Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Zachary Gowen, who performed on recent NWA-TNA: Total Nonstop Action broadcasts as “Tenacious Z”, has accepted an offer from the WWE and is expected to begin working with them as early as this weekend. Everyone involved with TNA Entertainment wishes this courageous young man the very best of luck as he continues to pursue his dream.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Do you expect Vince to use a one-legged wrestler as a)A young man with a disability making his way up in a very physical world soley on heart and determination. This will endear him to the audience and make him not only a fan favourite, but an inspiration. or b)A kid who gets his leg ripped off by Bill Demott or (insert hoss here) and comes back for revenge. or c)Some lame comedy spot where it's the equivalent of midget wrestling in the WWE. 'a' doesn't look so great, now does it. "He IS a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest!" -JR "HAHAHAHHA" - JR
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Lawler: "He's got 1 leg, JR!" (repeat 50 more times during the match) Oh, yeah, choice "c"

Guest converge241 Report post Posted February 14, 2003 if hes on Raw you get the aforementioned non sop stuff from Lawler "his opponent has a leg up on him" on Smackdown Cole: "what is the relationship between z and his invisible other leg?" HHH might hold him down out of jealousy,, after all his one leg is better than trips' two
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted February 14, 2003 He should become one of O'Haire's Projects.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted February 14, 2003 can you imagine a large WWE audience reaction the first time they see him and if he walks with the prosthetic and takes it off?? i think thats going to be quite a reaction seeing as so many people would have no idea about who he is
Guest Paranoid Report post Posted February 14, 2003 He has as much shot of making it in the WWE as a one-legged man in an ass kickin contest! Sorry, I had to say it!

Guest notJames Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Well, judging from the past endeavors of WW_ to "push the envelope"... Katie Vick HLA Billy and Chuck Mark Henry's fetishes Mae Young's hand birth ... things do not bode well for Tenacious Z. I also have doubts about the average mark's acceptance of such an "oddity". On the plus side, at least he's not another hoss.
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Man, oh man. You guys are just unfreaking-lievable. If the WWE doesn't put the Tenacious one down, you would.
Guest jester Report post Posted February 14, 2003 The plus: he will probably make a lot more money. The negative: he'll probably get punked out by Undertaker as part of some "Big Show told me to tell you you suck, and that I'll be safe because you won't hurt a one-legged man" angle. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted February 14, 2003 Something I picked up by reading another board: All this talk about the WWE wanting to keep the guys in character & protect kayfabe & not expose the business, and they go out and SIGN A GUY WITH 1 LEG! In the words of John Stewart, "Whaaaa?"
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted February 14, 2003 What does a guy with one leg have to do with kayfabe or exposing the business. Also no one here is putting him down. We're all just saying how Vince will exploit him.
Guest MD2020 Report post Posted February 14, 2003 ... Oh, god, this could be either good or VERY bad. Good luck, Z, you deserve this opportunity! As long as Vince doesn't give him an awful gimmick. I'm not really sure there is any sort of gimmick you could put on the kid. I mean, marks aren't going to say: "Hey, that wrestling plumber (or pig farmer, or blueblood) only has one leg!" It'll be "Hey, that guy only has one leg" Now the angle, that's a whole other story. Best of luck to him. It'd be nice if he could be in some sort of program in which he overcame the odds and won a minor championship, like the Hardcore or European belt, but they no longer exist because they had to be merged into Triple H's Double-Super Fantastic World Belt.
