Guest GameCop Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Ok, let me get this straight -- Jericho is depicted as an ominous heel for MONTHS, only to succumb to Scott Steiner in a match that made Jericho look extremely feeble. HHH must have been smiling up in the luxury box.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Look at this way Jericho would of been even more embarassed if he would of fueded with HHH.
Guest art_vandelay Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Would've been nice if at least HBK or Test or even Stacy interfered in some way to cost him the win.
Guest TheHulkster Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Jericho is just the odd man out tonight. They wanted to have a #1 contender's match with Steiner and a big main event for Raw, but having Stenier beat another babyface would probably hurt his heat a little bit. What other heel is going to be credible in a #1 contender's match against Steiner? Bautista? Are they going to do Jericho Vs HHH at NWO again with both as heels? Probably not. So why complain about it. I'm sure Jericho is happy to get a little bonus in his check from being in the top slot.
Guest snuffbox Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I think a clean win in the main event was the best thing to do. A clusterfuck would only damage an allready beaten product. And the match itself wasnt bad, considering Steiner is utter waste. It was the first raw match ive watched in months and Y2J's carrying skills impressed me. I dont think this hurt Jericho at all. Let him go over Test at NWO then a big matchup with HBK at Mania. Alls fairly good now, if only the bookermen would realize the drawing power of TALENT.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I figured for sure that Steiner would win with the Recliner making Jericho tap out.
Guest fosta Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I don't know why they haven't got Jericho on top. His backstage skits with Christian were great, I thought; only skits that made me laugh on RAW (Besides a chuckle at Kane's lack of anyything positive). Plus FOZZY Rock! \m/
B. Brian Brunzell Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Did anyone but me fear for Jericho's life everytime Steiner picked him up for a power move?
Guest Razor Roman Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I really thought Jericho shined in that match. All his mannerisms, taunting, everything was absolutely great. Not to mention that he pretty much dominated the match. Steiner's win was almost a fluke, in my eyes. And grabbing Hebner to keep steiner from tossing him.. Brilliance!
Guest notJames Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 That match spoke volumes about the talent level on RAW: HHHeMan gets 25 or so minutes on a PPV to work a miracle with Steiner and gives us the drizzling shits. Jericho gets 5 minutes with the same lump of shit and it ends up so much better (thanks to all the little heel things he did like the eyepoke, grabbing the ref, etc.) Why again does the walking wHHHounded have the belt again?
Guest evilhomer Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 The real question here is what does this mean for WM? The HHH/Steiner fued is ongoing, so they've got to have another match, but after the dud they put on at the RR, there's no way the two of them will have a co-main event at WM (I hope). So they have the blow off match at NWO, and that gives them exactly one month to come up with an entirely new fued and match for the most important PPV of the year. Steiner had to go over in this match unless they wanted to abruptly end the fued and effectively banish him to the midcard. (A move that I'm sure would be greatly hated here). This gives them the blow off match at NWO, where they can end the fued and still let Steiner look good, or at least as good as he can look. Some mild interference, such as Test crotching Jericho on the top rope, then keeping the same finish would have been better for Jericho, and would have been a good set up for a Jericho/Test match, but I never like to complain about a clean finish. At least give WWE some credit, they're going for some continuity by ending a fued properly, and going for a clean finish when they were emerged in a sea of run-in clusterfucks. Disclaimer: this entire opinion shall be flushed down the commode if Steiner/HHH doesn't end at NWO
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 This could be wishful thinking, but maybe Jericho will get rewarded for this with a win at WM over HBK.
Guest notJames Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Yeah, maybe after copious run-ins by Christian, Jeff Hardy, and the entire RCMP storming the border from British Columbia. After all, why waste a real rub to a true superstar like Jericho when GodBoy can give it to one of his TWA underlings?
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I seriously think they might put the belt on Steiner and then do part 3 at Wrestlemania, where HHH gets the belt back. This leaves out whatever they'll do with Austin; honestly, if they job Steiner again as No Way Out, he's outlived his usefulness and they should really let him go. Which is absolutely fine by me.
