Guest RicFlairGlory Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 More news is starting to come in regarding the death of Curt Hennig. Hennig was said to be having severe gas pains the night before his death (Sunday). On Monday morning, referee Mickey Jay invited Curt to breakfast, but Hennig declined and opted to stay in bed. At around 1PM, the wrestlers set to appear on Jimmy Hart's show in Tampa met, but Hennig was not there. Davie "The Cuban Assassin" Sierra and his wife went back to Curt's hotel room to see what had happened. Nobody answered the door so they got the maid to open the room, and then discovered Curt's body. -411 Wrestling
Guest Eagan469 Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 bad gas = possible mistaking of chest pains for heartburn = heart attack
EL DANDY~! Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 That's usually how it goes...if the heartburn gets severe, then it leads to the heart attack...damn...
Guest JMA Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Man, next month was his birthday, too. Truly a tragic situation.
Guest Retro Rob Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 That's usually how it goes...if the heartburn gets severe, then it leads to the heart attack...damn... Not exactly. Heartburn actually has nothing to do with one's heart. Heartburn is simply stomach acid working it's way up into your esophogaus, which results in a burning in your chest. Some people who are not entirely familiar with the symptoms of a heart attack mistake them as heart burn either because they are in "denial" so to speak of the serious pain, or just don't know any better. As for what heartburn leads to, usually ulcers and damage to your esophogaus. Sorry, but I'm an ER nut.
Guest Ace309 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Wow. Gas pains are usually a sign of- Dammit, you all beat me to it.
Guest RicFlairGlory Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Somehow this time I dont think it was a contest, Ace...
Guest Downhome Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I predict they'll say he died of a heart attack in his sleep, and his mistook the gas and whatnot as nothing major. He woke up, felt really bad and thought it was gas and needed to sleep it off, and then he never woke up.
Guest bob_barron Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Hopefully he died peacefully in his sleep
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I don't mean to make light of things and be a total asshole, so please don't flame me for this, but a friend of mine had a theory that he might've choked on his gum. I don't know..it would just be an ironic twist. In all seriousness though, the first two things that ran through my head were Heart attack or drugs. I'd never really heard anything about Hennig having an extravagant drug habit or anything, but it's definitely something that needs to be considered whenever someone dies young like that. Especially someone famous.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Maybe his Appendix exploded? Lots of people die from that. They think the pain is just a bad Stomach ache and do nothing about it until it's too late.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Appendicitis doesn't come on like that in a matter of a couple hours though. At least not that I'm aware of. Just reading the info above, and I'm pretty positive it was a heart attack. Pretty young, but it happens like that.
Guest BDC Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Appendicitis can come on very quickly. It just usually takes time for it to rupture.
Guest Downhome Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I think all of us should really take this time to sit back and reflect on life as a whole. If, in theory, he was not on drugs, was in perfect health, and then he just felt gassy, and died the next day in his sleep, it makes me want to just think about many things. One minute you are here and fine, and the next it's your time. I don't mean to sound like a puss, but you get the idea.
Guest Ace309 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Well, in any event, it took a load off my mind, since on the surface, at least, it looks like drugs weren't involved. I don't know why, but I'm just glad that his death wasn't marred by that.
Guest gthureson Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Appendicitis can come on very quickly. It just usually takes time for it to rupture. I was feeling fine the night before I went into the hospital for appendicitis. The next morning it felt like wicked stomach flu. Luckily, my roommate at the time had had appendicitis, and asked my specific questions about the pain I had in my abdomen. Within twelve hours of being admitted to the emergency room, I was in surgery to have it removed because it was getting ready to rupture. So thats 24 hours from feeling fine to having it removed as an emergency procedure. Not saying thats what happened to Hennig, and it doesn't feel like gas, but yeah, it can happen that quick.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 This sucks reading this as I woke up with the worst stomach ache.
