Guest JMTapes Report post Posted February 11, 2003 Does anybody know what the average championship belt weighs? Say the '98-'02 WWF Title, or the US Title (which I have heard 40 lbs, probably BS). I've always wondered this as I've wanted one since I was very young. Thought it might be interesting. Thanks-Jim www.jmtapes.com
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2003 I always heard that the old WWF title was 10 pounds, but that seems kind of light.
Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted February 12, 2003 My friend bought a replica WCW US title a while back. I'd say it's around 7 lbs, it's not very heavy at all. The real deal probably doesn't weigh a whole lot more.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Report post Posted February 12, 2003 well the replica belts are made of metal and are about 7lbs and the real belts are made of gold and weigh about 15 lbs
Guest eiker_ir Report post Posted February 12, 2003 they probably weight the same as those Deluxe replica belts that they sell at some places, u can check that out.
Guest dpac Report post Posted February 12, 2003 this probaly does not help much, but a few years back when xpac and kane were tag champs i asked xpac if they got to keep the belts, and he said no, and was glad b/c they weighed too much to carry around
Guest Showstoppa Icon Report post Posted February 12, 2003 WCW ULTRA DELUXE REPLICA BELT this weighs 11, and since the real ones are gold not metal i imagine the real ones are from 15-20....unlike the 30lbs of gold tony schivonne is quoted as saying
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted February 12, 2003 On RAW the night after he won the title at Wrestlemania XIV, Austin dropped the old belt on Vince's foot and he looked to be in pain. I think they legitimately weigh at least 20-25 pounds.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted February 12, 2003 Vince was also selling it like a mofo, since he was such an awesome character at the time.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted February 12, 2003 The only one title I could see being above 25lbs is probably the World Title. But I'm talking maybe like a few more pounds. Maybe 27lbs.
Guest caboose Report post Posted February 12, 2003 I remember Triple H making a comment (early 1999) about the Rock, saying that the last time he and the Rock got it on, Triple H left MSG 15lbs heavier (SummerSlam 1998). Take that for what you will.
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted February 12, 2003 I'm pretty sure Ric Flair made some comment about "15 lbs. of Gold" when referring to the new Undisputed Championship belt back in April.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted February 12, 2003 Gold is pretty heavy, so I could see it being in the 25-30 pound range for the World Titles.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2003 *Ahem*... As someone who has held the REAL WWF and WCW Titles, I can attest that they are indeed in the 15-20 pound range. How did I do this you ask? Well, at Axxess at last years Mania (which was a total waste of my time except for this moment), I got Chris Jericho's autograph. He had both World Titles with him on the table. I looked at them and said "so those are the real titles huh". Jericho: "yep". Me: "Can I hold them for a sec?" Jericho: "Sure". I picked them up...they were quite heavy. Security looked like they were about to rip my balls off so I put them back down. Dames
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted February 12, 2003 Oh come on, Dames. If WWE security can't even catch a streaker who they KNEW was going to run out there, they wouldn't have done anything to you.
Guest ConchairtoHead Report post Posted February 12, 2003 streaker??? and also, the belts arent pure gold.. The metal used is zinc something or other, and they are coated in gold. go to the yahoo group Championship_Belt_Collectors to find out more, as the offical WWE Belt maker is a member there and will be more than happy to answer your questions. I gather you didn't watch Smackdown. That explains why it is lighter then.
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted February 12, 2003 Wasn't the WCW title refered to as being 33 lbs of gold?
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted February 12, 2003 Wasn't the WCW title refered to as being 33 lbs of gold? Of course, NOTHING in wrestling is EVER exaggerated...
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted February 13, 2003 If it means anything, in ECW Shane Douglas said his cock can hold up the 10 pound world title.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted February 13, 2003 I remember hearing the term "16 pounds of gold" several times.
Guest JMTapes Report post Posted February 13, 2003 Thanks guys. I recently bought a WCW title replica on ebay. It's only listed at 5 lbs, but obviously its not the real deal. Can't wait to see it, though. Oh well. -Jim www.jmtapes.com
