After being given a God-Push by the WWE with absolutely no real character given to him save for a bastardized and castrated version of his heel gimmick, crappy entrance music, and the WWE sacrificing Kurt Angle's credibility (to the point that they are now having to portray Kurt as a one-dimensional bully heel in order to get him back over) by having him play the role of prison bitch to Edge, is anyone else happy to hear that the WWE is finally going to depush/bury Edge at long last?

That was some monster push. He ended up in the same place where he started out. And what fucking comeuppance, for Christ's sake? Do you think Edge should have gone to management and said, "Hey, guys. I really didn't sell the arm against Eddy tonight, so could, like, bury me and not let me win matches and stuff? That'd be great." It's just asinine the way some of you people think. And...AND I don't know what fucking show you've been watching, but Kurt Angle has been the most over heel in the company for quite some time now, despite doing jobs to Edge that were undoubtedly the idea of management and not Edge. Comeuppance would imply that Edge had done something wrong; so far as I can tell, all he did was try to be successful.

That is his own fault. If just ONE of his promos against Angle showed that he respected Angle and knew that a win against him would be huge, he would have moved on up. Instead, it was "Hahahaha, you're a dork and you'll never beat me." Not exactly the same.

It's amazing that people say Angle's credibility is "shot" when he's the WWE Champion and making upper-midcard faces tap cleanly on PPV and on SD and how he some ended up unover(the biggest load of horseshit I've ever heard) after the Edge feud(and what's even funnier is that Angle has beaten clean with the tapouts at No Mercy and in the 4-Way elimination match on Smackdown for the #1 Contender's spot at Armageddon).

And the fact that he's never main evented a PPV card ever pretty much negates that he's had a "God push"(don't even give me that garbage about how he's on TV and how he's beaten other midcarders because it's all meaningless if they don't do anything more than that, PERIOD).

No- I think it's a shame that because Edge didnt drag A-Train to a ***** classic that he is in the dog house.

I can't believe some of you want someone depushed. You sound you'd be great on the WCW booking team circa 1998.

I think it sucks that a guy who connects with the crowd, has charisma and goes out and puts on good matches every week is being depushed.

Damn Edge for not going to the creative team asking that the finish be changed so he jobbed to Angle. Damn his soul to hell

Does anyone even remember the last time Edge even said 'dork'? Give it up AS- you're beating a dead horse

The last time Edge had a feud with Angle that should have elevated him but didn't. He hasn't since, but he blew his big chance there with that stupid shit. He would be much higher up now if they billed beating Angle as an accomplishment.

Isn't Edge calling his opponent a dork kinda like how Angle always puts down Rey Mysterio and then goes out and beats him?

That's what happens when you give a guy a quasi-plucky under dog gimmick.

They've also managed to hide the fact that Rey has never actually won a match.

Still, I have to think they will eventually let Rey win.

What is with all this Edge hate? He's no Dynamite Kid, but he's a better than average worker, he hasn't been around long enough to be getting this much hate, and he's on his way to becoming a top notch guy. I am tired of all this pissy bitching. He doesn't deserve a comupance. HHH does. Taker does. Hogan certainly does. But Edge doesn't.

They hate him because He is Vince's personal pet toy. They hate him because he was a fan just like them and unlike them, He had the will to GO do something...AS can complain all he wants...I don't see AS volunteering his services to Vince McMahon.

Edge is suppoused to be a representive of Hulk hogan raised America, and he truly is.

So

Hogan hate begets Edge hate.

I don't think Edge deserves any comeupins, but I'm far away from liking him yet.

I'm not particularly high on Edge either, but the fact is he's a solid in ring worker who has some room to grow. I mena, Benoit was working with some of the best Junior workers in Japan at Edge's age, of course Benoit 's a better wrestler. And Edge is the closest thing right now that WWE has to a future. If Edge doesn't grow by the time Benoit and Guerrero retire, then I can see criticizing him, but he's improving, and he will continue to improve

Right, Austin wasn't good until he had his programs with Muta, Steamboat and Anderson.

So edge has Angle, Beniot, Eddy to work with. Should be a good one in about 3 years.

Our main problem with Edge is that for a while, Vince seemed intent on making Edge a star, at the expense of the other, much more talented people on the roster. Why should Angle, The Chrisses and Eddy be stepping stones for a guy obviously not nearly as talented as any of them?

That's not how I feel.

I just don't like the guy. He irks me beyond belief.

Edge is in Vince's mind the ultimate combonation of all his greatest pieces...

The Hogan like charisma. Check.

The long HBK Blonde Hair. Check.

Canadian like Bret. Check

Fan of Wrestling like Foley. Check.

Speed of Eddy? Check

Size of Hogan? Check

No Roids. Check

Personality. Check

So, Edge is logically Vince's Dream.

Because he was over?

That's pretty much what the RVD fans say when they want him pushed and/or bitch about how he's buried.

So were the stepping stones. In some cases (Angle and Jericho) They were more over as heels than Edge as a face. Still doesn't say why he, in theory, should have been pushed over them,

Jericho isn't Home grown...so there his is strike.

Angle isn't Hulk Hogan Like. Edge is.

That's why.

I guess they were building for the future. Plus, they were heels, so what's so wrong in the dastardly heel losing to the face? It's like the oldest story in the history of the world.

Guest Anglesault

APO, the dastardly heels are ususally built up as well, dastardly, they were built up as shit. (Eddy most certainly got it the worst, not actually coming out on top ONCE until the final three weeks of a 3 month feud)

Angle isn't Hulk Hogan Like. Edge is.

In what sense?

Eddy beat him in the second match they had and then got him quite a few times leading up to Unforgiven and the blowoff at the next Smackdown.

I don't think Edge should be pushed at all. I think they should give his spot to Bull Buchanan. I think that would make everyone happy.

If by "quite a few" you mean "once, the week before" then, yeah.

and the blowoff at the next Smackdown.

Edge won that.
