News On Jericho's No Way Out Match

According to our own Calvin Martin, expect Jeff Hardy vs. Chris Jericho to be announced on SmackDown! this Thursday for a match at Sunday's No Way Out pay-per view.

 

Originally, WWE was planning on going with Chris Jericho vs. Test to follow-up the injury angle involving Stacy Keibler. However, due to some heat on both Test and Stacy for missing last night's RAW, that match was scrapped.

 

WWE is holding off on the Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels match because they want it at WrestleMania, and the fact that Michaels, the babyface, wouldn't exactly be well-received in Montreal ('97 screwjob ring a bell?). So, WWE decided to go with Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy based on the mini-angle they started on last night's RAW with Hardy ending his losing streak by pinning Jericho in the tag-match.

Yeah, I doubt jeff can even work a ppv-length match anymore. Booker-Jericho is so painfully easy to do it isn't funny. Hopefully booker gets the title shot at mania though, even if there's more chance of me performing a duet with Andrew WK covering 'we built this city on rock and roll' than him going over.

Jericho and Hardy have had 2 long-ish matches on RAW (last week and November, I believe) and they both were horribly boring since Jericho had to do all the work.

That's what I'm saying. I for one am sick of the Hardy/Jericho and the matches they have had blew.

Jericho-Hardy doesnt deserve to be on ppv, IMO. Whats going to happen that furthers any story this program has? They pushed it to their limits last week on Raw. I would just have left that spot empty and given more time to other matches.

They should've had Jericho against HBK.Jericho would've gone over with interference.Then have the rematch at WM,where Jericho should've gone over clean.But it's the WWE,they always fuck up something.

 

Jericho against Hardy is gonna be boring and it's gonna suck.They should either fire Jeff or let him take a couple of months off.The man is a total trainwreck.It will really take a miracle for this to be a good match.

Anybody facing HBK would get cheered in Montreal. Herman Goering would get cheered if he wrestled HBK.

if WWE has heat with Test, why not let Jericho squash/dismantle him at the ppv? You punish Test, AND put Jericho over strong for his match with HBK. AND Jericho would get cheered also in being Canada. It's a win win situation for all (except Test ).

 

Of course that would be too smart.

I'm confused about something though. OK, Test and Stacy are out because Heaven forbid they forego an extra day at home to beat the weather.

 

But is this a push for Jericho or a burial? And if it's a burial, why does he get punished because Test and Stacy are stuck in Baltimore?

But Test would still get the payfay from the PPV. This way, he doesn't get a dime.

Jericho-Hardy will suck, and shouldn't be anywhere near a PPV card, but at least Jericho will get to actually win on a PPV, and no Test is hardly something to lose sleep over.

Agreed, and don't forget that since HBK is all of a sudden Hardy's mentor, this does actually build to the WM match. Whereas, the test match wasn't relevant at all, and was a huge waste of time. Unless you count pushing Test as worthwhile.
