EL DANDY~! Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 Konnan has made several appearances for NWA:TNA in recent weeks, emerging from the crowd and attacking X-Division wrestlers with a cane. Konnan is scheduled for a sit down interview with Mike Tenay on this week’s NWA:TNA broadcast. It is expected that he will reveal his intentions, and that he is lashing out against the X Division because he feels it is a rip off of the lucha libre style he brought to WCW. Credit: Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter His lucha style was a heavyweight style. He didn't even do any high flying moves. The Konnan bullshit brigade continues...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 If I'm not mistaken lucha libre is literally interpreted as "Mexican pro wrestling". Therefore the highspots are merely the moves that it is recognized for.
EL DANDY~! Posted February 5, 2003 Author Report Posted February 5, 2003 The lucha style he brought was his dull heavyweight style. Lucha is known for it's daredevil moves, which Konnan did none....
Guest RedJed Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 Its not what he did in the ring, its the reality that he got the lucha stars into WCW which is the point here. And that actually IS true. Like I said a few weeks when we were all speculating on his role, I think this angle is going to kick all kinds of ass, especially if you get some lucha staples like perhaps La Parka and Psicosis to take on X division workers like Cross and Red.
syxx2001 Posted February 5, 2003 Report Posted February 5, 2003 I guess you refused to read what he said. Lucha libre is mexican pro wrestling. La parka did little to no highspots and neither did Konnan. Highspots are just something it is noticed for. Lucha libre has and always will be mexican wrestling. The highspots are a gift.
