Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 23, 2003 They're through! Have them lose there last match. Not get destroyed but just lose and then have them give a tearful goodbye the next night putting over the guy that beat them as the man to fill there shoes. Have that man come out and say it was an honor and shake there hand and say that you'd be honored to do it again sometime. It's that simple. Everyone looks great! The retiring guy goes out on a high note and he puts somebody over!
Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Whenever a wrestler retires, the right thing to do is to make someone on the way out. If that means putting them over clean, so be it. It's the guy that is left behind that has to carry the business, not the one who leaves.

It's the guy that is left behind that has to carry the business, not the one who leaves. Hogan's made Brock into one of the biggest new stars in the company...so he's pretty much set on that. Foley did the right thing on jobbing to HHH....I'm just saying seeing him cut a bitter shoot INT on Raw in Boston in late November 2001 is not the way I want to see Foley leave the WWE. Ditto with Brock standing over Hogan on SD. Ditto with Bret/HBK Survivor Series 97.

Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Hogan bloodied, looking broken down and weak, while Brock Lesnar stood over him with Hogan's own blood on Brock's chest and a psychotic look on his face is NOT the way I think Hogan should end his career. Like him or not, Hulk Hogan has played a HUGE part in part in professional wrestling history and for him not to end his career on a good note and go out without a bang wouldn't just seem right, IMO. That's why I am glad Hogan can go out with a bang and glad it can end on a good note. And speaking of ending careers, I just thought about the Undertaker/Brock Lesnar HITC match for No Mercy, and it dawned on me it could have been the PERFECT retirement match for Undertaker. Taker jobbed to the future of the company and Brock stood victorious at the end. That match should have been his final match.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 23, 2003 So it's fine for UT to go out in a bloody mess with Brock standing over him but it's not fine for Hogan to? Ok next time we need a retirement do it like this. Ok let's say UT retires(ha!) and his last match is against Kurt Angle(double ha!) Have them fight in an extremely competitive match where UT loses cleanly to Angle. UT comes out the next night and says that he's been going a long time and that last night he realized he'd been replaced. Angle may even come out and shake his hand and say that it was a hell of a match and Angle did his best to win. UT tells the fans goodbye and leaves. There his career ends on a high note. If Hogan must absolutely end on a high note have him beat Vince at Mania then the next night come out and give his retirement speech and name the person who is filling his shoes. That way he goes out putting someone over. That people is the way to go out on top while putting a new star over. In both the ways I just named. They don't have to win this match like superman and then declare themselves the greatest ever and retire the next night.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 23, 2003 He put guys over in the past year and did his part. He put over Rock (although he also started the Rock's path to Bad Crowd Heat at the same time) and Kurt Angle by jobbing cleanly. If he beats up Vince, there's no big deal about heat loss. BTW, I really can't see Hogan disappear. I can see him either hang around and do something like be Raw's version of Funaki, or he could go Hollywood Hogan sans the NWO stuff and be the Ric Flair to bad guy Rock's HHH. Although the big black beard job is finally gone (thank you god) so I doubt that will happen.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Hogan will stay until Summerslam. He'll do one lat big job to someone who deserves it (Jericho, Benoit or Booker) and put them over BIG time. I think he's going to pull a Shawn and not wrestle too much but when he does it will be in big matches. Hogan is going to make one of the smark's darlings look like a million bucks. If you can go out on a high not with the internet fans, then you, sir, have truly gone out on a high note. Watch.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 23, 2003 I doubt seriously Hogan will job to a small guy. Who's he buddies with these days anyways? He'll put that guy over.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted January 23, 2003 I think Hogan should come out to the ring and give his big retirement speech. Then he should call out Rock. (this could be Rock's return to WWffffffffE) He could talk about their "great" match at WM, how Rock is the future of wrestling, Rock-a-maniacs, take your vitamins, all that stupid bullshit. Then Hogan extends his hand to Rock, and Rock buries his decrepit orange ass with a Rock Bottom. This way Hogan is gone, and I don't have to hate Rock anymore. Plus, Vince could think to himself, "SWERVE~!", which you know he does. ps - this is assuming that Rock actually decides to be a wrestler.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 23, 2003 Bloodied and broken down at the feet of the man who just kicked his ass was a perfect end for The Orange One. I don't give a shit about his past and what he did for wrestling back then. He's did just as much to hurt it when he left WWF and doesn't deserve a damn thing other than a Retirement Ceramony. If he must have a match he sure the hell shouldn't be given a clean win. Oh yeah and to deflect any "Well you just don't understand what Hogan meant" statements I was watching WWF in Hogan's glory years and I was a Hulkamaniac way back then. Guest Brian Report post Posted January 23, 2003 By SummerSlam, a Hogan job will have little meaning. Just have him come out to the red and yellow, "Real American", all decked out for one match with Vince, a win, and have him give a retirement speech on SmackDown. See, if Rock injures him than Hogan plays right back into a revenge scenario.

Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 23, 2003 I know. Hogan jobs to him and Rocky becomes a Hulkamaniac and runs around putting over how great Hogan is. Yep he really put him over. Hell if you ask a casual fan who won they'd probably say Hogan.
