Not to mention that it's almost always well-deserved. The best way to flame Rob is to let him have enough rope to hang himself, then just pull on his legs while he's being strangled. It's simple, it's effective, and all the work is being done by a combination of gravity and himself.

People, I regret teaching him to require citations and actual refutation. Why? Because he doesn't understand them, and, when confronted with firm evidence, will simply complain that you're bashing him and ask you to honestly try to refute him.

Tom, that's your solution to everything. Not that it's a BAD solution...

Rob is a guru, he has taught me much. Apparently, my entire people, being mostly Catholic, are not in fact Christians and are certainly undesirable compared to normal Christians. Who would have thought that a slightly different branch of a religion makes it TOTALLY DIFFERENT???? I'm an atheist, but boi do I know now that those Catholics are all mindless fools brainwashed by the Pope.

America's input in the World War's have been greatly over-exagerated by their media, especially World War I.

Eh, not in WW2. Without the US's help, all of Europe would have been goosestepping since I don't know if Britain could have held on much longer.

The US was a vital part of WW2. Otherwise we would have had Commies in France instead of Nazis. Hitler never could have won, though. At the same time, without Britain & Canada keeping the war alive in 1941 it would have been too late to do anything. WW2 was a group effort, but am not denying that the US was the most important of the western Allies. The USSR was more important in taking out Hitler though. Add in the Pacific, and we really needed the US.

WW1 was over by the time the US got involved. Sure it lingered a while longer, but Germany lost everything when they ran a do or die offensive to take Paris. From that point they were basically stalling to get the best possible deal, and avoid the fact that they had to tell the German people that they lost the war (when propoganda would have suggested otherwise). If anything, the US was a bad influence on the First World War, because there insistance on not negotiating with Wilhelm and mucking up the peace process helped lead to Hitler's takeover in 1933. Lloyd George had his hand in this too. Wilson also tried to get Canada kicked out of the Peace Conference as well, which was annoying considering we were in the war from the beginning.

The whole Normandy invasion was Eisenhower's brainchild and he was the commander that really gave the Allied forces a kick in the ass to go into Fortress Europe.

Hitler's swerving of the Soviets and pissing Stalin off didn't help the Nazis chances, though.

As a regular at the Current Events folder, I must say this is some hilarious stuff, and hereby nominate it for Thread of the Mid-year.....

It did help that Stalin was willing and able to sacrifice hundreds of thousands of soldiers and not really be affected. The USSR was just too massive for the Nazi's to take over.
