I got into an argument with someone about this, because they derided the good name of my... well, name. So, which is the better eating utensil? Think practically, people, not like in terms of weapons or something.

And totally ignore the fact that a guy named Patrick Spoon made this poll.

Spoon... NO DOUBT.

You can do everything you can do with a fork AND you can eat soup.

You can't cut steak with a spoon, while the fork is a valuable assistant tool in that endeavor. Then again, it's hard to eat cereal with a fork. Ultimately, steak > cereal, so I'm forced to side with the fork. This topic may prove once and for all how practical the spork really is.

What about the spork? Its the best of both worlds.

If you really wanted to, you could hold down your steak with the spoon and use your knife to cut it. The fork doesn't cut anything.

You can also use the edge of the spoon to cut through meat that's not too tough.

I've always had a thing against spoons...I dont know why. But hey, forks are good for gouging out eyes!

Didn't I say to NOT think in terms of a weapon?

Shit, fork is dragging spoon... mustn't let the person who made me create the poll know...

Spoons rule. You can hold liquid such as milk from cereal or soup. Also you can use the sides to cut weak meat. Spoons are superior.

Fork.

In a pinch, most cereals can be consumed with a fork, and it's easier to do that than to use a spoon to eat a dead cow/pig/chicken/fish/etc...

I'll have to side with the Fork, i don't have soup, cereal or anything of that vein often enough to get much use out of a spoon.

Definitely the fork. Whenever I eat soup, which is very very rarely, it'll usually be in a cup, and I'll just sip the shit. Soup's a pretty pointless food anyway. Insubstantial.

Why's everyone got a woody over the spork? It's not useful as a spoon, due to the irregularity in its surface, and as a fork, it falls short due to the curvature of the applied edge.

Make a commitment and quit being a middling shit, you fools. FORK OR SPOON??

Plus AOO, the pricks on the fork part of the spork break off easily because it is plastic.

Me neither, but you know... if I ever came across one, I wouldn't be surprised by its existence.

I've seen a metal spork. It was part of a camping utility knife.

The Spork is pure evil. Man is not supposed to play god with kitchen utensils.

I'd have to say a fork as well. I mean, most of the foods I enjoy are eatin' with a fork. I don't eat much cereal, nor do i have soup all that often, so no big loss. Can you picture eating a plate of spaghetti with a spoon? Nah, me neither...

so to those who like spoons better......go FORK yourself!

:P
