Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Okay, so I dug Young/Yang/Shark vs. SATs/Red. I definitely think that Joel and Jose have improved, but Red was a little off tonight. The SEX promo was pretty good, as only one match tonight looks to be that bad (4-Way Gauntlet for NWA World title: Jarrett vs. BG James vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Don Harris), and that's only because of 2 workers. Siaki's defending it against of the security guards that are trainees and Athena (so it looks like we'll see how good Athena and the trainee are). The best looking match tonight appears to be Amercia's Most Wanted vs. Elix Skipper/LowKi. Right now, SEX's newest acquisition, Ashley Hudson, is facing off against Jorge Estrada. Jorge hasn't blown too many spots, and has the POWER OF THE FRO back. Hudson wins when he reversed a top rope crossbody by Estrada into a lateral press. And now Sanders is trying to get Jorge into SEX, and Jorge refuses by rolling out of the ring and walking back up the ramp. ASS-JIGGLE DANCER JUST GAVE HERSELF A WEDGIE AND DID THE JIGGLE~!~~!~!~!~!~!~!~
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Styles/Zbysko just finished up. Too short to be remembered, but I liked where it appeared to be heading. Like bps said, they had a weird chemistry together. So far tonight we've seen ACTUAL matches instead of nonsensical spotfests. Could this be a trend?
Guest Zack Malibu Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I'm here Corey. Looks like I'm the only one . Styles/Zbysko was kept short, which was good, because going long would have been bad IMO (Styles couldn't carry Larry). The opener was a little sloppy for my taste, but I love Yang and I like the way the company gets behind Red, so it's all good. Best part of the night so far had to be Sanders, the guy is so damn entertaining, and the way he got a reaction every time he swayed his arms was classic. Tag Title match is on now, and is also pretty good. I'm wondering if Raven or Credible will be surprises tonight (Russo said he had a call to make...)
Guest Zack Malibu Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 SKIPPER AND LOW-KI ARE NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!! Damn good Tag Title match, and I can only think that putting the belts on them means the Triple X faction of S.E.X. will be around for a while. Low-Ki needs to lose the hair though. He looks like a geek from high school.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 That ending was so friggin' lame. I like Elix and Low-Ki, but come on now... AMW had just gotten the damned belts back two weeks ago(?) and shouldn't have been jobbing them now, especially in such a bullshit way.
JustJoe2k5 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I hope Athena doesn't win the X-Division title!
Guest Zack Malibu Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 That ending was so friggin' lame. I like Elix and Low-Ki, but come on now... Agreed it wasn't the best time to lose the belts, APO, but Russo's group should have titles for credibility, and Jarrett isn't losing the NWA belt anytime soon. At least this way, having 2 of the 3 makes the hunt for Jarrett and his belt somewhat more intriguing.
Guest AlwaysPissedOff Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I know, Zach, but this just seems like something they should have built to, not just thrown out there almost out of the blue. It would have been(and probably still will be) a pretty hot mini-feud if it gets the time it deserves.
Guest Army Eye Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 That was a pretty awesome tag title match. This is the first TNA show I've seen since the first few. Didn't know they were basically doing an nWo rehash. I like a lot of the guys in the group though. woot.. We Want Raven sign
Guest Zack Malibu Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 I foresee Russo stating that 2 of the 3 members of Triple X at any time can defend the belts. It's an "old school" booking tactic, so Russo can use his "it's tradition!" excuse for it. Holy shit Koloff still looks badass.
Guest Zack Malibu Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 And the Raven watch ends TONIGHT! Awesome fucking ending.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 RAVEN~! IT'S FUCKING RAVEN~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!!~!~!~!!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~
Guest Army Eye Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 RAVEN!!!!!!!!! Wow picked a great night to watch this
Guest RedJed Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Motherfuckin Raven!! I didn't think we'd see him in this fast AT ALL. Completely caught me off guard! Thank god he showed up because with the exception of the opening match and the tag title match (what a gay finish though) I thought the show wasn't near the quality of the past month or so of shows. But damn.......Ravens in and I guess they're going to waste no time with him and put him in a world title feud with Jarrett, sounds good. Smart idea to still have Jarrett as champ but yet he was still defeated and Raven now actually has posession of the belt too. I like it!
Astro101 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 HAHA! I LOVE MARKING OUT! I thought TNA would get him, but this fast??? And they will do what WWE couldn't...give him a role.
Guest The Last Free Voice Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Okay the Brakdown: Good: TNA girl with thong shake, Tag Match [ending aside] and RAVEN~! The Bad: Most everything else.
Mecha Mummy Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 ... RAVEN? ... SON OF A BITCH. Why didn't I order it... Oh, and in my opinion S.E.X. is WAY too big. And I would have sooner seen Raven in the New Church.
Guest Raven_Effect01 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Raven's actually gotten close to the World Heavyweight title again. We'll see if he can still go in the ring by next week or so. The tag title match was good, but I don't think AMW should have lost the belts so early.
Guest RedJed Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 The Russo group needed a true star on top to feud off with Jarrett and they just got it in Raven. A blessing in disguise by McMahon by releasing him. Another cool feud I hope they go with long term is Kash v. Siaki. BTW, what in the hell was Piper trying to get at with that long winded promo spot he did anyway? What a waste of time that was.
Guest RedJed Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 ... RAVEN? ... SON OF A BITCH. Why didn't I order it... Oh, and in my opinion S.E.X. is WAY too big. And I would have sooner seen Raven in the New Church. Theres a few guys in there like the Harris boys and probably also David Flair who would be better off being squashed hard in a match ASAP and then never being heard from again. I would say James should go too but they got the Armstrong feud there that could work if booked right. Anyway if they got rid of uselessness like Flair and the Harrisses, the group would be actually VERY strong IMO. Raven in the New Church would be ok but the fact is that the SEX group needed someone decent to challenge Jarrett and now they got him. Ideally, if you are going to put in any spot for Raven, going by his character, he should just be a loner or if anything forming his own group. Speaking of loner, whats the deal with Konnan?? BTW, if you really want to order it, the replay is on right now....
Astro101 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Yes, I'm looking forward to Kash and Siaki. Kash and Trinity really do make a good couple. I can't make an opinion on the whole show as I only watched the second half and am going to catch the replay in 30 minutes. But the tag match was good but I wish they coulda feuded with AMW a bit more.
Mecha Mummy Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Could they at least get rid of David Flair?
Guest El Satanico Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 The AJ Styles vs. Larry Nybisco match was alot better then i was expecting.
Guest RedJed Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 The AJ Styles vs. Larry Nybisco match was alot better then i was expecting. Same here, Zbyszko looked as good if not better than he did in the ring with Hall and others when he did his comeback runs in WCW back in the 90s. It amazed me. I didn't quite get why Styles was so over as a face there though, even after he cheated to win. Guess it's inevitable they will have to turn him into a face with attitude basically.
Guest RedJed Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Leather jacket, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Guest wwF1587 Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 i think i will have to start watching... does anyone know if they play a replay of this show like on the weekends.... im new to this fed too soo...
