Guest The Tino Standard Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Raw is scheduled for Nationwide Arena in Columbus tomorrow night. For those of you not in the area, central and southern Ohio have been getting absolutely BLASTED with snow and horrible weather all weekend. Level 2 and Level 3 emergencies have been declared in and around the area. For example, Athens (home of Ohio University, where I'm located) is a little over an hour southeast of Columbus. We've been in a Level 3 all day, with 8-12 inches more of snow and frozen rain expected tomorrow. All our roads are closed, except for critical emergencies. I remember a couple years ago when the Smackdown tapings had to be pushed back a day in either Washington or Baltimore because of a snowstorm. The taping schedule allowed for that kind of flexibility. Now I think Columbus is in slightly better shape weather-wise than we are, so things SHOULD be ok. But if the Columbus weather worsens a little and Raw (a live show, mind you) gets washed out by snow tomorrow night, what's plan B?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 8- 12 inches? I wish I lived in a place where 2-3 feet meant everything closed down. God do I wish.
EL DANDY~! Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 This doesn't equal anything good...but then again, knowing how bad RAW has been in the last few weeks, a snowstorm might do them good
Guest redbaron51 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 8-12 inches is nothing 2-3 feet is nothing... 4 feet then we close down... Solution: Put on an older Raw-Re-Run (like from 98) and I bet it'll get higher ratings than before
EL DANDY~! Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Why not put on the great 4/21/97 RAW match when Austin and Hart were going mad? It would build up the unpredictability of Austin for Sunday.
Guest Eagan469 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 We've been in a Level 3 all day, with 8-12 inches more of snow and frozen rain expected tomorrow. *laughs* Have you seen snow before? It doesn't kill ya...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Yes, Eagan and I mock you and your small portions of snow
Guest The Tino Standard Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 It's not the snow, dumbasses, its the ice. We had 8 inches of snow down already, then last night there was freezing rain, leaving a nice 1/2 inch thick layer of solid ice. And it has been alternating ice and snow ever since. Now, my hometown is on the east side of Cleveland, about 3 hrs north of here. Up there, it's like you guys... You need more than that to cause problems. But we're talking southern and central Ohio, which don't get a lot of snow. So when they DO, it is a real pain in the ass. There is a serious lack of equipment to deal with it. So, go ahead and make your smarmy remarks from Green Bay or Antarctica or wherever the hell you live about this being "nothing," but if Raw gets postponed tomorrow and you get a re-run of Heat and Confidential in back to back hours to fill the timeslot, don't say I didn't warn you.
Guest Choken One Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 It's SERIOUSLY FUCKED down in Southern Ohio...My road has legit 4 inches of Ice...we've shut down the entire town... If they DO call the Show if the Storm continues...Expect a Hype Job...and Rehashed footage of the last month...
Guest Downhome Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 If we get any ammount of ice, or a dusting of snow, we shut down everywhere.
Guest Brian Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Might as well. Joe Millionaire is two hours long tomorrow.
Guest Choken One Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Yeah good point...Any takers on what this HUGE SURPRISE is? I'm betting the Butler is the Millionaire.
Guest Eagan469 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 So, go ahead and make your smarmy remarks from Green Bay or Antarctica or wherever the hell you live about this being "nothing," but if Raw gets postponed tomorrow and you get a re-run of Heat and Confidential in back to back hours to fill the timeslot, don't say I didn't warn you. It's Buffalo homeslice
Guest Nater Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 They could film HHH slipping on a patch of ice and bowling over Steph and Orton looped for 2 hours and I'd mark out.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 They could film HHH slipping on a patch of ice and bowling over Steph and Orton looped for 2 hours and I'd mark out. That was genius. If there's no Raw, I'd love to see a two-hour "Best of" (and a real Best Of, not a show featuring the Raw TLC match) show. Either that, or a Steve Austin retrospect, complete with clips from 97 would kick ass. They'll probably still do Raw, pending that the wrestlers can get to the arena. Even if it's in front of 10 fans, it'd be better for them because NWO is on Sunday.
Guest Choken One Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 It make more sense just to have it "Due to Circumstances, We won't be able to bring you WWE Raw Live" And either A). Re-air last Week B). Re-Air Raw X C). Two hours of Star Trek D). A Best of HHH Complitation... Any of these would happen...
Guest The Tino Standard Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Well, rather than continuing this heated debate about dick- I mean SNOWSTORM size, I went and checked into some stuff that might actually be pertinent as to whether or not we get a show tomorrow night. Raw was scheduled for a house show in Huntington, W. Va. today at 5 p.m. Now, that area is getting it just as bad as we are in southern Ohio from what I've seen on the news. Not sure if the Huntington show was completed or not, but if the wrestlers have to go from Huntington to C-bus tonight, well... godspeed, fellas.
Guest lomasmoney Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 yeah most of my family lives in cincy and they have no idea how to cope with the weather their having right now
cawthon777 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 D). A Best of HHH Complitation... Only if that includes: - the Hogpen match - the squash vs. Warrior at Mania XII - vs. Bob Holly at Summer Slam 95 - submitting to Bret on Raw prior to Mania XII - the Best of 5 Russo-esque gimmick gauntlet against Rock, Show, Kane, Taker, and Mankind - the dry humping of Kane's dead whore - and lots and lots of promos hyping the debut of Hunter Hearst Helmsley
Guest razazteca Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Do they tape house shows anymore? Could they just have Mean Gene host a best of show.
Guest Choken One Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 With no time? I might be hard to spurn a Best of Show in short time...They likely won't get the word until about Noon...To get the news to TNN... TNN has the power to say...O.K...We'll just keep playing Star Trek or let WWE quickly throw 2 hours of TV together(***Ingores Obvious Statement***). Yes...Us in Cincy are clueless about what to do with this weather...
Guest Choken One Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Do they tape house shows anymore? Could they just have Mean Gene host a best of show. For legal purposes they likely do...but it's not Quality footage for National Air time...
Guest steelbell97 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 I live in Martins Ferry, Ohio which is right across from Wheeling, West Virginia and there is over 20 inches out there right now and some places have 3 feet in snow drifting. There is a level 3 emergency in Belmont county which means nobody is allowed on the roads but emergency vehicles. West Virginia is on a state of emergency with flooding problems in the south and hammered with snow every where else.
Guest treble charged Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Well, I don't care about this week's Raw, but there had better fucking be one next week.
Guest wwF1587 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Well if they dont do RAW tommarow they have to do it Wednsday or Friday... Tuesday and Thursday are SD! days... i guess you could have it then but why compete with yourself...
Guest Vern Gagne Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Yeah good point...Any takers on what this HUGE SURPRISE is? I'm betting the Butler is the Millionaire. Joe Millionaire is offered a million dollars to walk away from the girl he picks.
Guest wwF1587 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 i guess this will be the topic of tommarows lunch break..
Guest MaxPower27 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 They'll show two hours of HHH sitting in his hotel room, watching Joe Millionaire. OMG RATINGZ~~~!
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 Yeah, who cares about Raw?? I'll be watching Joe Millionaire and flipping to Raw during the commercials. It will be a scandalous Monday night to say the least.
Guest Trivia247 Posted February 17, 2003 Report Posted February 17, 2003 8- 12 inches? I wish I lived in a place where 2-3 feet meant everything closed down.
