Don't make his name seem important, Choken One.

Ah, the tough decisions. When I was your age all I could do was sneak downstairs and watch Benny Hill. No fancy game systems or nuthin...

I don't get the MJ hate. More then likely the greatest player of all time, he should be given this time. Especially because it's an exhibition game that means nothing. They're not handing the Wizards the NBA title (they're too busy trying to give it to the Lakers but that's another story).

Vince Carter shouldn't have even been in the game and it just proves that most fans are idiots. The only reason Vince got voted in is because he is one of the premier dunkers in the league. In fact Vince (besides Jermaine O'Neal) is one of the main reasons the East lost the game. When he came in he was straight up wild. It was MJ who would've hit the game winner.

Also, Yao is a good rookie (not as good as Amare though) but he had no business starting either.

I don't see what's wrong with giving Jordan some love this weekend. Yeah, it did go over the top towards the end, but they won't have MJ around next year to talk about, so they might as well get it all out now. Also, it's not like Jordan hasn't practically MADE the NBA, so he is worthy of as much praise as you can heap upon him. He is the greatest player ever, as well as the biggest media star in sports history.

But about that last foul. I don't blame Jermaine O'Neal. That was a bad call, seeing as there was absolutely no way Kobe would have made the shot anyway.

Finally, I don't think the NBA is anywhere near WWE as far as holding down younger talent. Everyone, Jordan included, has been talking about the "new school" all weekend. You don't think they made one single new star? How about Jason Richardson?

There were too many people on the court too, when Kobe got fouled. Something should have been done about that.

Lucky you. My PS2 has completely broken down (refuses to play anything) and I miss NCAA Football 2003. You definitely should get another memory card...dynasty mode is awesome. Plus if you got Madden you can import your draft class into Franchise mode so you can draft from the incoming class - all the seniors, and some juniors who come out. It's cool.

Jeez...Give the man a break. Michael Jordan is the Greatest to ever play the game.

It's because of him(among others) that you see Bryant, Garnett, McGrady, Iverson out there every night, because of his influence. It's because of him(among others) that this game became what it is today.

At age 39(40 in a couple of days) busts his ass every night for you so-called "Fans" he puts up Points a night most players in their 20's wish they could do.

Most guys wish they could put up 40 Points in a game.

I, thank MJ for doing what he has done for the game of Basketball, for giving me the chance to watch him play and inspiring me to play Basketball.

This comes from a true Fan, not one who will only praise MJ when he puts up 40 Points or leads The Wizards to a victory after an important game.

Back to the topic...

That was a great game. Wouldn't be surprised if Jermaine O'Neal suddenly disappeared for ruining the NBA's big moment. For sure, his hype will probably disappear. KG took over in the second OT and was good all throughout.

Now I am peeved by a couple of things:

1. VC giving up his starting spot up for Jordan. If he did it voluntarily, great. And the fans wanted it and the All-Star game is an exhibition so no problem there. But it wasn't completely voluntary, as everyone seemed to be jumping down Carter's throat, proclaiming him "unworthy" to be starting. I have news for them: It's an All-Star game. The fans pick who starts. Carter had more votes, therefore he starts unless he decides to give up that spot. And legend or not, no one should have to undergo the battering VC took over a simple all-star starting spot.

2. Announcers. I expected the MJ verbal BJ's and was prepared (he goes 9-27, yeah, such a historic performance). But damn, Danny Ainge during the Rookie/Sophomore game was just annoying, complaining that there was no defense being played and that the players were showboating. Then Mike Fratello did the same thing at the beginning of the All-Star game. I hate to tell you guys, but the All-Star game is an EXHIBITION! Defense wins championships, yes. But I actually like to watch fast-break basketball and the All-Star game is the only chance I get to anymore. So I want to watch the guys go out and have fun without having to listen to some stuffy announcer whining about the complete lack of defense. I hope TNT or whoever does this next year finds a commentating group that actually remembers it's an exhibition and calls it like so.

What the fuck is this. Somebody who doesn't know the facts iand a fucking 14 year old who likely knows nothing about the past are here talking shit about MJ, and everyone's taking it like a slice of Pie. Allow me to rhetort.

David Stern is a smart man. He knows that their is a huge money making side to the NBA, his goal is to make money, correct? Micheal Jordan, who is responsible for the NBA you see today, is in his last year of his career. So what the fuck did you expect to happen? For his games not to be televised? He's on a Playoff team, a very talented team, so whats wrong with the NBA showing some of MJ's last games for the fans that want to see them? Theirs alot more I could say about this, but i'm tired and i'd like to move on.

