I've heard All Black winger Tana Umaga pronounced as Umanga, and the guy Va'aiga is named after Va'aiga Tuigamala is known as Inga the Winger TOURNAMENT MATCH Geddion vs. Tryst Tryst. TOURNAMENT MATCH Geddion vs. Tryst Tryst has impressed with his off beat promo's and that first match was very good. Geddion on the other hand is brand new and while I don't hold that against him, it normally takes a match or two to get into the flow of things here. If Tryst writes, he should win. Still, props to Geddion for the name, which reminds me of something, but I just can't put my finger on it. Tryst TOURNAMENT MATCH Fosta vs. "Dark Rebel" Terry Wayne Fosta wrote a solid promo and in my opinion just needs a few matches under his belt. Terry Wayne has a solid gimmick, direction and I believe won his first match, but I gotta go Fosta here. Fosta TOURNAMENT MATCH David Blazenwing vs. Omega Storm Omega should get the win over the new JL member and I'm not counting David out because I haven't seen anything from him yet, but when Fury has time he should be feared. Don't believe me... find his return match from last year in the first person. You'll be afraid. Omega Storm TOURNAMENT MATCH Christian Blackwell vs. "Picture Perfect" Aaron Carpenter Well it's the battle of the could be ringers in my book. Blackwell is money I tell you and "Picture Perfect" has the picture perfect gimmick and stats to support my claim. Being a Grand Slam student is a great way to enter the league and this person, n00b or not, must have the skills to live up to the hype. "PP" AC TRIPLE THREAT FILLER MATCH WITH BADASS MAORI DEBUT Aecas vs. Va'aiga vs. Thor Aecas can't write, so its down to the former Chris Card, which was a great gimmick and Thor. Thor writes this character much better than the others he's come up with and Va'aiga is a badass. Toss up CRUISERWEIGHT RULES MATCH Sean Atlas vs. "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins vs. Matt Myers Atlas = really good. Holly can win almost any match if he writes to his ability, but the wildcard is Double M. Any of these guys can win, but the Saints Demise, it's a fuckin' DVD too which I mark for by the by, might be too much to tackle. Prove me wrong Matt and Spike, and get a REALLY big win, as I have questions about Atlas being a n00b too. #1 CONTENDER MATCH - SJL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES MATCH Dace Night vs. Janus Special Guest Commentator: El Luchadore Magnifico Janus is very good. Veeeery good. He, like a lot of people, slept on Mike's writing ability, but I think that opened his eyes to the talent pool and he'll continue showing why he's JL M7 (Boo! Hiss!). Dace could use the win and may get the World Title soon, but Janus is too good to pick against right now. Prove me wrong, as I think this really SHOULD be a match that you eek out a win in Dace. Janus MAIN EVENT BORDER RUN MATCH Mike Van Siclen vs. Crow It's not for the title and Mike writes his best in BIG matches, ie. Lost at Sea. The fuckin' bird to win and stay in the ME picture. Guest Powerplay Report post Posted February 21, 2003 TOURNAMENT MATCH Geddion vs. Tryst - From what I hear, Geddion has incredible talent, though from what I've seen, so does Tryst. It's going to be very close, but I think Tryst will edge out one of the many new guys. TOURNAMENT MATCH Fosta vs. "Dark Rebel" Terry Wayne - Oh, cool match. Terry has shown some good stuff, but I think Fosta is at his level. Being that I've only seen one match from either of them, it's basically a toss up. I say... Fosta for no good reason. TOURNAMENT MATCH David Blazenwing vs. Omega Storm - David has a cool new character, but Omega's former credentials are damn impressive. I kinda wish he'd write in first person again (That was really neat), but nevertheless, Storm will pick up his first win here. TOURNAMENT MATCH Christian Blackwell vs. "Picture Perfect" Aaron Carpenter - I am incredibly freaked/scared of both of these guys. Blackwell has showed everyone that he can bring the goods when he needs to, and Aaron's whole character freaks the hell out of me (He was trained by Grand Slam. GRAND FUCKING SLAM!). I think Aaron will certainly flourish, but Blackwell is the man I mark for the most. GO BLACKWELL! TRIPLE THREAT FILLER MATCH WITH BADASS MAORI DEBUT Aecas vs. Va'aiga vs. Thor - Well, unfortunately Aecas can't show, though it's forgivable since it isn't his fault. Card/Va'aiga is a great writer and I want to see how well he does with his berzerker hoss. People joked about Taft's abortions with his other characters, but he was a serious World Title threat with Thor. Personally, I think Thor will pull out a close win as he rises back up to the upper midcard/ME scene. CRUISERWEIGHT RULES MATCH Sean Atlas vs. "Hollywood" Spike Jenkins vs. Matt Myers - Arg. Tough call, for sure. Sean is the one guy who just came out of the gates on fire as a new guy, and I dunna if either of these veterans can really stop him. Matt is getting back into his niche, and I kinda want him to win here to gain back some momentum, but I think right now Spike is probably a bit better than him right now. Between Spike and Sean... Spike on a whim. #1 CONTENDER MATCH - SJL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES MATCH Dace Night vs. Janus Special Guest Commentator: El Luchadore Magnifico - MAN. This has the potential to be fantastic, and I'm certain the two writers will give it their all. I have to go with the Magnificent 7 homie in the SJL, though, Janus. GIVE'EM HELL, MAN! MAIN EVENT BORDER RUN MATCH Mike Van Siclen vs. Crow - Oh boy. This card is one of the most evenly matched ones in a long time, and this is one hell of a great gimmick match to end the World Tour. Whoever finds the funniest way to include the Border Police in their match will be the winner, and I have a feeling Crow has something delightfully hilarious cooked up.
