Guest Kid Kablam Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Booker t is far from a great worker technically, but I find him entertaining and he can work a better match than undertaker, hogan, steiner and triple h who are currently in top card roles. So I'm not gonna bitch if he ever gets pushed. I mean, I think RVD is horribly overrated, but at least he's something different. Regal used to be good but just has zero motivation and his feud with edge was painful to watch at times. If they want to get this bland team over he needs more promo time, that's all he has to offer these days. Same goes for christian. I was a big fan of both, but through being wasted and only being given 3 minutes a week if they are lucky, they don't give a crap anymore. I'm not saying they aren't to blame for bad matches, but it's not entirely their fault. Also morale on RAW must be at an all time low. I can't imagine that anyone's too pumped for their matches anymore especially when it comes to the tag division.

Soon after he turned heel again, everyone was praising him in the 8-man tag match (the one where Test defeated Undertaker). He did look good in that match, but he returned to suck soon after.

YES!"- Flair, when Orton and Batista and HHH beat up Steiner, acting as if his master plan had came together (which it hadn't.)

If we're talking in-ring skill I can rattle 20 names off the top of my head that are better then Ric Flair. I'm not argue your point about HBK though.

Here is how I see Ric Flair: Entertaining but not exciting. His offense was basic, he threw in a woo and a beg here and there and a 'shuddup fatboy' for good measure, and then it was the same song and dance.

But that was years ago. Now Flair does a 10 minute promo hyping the PPV one week as the demigod that he is, then next week its wooooooooooo this is how HHH spit water boys, then Flair the Limo driving, Lear Jet Flying, ***** Hotel staying elite. But recently Flair seems to be the butler for the Triple Threat H Team as he coordinates the clothes.

Guest saturnmark4life Posted February 16, 2003 Report Posted February 16, 2003 Flair was always a better showman than wrestler, but he popularised the USA heel act as we've known it for the last 20 or so years. And dreamer is so much better as an actual wrestler than people give him credit for. In the rumble he was in there for approximately 30 seconds, but the crowd was still upset when he got dumped. Granted, it's cos he was caning people, but getting over in less than a minute isn't something anyone can do. And he's capable of putting on a solid match, as he did with CW anderson towards the end of ECW and numerous times on heat. He'll never be the best, but he knows his way around a ring. Like rhyno, he just uses the basics of psychology to make matches more watchable.

From his days as Lionheart in WAR, to the rock-star persona in ECW, to his heelish antics in WCW to his current status as RAW saviour in WWE. -Jericho vs Benoit, J-Cup 95 - Jericho vs Ultimo Dragon (can't give exact date, but it's available for DL on Kazaa and a damn good match) - Jericho vs Douglas vs Pitbull 2 vs Scorpio, ECW - Jericho vs Benoit, Royal Rumble 2001. - Jericho and Benoit vs Austin and HHH, WWF Tag Team Titles. Mutoh is questionable, no doubt, but the guy was the anchor of New Japan in the 80's and early to mid-90's. He, Chono and Hashimoto made a ton of money for that promotion and carried it to dominance over All Japan many times over. Proven in-ring skills against guys like Steamboat, Sting, Vader, Hase and Tenryu.

Mutoh was hardly an "anchor" in the 80s, and although he was a big star his in-ring performances leave a little bit to be desired. Sure, there were exceptions most notably against Chono in 91 and G-1 Final against Hash.

Mutoh has always been fun, and was probably a better athlete in his day, but I can't put him above Flair. For me, jericho and benoit were both quite average around the super J cup. I've always enjoyed jericho's heel act but he never grabbed me as a face. And benoit was damn good but dull. Apart from the wildbomb. bwahaaha you dead. And jericho has fucked up a fair few spots in his time. With more exposure they will achieve Flair-esque greatness, and benoit will always be the better wrestler, but they haven't finished developing yet. I agree with a few on you list though, curry.
