Guest redneckBEBE Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Mine would have to be SummerSlam 1991, versus Bret for the I.C. title. Hennig's bumping for Bret was unbelievable, especially considering that he had a badly injured back.

Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I will go with Bret/Perfect from KOTR 1993. I adore that match.
EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Ric Flair/Curt Hennig from RAW. It sent Flair on his way and was the most awesome end to that feud I can possibly think of.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I'm going to guess that's what most people will pick. Hennig had a lot of good to great bouts with everyone from Tito Santana to Hulk Hogan to Flair to Bret to Piper...and the list goes on and on. But that bout with Bret is in a class all its own. Even in WCW, while most of the established guys sat back and collected their paychecks, he had some quality bouts with Flair, DDP, Benoit, Malenko, Jarrett, etc. If I didn't pick Summer Slam 91, I'd go with the Loser Leaves the WWF bout with Ric Flair from the Manhattan Center. I have the distinct privilege of having my high school graduation held in the same arena Curt claimed to have his best match ever in - the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, AK. The year was 1989 and his opponent that night was Bret Hart.
Guest Hitman Jebus Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I will go with Bret/Perfect from KOTR 1993. I adore that match. That's the one! Yep, they topped the SSlam 91 one...if you haven't seen it...WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR? IMO...SSlam 91 (****) KOTR 93 (*****)
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted February 11, 2003 i go with the Bret match at SS 91, like i said in the general folder, just a great match and one of my favorites. i still can't believe this...
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Any of those three would be my choice for best Mr. P match. As for my favourite, I gotta go with Savage/Perfect vs. Flair/Razor from Survivor Series 1992. It was the first time I ever saw a WWF event live on PPV, and I have very fond memories of that match. In fact, most of my great Mr. P memories stem from the Flair/Savage feud. Damn, this is going to make Perfect/Blazer from WM5 nearly impossible to watch now. Guest tpww7 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Tie between Him- Bret from Slam 91 and the match with Flair on Raw in early 93.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 11, 2003 For quality alone, It's Summer Slam 1991, but for the emotional punch...It's Raw 1993 with Flair. I sort of want to revist some classic Henning matches but I really don't know if it's too soon to do so.... Perfect...Wow...Just makes you sad...I hope for Wrestling's Sake and the Henning legancy this wasn't Steroid or Alcholol related but I must be realistic. Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted February 11, 2003 obviously for quality you've got the bret hart 91 & 93 matches for great angles and insane heat the perfect/savage vs. flair/razor survivors 92 match and raw 93 vs. flair but for sheer markout value, i gotta go rumle 2002, swatting the gum away while austin & hhh work him over in the ropes, then ending up in the last three. i genuinely believed - for a split second - he might win it. now that is suspension of disbelief. Guest TheCynicalHateMongerFromHell Report post Posted February 11, 2003 The Rumble return in 2002 couldn't have gone better for Hennig. I loved it, my friends loved it. Unfortunately, for some reason, he started to get terrible reactions from the crowd. I think that took the wind out of Hennig's sails as he dropped back into a below-average worker. So I'll say RR02 was my favorite Hennig moment.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Perfect/HBK SummerSlam 93 All the others have been mentioned. R.I.P. Curt Ugh ... Now with all due respect to both men, that has to be my least favorite Perfect match. An awesome feud with a pitiful blow off. A count-out???? A count-out???? Were I a few years older, I'd bet money that he would three-peat!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I remember looking at my best friend in total disbelief when We saw Henning swat the gum and Saw nearly pull off the upset after dumping Austin. I was so Convinced he was gonna be in a Main event angle with Austin before Austin dealt with NWO.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 My favorite Hennig match is the Flair one form Raw in early 1993. But I agree with others that my fav. moment is Royal Rumble 2002. I was marking like crazy when he helped elminate Austin and then hti the Perfect Plex on Angle. Like others have said for a split second he made you believe that he might actually pull it off. And I still think if they gave Hennig/Austin proper build and 20 minutes at No Way Out they would've put on one hell of a match.
Guest nl5xsk1 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 If I'm allowed to pick a non-WWE/WWF match, it would have to be Hennig & Baron Von Raschke vs. the Road Warriors from 1985. It's certainly not his best match, but in terms of historical significance it's still got to be my favorite. Plus, I was a huge Hennig mark back in his AWA days. RIP Curt. Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 All the good ones were mentioned! I still can't get over this...remember when he was a color commentator for WWF? I always expected him to come back to the WWF as a color commentator since they're so short on them right now (Lita and Cat aren't gonna last)... Sad thing is his last nationally televised match was a horrible axehandle on a poll match vs. David Flair that is an early worst match of the year. That's too bad... Guest papacita Report post Posted February 11, 2003 My favorite match was definitely the match with Flair from 93. It was a fucking crime not to nominate that at Raw X. And for the record, Curt as a commentator could be funny as hell. *Ahmed Johnson beats up Owen Hart and Dean Douglas* Curt: Hey, I like this guy, McMahon! *Ahmed tries to slam Yokozuna and fails* Curt: Ahh this guy is terrible! Vince: But...you just said that you were impressed with Ahmed Johnson! Curt: Well when he's up he's good, when he's down he's bad!

Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I have to say KOTR 93... ...because I was there live! 13 years old and two of my favorite going for 20 minutes. Needless to say I was loving every minute of it.
Guest Sykotic2002 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I think he was suppose to face Ian Harrison and Jimmy Hart in a handicap match. All the matches are great that everyone listed, but I'll list an angle. THE WEST TEXAS REDNECKS. Those videos they made were great. I thought Hennig had great matches with Nick Bockwinkle in the AWA. I also liked the match he had with Tito Santana on a SNME for the IC Title. Of course you can't forget his match with Bret at SS '91.

Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Perfect Vs Bret, SummerSlam 91' Perfect Vs Bret, KOTR 93' Perfect Vs Flair, Raw (IC Champion) Perfect (w/ The Brain in his corner) Vs Tito Santana on Saturday Nights Main Event for the Title.
Guest creativename Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I was so Convinced he was gonna be in a Main event angle with Austin before Austin dealt with NWO. Me too. I was seriously psyched for that--Hennig was one of my favorites as a kid. I was very disappointed when Hennig was turned into a jobber afterwards, especially since those are now his last appearance of any sort in the WWE. And while there is no particular match that sticks out as the best in my mind, Perfect was a terrific worker, and his over-selling was fitting at times. It's a shame that he was held down due to politics and never got the championship like he was scheduled to. Mr. Perfect would have made a tremendous WWF world champion. Guest evilhomer Report post Posted February 11, 2003 There's too many great matches for one to come to my mind right now, but I've got two favorite moments that really stick out. Number one is of course the gum spit and swat at the RR. I was amazed because about 90% of the people at the bar I was at recognized it and marked out. Number two would have to be a Saturday Nights Main Event when he teamed with Lonny Poffo against Hogan and someone else. He set Hogan up for the Perfect-plex, nailed it and gets the one, two.... no. Still maintaining the bridge, he releases one hand to grab the ref's arm before he can bring down the three. He then asks Poffo if he wants the win. This one amazed me because Hogan was simply unbeatable at this time and not only did Perfect hold him down for more than three, he also treated the unbeatable Hogan like a total jobber that could be pinned at his leisure. I hated his fucking guts when he did this and was so glad when Hogan hulked up and got the eventual win. Even as a young mark like this I hated his character and loved to see him take those bumps and get his ass kicked around.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I loved when he was an announcer, and he'd throw up his pen and catch it in the gum-swat style. Just had me marking out every time.