Guest SP-1 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Yeah, maybe after copious run-ins by Christian, Jeff Hardy, and the entire RCMP storming the border from British Columbia. After all, why waste a real rub to a true superstar like Jericho when GodBoy can give it to one of his TWA underlings? Yes because Wrestlemania has already come and gone and we've all seen how this plays out. Can I borrow your time machine?
Guest notJames Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Sorry, HHH's using it to sharpen his Flair act. (meow)
Guest AndrewTS Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I think Jericho will beat HBK clean. Then go into a fued with Trippers after a face turn. Then job to--oh hell, you know where I'm going...
Guest SP-1 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 if Trips ever lets out a hearty, "WHOO!" I'm going to come after you.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 if Trips ever lets out a hearty, "WHOO!" I'm going to come after you. He did... last night during his promo on Flair
Guest SP-1 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 You're kidding me, right? I went to sleep and didn't watch. TELL me that he didn't say WHOO. Please?
Guest Violent Mahatma Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I don't know about anyone else, but for some reason I don't see Jericho/HBK at 'Mania. Not much has really happened between them after RR, and, though HBK brought it up again last night, it seems as though they'll have him do something else and just drop the Jericho thing entirely. But then what does that leave Jericho at 'Mania? Test (argh)? Austin (yeah right)? Triple H (only if Trips beats him clean with a neckbreaker in under 5 minutes)? Oh wait, I've got it...hosting duties from THE WORLD~!
Guest jester Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Did anyone but me fear for Jericho's life everytime Steiner picked him up for a power move? Oh yeah. He was very slow on the powerbomb, I thought he was going to drop Jericho on his head.
Guest notJames Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 You're kidding me, right? I went to sleep and didn't watch. TELL me that he didn't say WHOO. Please? He did. And please don't come after me. HHHe said he was using it to remember how good he was in 2000. I swear.
Guest SP-1 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 I musn't wish harm on him . . . but he's pushing it now. Wow . . . how can you even THINK about imitating Ric Flair?? *goes off to cry*
Guest Aecas Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Soon all the fans will know when Triple H is going to entering..they'll all be woken up by the scraping sound as he tries to fit his massive head through the entranceway.
Guest evilhomer Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 (only if Trips beats him clean with a neckbreaker in under 5 minutes) Nah, a neckbreaker is far too devastating of a move to waste on Jericho. I see him breaking out The Pushkiller (sleeper of doom) again, slapping it on in the first 2 minutes, and let Jericho feebly try to get out for 3 minutes before succumbing On second thought, ignore this post. It might give someone ideas.
Guest converge241 Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 If they had Jericho win for all intents and purposes they have a heel-heel pseudo main event at No Way Out now the crowd may have probably cheered Jericho but then you have a problem because to the viewing audince hes still a heel so you get that same reaction that Steiner - HHH got at the rumble the crowd turned on Steiner yet they wanted to keep pushing him as the face.. They should have just had HHH- Jericho on a Raw and have Shawn and Steiner attack the two of them..which they may end up doing maybe at some point still but to sum up: HHH vs Jericho at No Way Out in Montreal would have been a bad idea in their current mindset... HHH - Steiner isnt exactly greener grass but what can you do. with Goldust getting attacked maybe they could move Booker in that spot or the WM spot against Hunter for revenge
Guest snuffbox Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Considering how hhh isnt exactly too over, for a main eventer on tv nonstop, and NWO being in Montreal Canada I think Steiner had to go over. Jericho would probably be way to over with the audience if he worked HHH at no way out.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted February 4, 2003 Report Posted February 4, 2003 Well Steiner has to beat someone....and Jericho's name was just pulled from the bag. He should be HHHonored anyways.
Guest Shanghai Kid 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 Jericho kind of went out like a bitch in the match with Stiener. It wouldn't of hurt to have SOMEBODY intefere to cost him the match...I mean he's only feuding with like 3 different people. Still, Jericho gets LOTS of tv time and is almost overexposed. Losses don't hurt Jericho anymore, it's the wins that help.
