Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted January 23, 2003 ROTFLMAO @ him thinking Brock was acting black for saying "holmes".
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Race Angles = Bad. Now, if it was a big fat white guy thinking he was an old black woman, then THAT would be fantastic. "Don't make me break my foot off in yo ass" "That's my white momma!" Glad to see someone remembers the early funny days of MAD TV.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 24, 2003 I remember Bamboozled. That movie was great. But can you really picture D-Lo coming out all black faced, tap-dancing, eating watermelon, and saying "nigger" excessively to anyone.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted January 24, 2003 ^ Nope. I agree, I enjoyed watching Bamboozled. Always got me fired up.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 24, 2003 It didn't get me fired up. The last scene with all the flashing images and Waynes going on while dead disturbed me. But that's what it was supposed to do so good job.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted January 24, 2003 No no no, D lo doesn't wear black face - after the match, when his opponent is knocked out - D lo puts black face on THEM. Sorta like the Million Dollar Man and the money in the mouth.
Guest jester Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Since D'Lo is doing the racism thing, I hope they do an evil foreigner gimmick for Gail Kim when she gets in. Because THAT WOULD BE SOOOOO ORIGINAL. Especially if they say she's Japanese. Was that sarcastic enough? They'd do it if they felt like it. Hell, if they think they can get away with trying to get a Samoan to pass for Japanese, they wouldn't hesitate to try it with a Korean-Canadian. Oh, I know they would. It's Unimaginative Wrestling Booking 101. I just hope they give her something else. Anything else. Uhm, given the history of WWE perhaps I should not say "anything." Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted January 24, 2003 You think she will come back as the half sister of Katie Vick seeking revenge on those who wronged her? Or maybe Al Wilsons thai love slave who carried his bastard seed and now wants child support? How about she play the evil seductress of one brock lesnar, paid by paul heyman to keep his mind off of the WM match with Kurt Angle? Oooooh.
Guest The Amazing Rando Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Nah..they will just put her in there as Funaki's UNCLE ...cause the WWE hasn't done a sex change angle yet... and you KNOW that one of them is coming soon enough...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted January 24, 2003 No. We end smackdown with Funaki partying it up with (insert face here who won the big match). Next week we see him awake from his bed next to a mysterious woman. Funaki, of course, has a girlfriend but she is out on business and won't be coming back in a month. So he has 30 days to get Gail Kim off his back (because she's obsessive over the whole funakin sho, right?) but she just won't leave him. Hilarity ensues. Guest AfricanAmerican Report post Posted January 24, 2003 You forgot to mention that "Cena is blacker than D'Lo", deadbeater. Cena raps. D'Lo..umm...recites....poetry. Or at least his version of it. Does rapping make a person Black? cena is "blacker" than D'Lo because he raps while D'Lo does poetry? Did it occur to you that most rap is poetry recited to music? I'm confused as to how you people can say that someone is "blacker" than another person. Black people, just like whites, asians, and others do not all act the same as everyone in their race. D'Lo may have tried to act a little ghetto (Thuganomics anyone) a couple weeks ago, but isn't it impossible for him to have been trying to act Black? (he's already of african descent (sp?)). stereotypes are bad
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted January 24, 2003 stereotypes are fun~!
Guest AfricanAmerican Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Brock said "What you think now, homes!" as he beat down Eddie Guerrero one Smackdown. And no, don't confuse 'Thuganomics' with acting Black. No, no way. Gansta rap was suburban fantasy of urban life that went out of control. Eh--he was just mimmicking Eddy's Latino gangsta language. And Cena is a white boy who raps. That doesn't make him black. He'd have to do some other black stereotypes first. even if Cena acted out other stereotypes, isn't it a little impossible form him to become Black? Guest AfricanAmerican Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Whatever happened to "the college man" D-lo? think WWE was just looking for the right character for him to play... went from ghetto black person that was being hated on by the refs, to educated black person with a degree in accounting, to what seems now like a black person back in the days of slavery that's against white people
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted January 24, 2003 I like the idea of her being the seductress for Brock if only because I'd wanna see how far they go and the expressions on Brock's face. *Gail Kim standing over Brock's face* Brock:Please.......stop....you're......tempting.....me </straight face> Except Heyman telling her to get Brock hot and bothered would disturb me coming from Heyman. Guest deadbeater Report post Posted January 26, 2003 BTW, when I said who was acting Blacker, I was mocking D'Lo's wearing that bandanna on his head like he was Tupac or something on a Raw a couple of weeks back. He acted like he had an accounting degree from Boston College, wanting to act streetwise. Interesting that Sean O'Haire is doing a promo about being a Devil's Advocate, while Chris Nowinski is being an active one. Are these two joining forces? Guest Justwitty Report post Posted January 26, 2003 Anyone catch D'Lo on the Superbowl pre-game show on ABC? Jimmy Kimmel was doing a mock "farewell" to cable and passed through many shows. At one point, he entered the ring while Test had D'Lo in a hold and said farewell. He then made sure to wish a second goodbye to Stacey Keibler. (I have no clue when they filmed this but there was a crowd and everything so it was at a recent RAW taping.) Quite funny actually. (Oh and seeing how this is my first of hopefully many posts, hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster.)
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted January 26, 2003 It was from the most RAW that featured Chrises vs. BookDust I believe.

(Oh and seeing how this is my first of hopefully many posts, hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster.) Yah I saw that too..... I'm like when the hell did this happen. It must have been during a Heat taping. D-lo was in the "accountant" gear then.
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Did he actually get in the ring or was it super-imposed? Because I was at the Raw with the Bookdust/Chrises match and Jimmy Kimmel was not there.
Guest Justwitty Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Kimmel actually got in the ring with them. As someone else mentioned in another thread, D'Lo actually got a speaking part and Kimmel hugged Keibler...twice. I'm guessing it was filmed like parts of "Ready to Rumble" were. Either during a commerical break or before the taping itself.
