Got to agree with adam bomb about raven/rhyno, despite loving both guys I didn't expect anything. Sadly nothing came of it for raven, he showed that with more than 3 minutes he can build a damn fine hardcore match. God knows why he didn't get an extended run. I think they could have got a lot more mileage out of the hardcore belt personally, I don't understand why they killed it just as they gave it tommy dreamer, he's proved he can still pop a crowd with the hardcore stuff, he could at least have had a decent run before they retired the belt. But I'm on my 'undercard markout guys' rant again. I'm gonna go sulk now.

And I just watched the taker/yoko casket match the other day (I get bored) and they seemed to be going *ok* before the 5 year long 'death' angle and the WORST BEATDOWN EVER by about 15 guys.

Bossman and Barbarian had an alright match too, I seem to remember. Wow.

A recent match that was better than it looked to be on paper was, Undertaker vs Big Show. I'm not saying it was a classic or anything, but it was much better than I and a lot of other people thought that it was going to be.

most matches involving the McMahons (Shane & Vince) always turn out pretty good IMO:

Shane vs. Test - SS 99

Shane vs. XPac - WM15

Shane vs. Blackman - SS 2000

Shane vs. Vince - WM 17

Shane vs. Angle - KOTR 2001

Vince vs. Flair - RR 2002

Vince vs. Austin - St. Valentine's Day Massacre

Veince & Shane vs. Austin - KOTR 99

and others....

Test/Shane was a pretty fun brawl. I was expecting crap.

Heres how I rated Summerslam 1993...

Ted Dibiase v. Razor Ramon (**1/4) Quick and innofensive. Heenans commentary throughout the match brought it up bit in rating.

Steiners v. Heavenly Bodies (***) Pretty awesome match, but at the mid point the match seemed to drag a little bit.

PErfect v. HBK (***1/4) It wasn't THAT bad. Sure it wasn't t ***** but it weas still pretty good match.

IRS v. 1-2-3 Kid (*) Eh

Bret v. Doink The Clown (***) Pretty good considering Bret Hart was pissed off at Lawler and just KILLED doink.

Bret v. Lawler (**1/2) Pretty fun.

Borga v. Jannetty (*) Ok I am a Jannetty mark, so sue me.

Gonzalez v. Undertaker (1/2*) I was smoking SOMETHING by now i think.

6 Man Tag Match (***1/2) A LOT better then I thought from THESE 6 people.

Luger/Yoko (**1/2) Really good considering how bad these guys were in later years.

Overall: The matches rated * or less were generous, but otherwise, nothing was really crappy, it was a fun PPV to sit through from opening bell to final bell.

I pick two Wrestlemania matches featuring the Rockers.....

WMV: Twin Towers vs. Rockers

WMVII: Barbarian & Haku vs. Rockers

Both of the matches were very fun to watch, with the Rockers carrying the uncarriable opponents.

Macho King Randy Savage w/ Sensational Sherri vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan in a match for The Crown at MSG in late 1989.

This can be found on CV's Mega Matches. Beleive it or not, this match is an emotional roller coaster. Time and again, it appeared Duggan would regain the crown. Even Hillbilly Jim did a good job at the commentary table with Gorilla Monsoon. MSG was going NUTS at every near fall. Definitely a fun match to check out if you have the tape lying around somewhere.

I'm in the minority, but I still say Kane-Test from No Mercy 2001 was **, so that should be included here.

::Unleashes full wrath::

Worst PPV match of 01.

Stephanie/Trisj=h was amazing.

Bossman's had some pretty good outings at the RR. Matches that were supposed to suck were actually good like Bossman vs Duggan at 90 RR and Bossmanvs. Barbarian at RR91. he also was solid in the 92 Rumble

First thing to come to my mind...Stephanie vs. Trish, from No Way Out 2001.

Good call. NWO 2001 in general was awesome. Just about everybody was 'on' that night.

You know, I'm not limiting this to just the US...

How about Gary Albright vs. Toshiaki Kawada? Alrbight, who can't work that well, gets carried SINGLE HANDEDLY BY Kawada through the entire match...

Arrrrgh KANE/TEST WASN'T THAT BAD! You hate both guys is all. They have had numerous worse matches with different people and booker/taker was hardly any better, and that was on the same card. A couple of minutes too long maybe, but that's it.

Bossman was a pretty good big man back in the day.

The nWo/Horsemen/WCW 12 man tag at Unscensored 1997 was WAYYYYY better than humanly possible consdering it had Hogan, Piper, Mongo, Giant...etc. Plus the ending with Sting was one of my biggest mark out moments.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Owen pull a ***1/4 match out of Ahmed Johnson sometime in 1996.

Taker - Diesel at WM12 was one of the best matches for each man in the company ..I mean not the best but its on the list

Cactus Jack vs. Van Hammer was good, and it involved Van Hammer.

That ain't right.

Mean Mark Callous vs. Lex Luger was fine power match.

Undertaker vs. Diesel. This match, believe it or not turned house show business around while Shawn and Bret were in meaningless feuds waiting for the 'Mania showdown. Good little match.

Shane McMahon vs. Vince McMahon is how wrestling soap operas SHOULD be done.

This year, Yuji Nagata vs. Masahiro Chono was ten times better then it should have been.
