Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted January 24, 2003 http://wrestlingclassics.com/.ubb/ultimate...ic;f=1;t=033531 Check it out there and thanks to Cawthon777 for showing me this. Pretty cool that Tajiri is the number one contender for the Raw title in his home country. Great pics, too.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted January 24, 2003 I think that's pretty cool that they gave him a shot. Although he is a Smackdown talent, so he is obviously just on the tour because he is asian. Still Tajiri is probably happy to be wrestling in his home country for the Heavyweight title.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted January 24, 2003 And HHH is happy to obliterate him in the ring and make him look like a complete bafoon in his home country. I'm sure they'd work a methodical mat-based match, where even Tajiri would be turned on by his hometown.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 24, 2003 I think Tajiri is actually American born. And I know he speaks perfect English. It's pandering, and HHH beats him. Real shock. HEH! Stacy cheerleading in a neckbrace!! Bwahahaha!!

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 24, 2003 MATCH #6 Rob Van Dam d. Christian in 11:15 Why can't we get an RVD match that long on TV? Although I'd like to skip the idea of an 18 minute 3MW match.
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Since they were in Japan, do you think that Jericho and Tajiri worked a North American match..or a Japanese match? Good pictures.
Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted January 24, 2003 Of course Jericho jobs to Tajiri in order for him to procedd to be squashed by Hunter. Therefore Jericho<Tajiri<HHH

Although I'd like to skip the idea of an 18 minute 3MW match. 18 minutes?! BWAHAHAHA!! They had to be horribly blown up by then, and a lot of time was wasted setting up table spots while they rested. And doesn't their name basically tell you that they should be in short matches anyway? Blah.
Guest Brian Report post Posted January 24, 2003 I would doubt Tajiri is native born since he got his start working Japanese indies and Big Japan.
Guest Banky Report post Posted January 24, 2003 I think Tajiri is actually American born. And I know he speaks perfect English. It's pandering, and HHH beats him. Real shock. HEH! Stacy cheerleading in a neckbrace!! Bwahahaha!! Where do you get your info? When Tajiri was injured in December he went back HOME to Japan to heal. I've never heard of Tajiri wrestling anywhere in America before ECW.
Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted January 25, 2003 And I don't think he speaks perfect English either. Fluent Spanish, yes, but I'd doubt that he could speak English as well because when Rhyno was greeting him for a segment on Confidential, Tajiri just did a lot of nodding. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 25, 2003 A friend of mine met Tajiri at an ECW show once, and he does speak perfect English. I said I THINK he may be born in America, because it's hard for a native Japanese to speak perfect English unless he's exposed early on to English speakers. Take a look at Funaki. He was born and lived most of his life in Japan. I figure they just didn't want to break kayfabe by having Tajiri speak English. However, if anyone can prove he's actually from Japan, then I'll be glad to admit I was wrong. I never claimed I was positive he was from America, though. There's still a little bit of kayfabe in WWE, though not much...
Guest shlidgn90 Report post Posted January 25, 2003 on his bio a couple of years ago, tajiri spoke only japanese and spanish fluently. the only reason he came to north america to work because he was blackballed in japan after he questioned the bosses of big japan about payoffs. which is a definite no-no. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted January 25, 2003 The thing is, it's extremely rare for a wrestler of Japanese origins to be actually allowed to portray an American, regardless of them actually being so. Most of the big leagues tend to act like NO North Americans of Japanese origins actually wrestle, and that all of them must be born in Japan and happened to migrate stateside. Well, then out of necessity when he came to America then he'd have to learn English. I guess he is actually from Japan though, so I guess I was wrong about that then. Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted January 25, 2003 Is it me or does Victoria look a LOT LESS attractive in those pics from Japan?? maybe she figured the load of makeup could be toned down since it wasn't on TV.
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted January 25, 2003 when did this event took place?
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Report post Posted January 25, 2003 Yes she doesn't look very attractive. It was kinda sad....I was showing the pics to my mom and I was like "IMO this is the hottest woman in the WWE...OH MY GOD!"

Even Steamboat had to be a "master of karate" and wear a gi to the ring. Thank God no one told him to speak broken english. Probably would've refused anyway. And while I'm on the subject, why the hell is Steamboat listed at 46 in Molanario/Meltzer's 100 Best book? Bullshit says I!
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2003 BTW I remember from a RAW Magazine they had an article about Tajiri. They said he really was from Japan and had a degree from one of their more prestigious universities (maybe U. of Tokyo). I'm pretty sure that ECW had it right when they said he was from Yokohama, Japan.

Guest art_vandelay Report post Posted January 25, 2003 Booker was injured and had to fly back to the US after the Korea show. He became sick after the India trip too.

Guest Phoenix Fury Legdrop Report post Posted January 25, 2003 Look at the RVD/Christian pic, and look closely at the photographers at ringside. I swear the guy with what looks like a WWE video camera is HOWARD FINKEL. That's just mean of them.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2003 MATCH #2 Stevie Richards d. Rico with a DDT at 7:10 And no pics? Bastards. Would've been a helluva match to see, though. Which makes them Lucky Bastards. I swear the guy with what looks like a WWE video camera is HOWARD FINKEL. Hmm...I think Finkel is standing behind the camera guy. I can't really tell.
