Do they change his character and if so...what?

Give him the original gimmick he had upon debuting in the WWE.

That was even more gimmicky...

I doubt it could work in the current WWE environment...back in 1998 they were very dark and shit...

THAN WHAT HE IS NOW?!?

He's the summation of every 1980's teen movie character, and he's playing a horribly-cheesy face.

He needs a heel turn.

Edge doesn't need a "gimmick" as anything would come off cheesy.

He just needs a more serious side to him and less acting like a jackass. Edge's act was great in E&C but it isn't working for him now that they keep trying to give him a serious push.

I would like to see Edge turn heel, but not as when he came to WWE. You can't go from face who likes Rob Zombie to being a goth. But a take-no-prisoners heel could work.

I agree with that...

I was just wondering how you bring him back? Video Package...Run in...Mystery Partner...what...just curious...

What do you mean u don't understand it?

What the hell was it supposed to accomplish? And why do I care?

Have Edge play the "No sympathy for my injury" card. That angle has worked before, but I'm struggling to find past examples.

Isn't it usually done by women?

On a side note, this reminds me of one of my least favorite angles that comes along every so often.

Two heels team up for a while, and one of the heels injures the other in a bastardy fashion. While the injured guy is out, the other guy turns face. When the guy finally returns and attacks the guy who hurt him, this makes him evil. The last time I remember it being done was Johnny the Bull and Big Vito. I never understood the logic in that. Okay, I'm done with my rant.

The gimmick he had upon entering the WWF - not the "Brood" gimmick.

The gimmick I'm talking about, is the the one based on the scenes still in his Titan-Tron video. The gimmick before Christian was even introduced as his "younger gothic brother". He lurked in the crowds for a good bit (might be too Sting-esque), but if he comes out and delivers good promos, it would work better.

It sucks that Edge got injuried. I mean, sure, I'm not the biggest fan of him. Yet, I wish him the best in his recovery and absence (meaning less time to heal). I really hope he's not gone long.

Edit In: Maybe Edge will just GET a gimmick right now. As he's just a little generic. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hm... I've got problems with each guy, but I also think I know how it might go down as to how they get each person to take Edge's place.

1) Rey - Yes, sure. Fans love him, but this match will do nothing for him, as it doesn't really elevate him. Plus, he's not really involved with either Team Angle or Kurt. Unless, of course, you count how many times Rey's jobbed to Kurt.

How I Think It'll Go Down: As has been stated before, have Team Angle beat down Edge on Heat, then have Rey tell Steph that he wants to take Edge's place, as Rey doesn't appreciate his friend getting beat down like that.

2) Eddie - Although, I'd really like him to come on down, I'm kinda figuring that Los Guerreros(sp?) would show up and interfere with Team Angle, but not actually be IN the match. Thus to further build on the Los Guerreros - Team Angle fued (they ARE having one right?).

How I Think It'll Go Down: If Eddie's the replacement, then Team Angle's gotta beat down BOTH Chavo and Edge. Why? Because if they don't beat down Chavo, then I'm expecting him to interfere. Beside, it would really make sure that Eddie has a neccessary motive. On top of that, if they still want the interference you can still always bring an "injuried" Chavo down ringside to help with the "Cheat 2 Win".

3) Rhyno - The guy's been gone for a year and a half. I'm a little worried about if he's ready yet. I'd rather have him actually wrestle a match live on Smackdown than pull a "Steiner" on us and not really be ready (Steiner's a lost cause though, Rhyno isn't). I'd rather he be given a chance to dust off the ring rust and be able to put on a preformance that is worthy.

How I Think It'll Go Down: (This is all done considering Rhyno was a face on a previous house show.) Ok, Edge still gets beat down by Team Angle. Steph calls Team Angle and Kurt down to her office and totally rips into them for injuring Edge and causing chaos to the Main Event. Of course, you'll then have Kurt and Team Angle make a show of how they're just trying to "soften" up their opponents. They don't have time to take luxeries. Steph smuggly says, "well Kurt. Sorry to tell you, but I found a replacement for Edge." Kurt will be wanting to know (and doing his spasming like only Kurt can), but Steph says she'd rather it be a surprise. So that when Rhyno comes out and surprises the fans (well, not some of us) it'll be an extra treat.