Kenyan Martin? I would put Stackhouse, Rose, and Richard Hamilton over him based on statistics alone. I know tons of people like to say that Jordan wasn't an All Star this year, but how many of them have actually seen the Wizards Games? Their a playoff seed for a reason, his name be Jordan. Jordans had 2 games over 40 this season, and 5 games over 30, he makes his whole team better, and has the Wiz on the verge of the playoffs. ......Kenyan Martin?

Vince Carter went out like a true bitch. If your going to stand for something, than dont bitch out at the last second and fold to the pressure.

Tons more to come tommorrow, too tired right now to give this post what it deserves.

Ainge's non-stop bitching detracted from the Rookie - Sophomore game I felt. It's not even the main All-Star game. Let them do what they want and shut up you has been role player.

Ainge was annoying, but at least he wasn't hoarse. I'm sorry, although I find Charles Barkley hilarious, he should NOT have been working TV in the condition he was in. On Friday he was fine, then the next day he sounded like Dikembe Mutombo with the flu. They must have had someone they could bring out to add that shoot-from-the-hip factor. How about Tim Hardaway?

Ah..

Back when Jordan was with the Bulls, winning titles, and I was stuck watching the Bullets/Wizards suck year in and year out, I always thought it would be cool, yet impossible if Jordan could play for the Bullets/Wizards. Now hes playing for em and I could care less! How is that for some irony?

I can't wait til next year when Jordan is back to being the owner of the Wizards (or not..) and there are some players on the Wizards roster not named Jordan..

Oh, and the bigger highway robbery, whether ya like it or not, is that Shaq didn't start. The only reason Ming started is because Half the population of china voted for him..couldn't have been the Houston Rockets fans.

A few thoughts....

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Iverson for MVP yet. If the East had won they probably would've given it to Jordan, but Iverson is the one that deserved it. It seemed like the entire time he was on the court, he either scored or made a pass that lead to a score. He seemed to never miss either. I can't believe so many people are looking over what he did. Everybody here watching it was in awe at that guy. McGrady was my pick going into the game, and he played well, but he didn't touch Iverson. 35 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 steals, he was everywhere. He didn't give a damn that every single guy on the West team was 7 foot tall, he drove right at them anyway and scored. McGrady didn't seem to do much but hang out at the 3 point line and shoot.

Why in the world does anybody think that Jermaine O'Neal getting a bad foul called on him in a exhibition game will have any effect on his career or hype?

I don't like Carter OR Jordan but Carter didn't deserve to start, I don't care what the fans said. At least Jordan has done in the past something to deserve it. Carter has never done anything to even be on the ballot except dunk.

The way the East tried to give Jordan a game winning shot for what seemed like 5 or 6 times was pathetic. If they would've let one of the hot guys take some of those shots, the game would've ended a lot earlier with a East victory. Instead they cost themselves the game trying to send Jordan out on top. It's even stupider when you realize that Jordan is still going to be playing for 3 or 4 more months, so this isn't going to "send him out" on top or anything else. He's gonna go out a loser regardless because the Wiz either won't make the playoffs or they'll go out in the first round. And what happens if he decides to play one more season? Do it all over again next year?

The only thing that really pissed me off about this game was that it was in Atlanta. Those fans have got to be the worst fans in the country. Not only did they get the all-star game, but they got arguable one of the biggest and best all-star games. They get a double overtime thriller that was competitive all the way through. People complain and complain that the players don't seem to compete hard in the all-star game, this year they did. How do the Atlanta fans react? By sitting on their hands all night. Except when Jordan touched the ball and chucked up brick after brick. When it went into the second overtime there was no crowd reaction to it at all. No cheer for getting to see such a great and historic game. It was like, "jeez, I paid 200 dollar for these tickets and I have to sit here for ANOTHER 5 minutes?? Refund!" I wish every sports team would leave that city. Bring the Hawks up here, I'll go see them. I don't give a rat's ass if they win or lose. Places like here would just love the chance to have a NBA team to take for granted.

Lethargic you see shocked that Atlanta is a bad sports town.

I'm still icing my shoulder after correctly predicting KG would win the MVP.

Im glad to see this Jordan hate. Such encouraged idol worship is why I hate the NBA . Their game is all about the individual and not the team.

Here's the kicker: Jordan isnt the greatest BBall player of all time. Stop believing everything ESPN tells you. Wilt Chamberlain was so dominant that the game was CHANGED around him. Plus, he nailed all those chicks.