Ok, I'm rambling now. ...sorry, I do too much thinking lately.

I don't like the last two at ALL...Mysterio makes sense...

I am soundly convinced it NEEDS to be 3 vs 2...

Well, the last two sounded more like how the WWE would play it out.

But a 3 on 2 WOULD give everyone involved better overness (heck, I'm using EWR terms now, playing too much I guess). What I mean is, that it would be better because it puts over Team Angle as credible heels (they get rid of Edge, what more do you need to do), would make Benoit look good (then agian, when hasn't he lately?), and of course, the previously mentioned Brock beat down, and subsequent "is Brock ready for Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania"...

I reiterate, why do I care? Let him be a manager or something if he has to be on my TV doing that. He's really not even doing whatever it is that he's doing very well. That FIRST segment with Kendricks came off terribly.

The focus of the entire match should be on Angle/Lesnar

Not some tag feud between TWO HEEL TEAMS in Team Angle and Los Guerreros.

Not some cruiserweight feud between Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy; that feud will build itself on television in no time.

It's the BIG MATCH: Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle. Quite possibly the last "dream match" that hasn't been done yet, 'cept Austin/Hogan.

Don't give other wrestlers a chance to make some "half-assed booked" PPV return. Go with a handicap match, caused by Team Angle's decimation of Edge.

You forget Lesnar vs Austin could be considered a dream match. Yet, I'm not really sure I want it, but to most fans, it would be one.

Well, I only suggest it becuase you have Hogan vs Austin and they both are on opposite shows.

Edge will be out for a year says Meltzer.

According to Meltzer, Heyman is pushing for Rhyno to be the third guy should Edge be unable to wrestle.

If Edge is that hurt, you can't stick him out there with the basis that you'll keep him out of the ring for most of the match. They need to do that with Brock, so that they don't give too much of Brock/Angle away before WM.

Rhyno sounds good to me.

Damnit.

How can you actually be sad AS? You hated him before, and he has gotten worse over the past few months.

Honestly, I think he's gotten better. Maybe it's because they refuse to give him the mic, and he hasn't had ruined anyone in a terribly one sided feud in months now.

He's only fought A-Train and bored us to tears. Even against Team Angle he has looked terrible where others haven't. He is not all that great. He easily carryable, but thats it. I feel bad for his misfortune, but I won't miss him by any means.

Honestly, the injury is probably the best thing for him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not glad the poor guy got hurt, but time away from the ring is time to put him in the back of everyone's mind, and freshen his character for a return. The megapush of Edge will finally happen, when he's back and good to go.

Edge has looked fine against Team Angle and has sold massivley for them (as did Benoit) which is part of the reason they are somewhat over and have not been buried. Don't rag on Edge for that....

Edge being out makes the Smackdown 6 the Smackdown 5...with Rey's knees always on somewhat shaky ground and Benoit having nagging injuries this sucks massively.

Yes, the SD 6 - Los Guerreros, Benoit, Rey, Angle, and Edge.

Although, if Rhyno is fully healed and ready to go, then he MIGHT be the SD 7 (which is still SD 6, as Edge is injuried). Gotta wait and see.

All, I want to know is, how did Edge make the SD Alluminai (yes, I spelt that wrong, I know)?

Edge is out for a year? I thought he was having minor surgery. Crap, this sucks majorly. He's pretty young though (I think he's 29), so at least he has that going for him. Jesus, how many wrestlers have been injured in the last two years? Seriously, it's getting bad and pretty scary.

It's just that the WWE let a lot of guys build up on the wear and tear.

As for how many people have been injuried in the last two years?

I think only the people on Velocity and Heat (and I mean the regulars) have gotten away without some bad injury. I'm guessing everyone on the Raw and Smackdown rosters has been pretty banged up at one point or another in the last two years.

Allright, so here's a list of neck injuries only in the last year and a half or so: Benoit, Rhyno, Scotty 2 Hotty, Bob Holly, Lita and now Edge. Holy shit. And this is only neck injuries.

Guest Anglesault

Shall we move on to knees? That's a fun list as well. When you combine neck injuries with knee injuries, one might think there is something wrong with the ring.
