I think Rhyno is above being a mid-carder's bodygaurd, I think to would be a better role for an upcoming OVW guy, but I'll give it a chance.

Excellent role. Contrary to the beliefs of some, Rhyno is not ready to be chucked into the main events immediately on his return. His work as a foil to E&C was great, both in the ring and in promos. The possibility of Rhyno as an MF'er really works, and should help elevate both Rhyno and Matt.

I think it could work, with Matt being an antagonizing bastard who instigates trouble, just to have Rhyno beat the shit out of someone. It's a storyline that can write itself, and they could always turn Rhyno face by having him get sick of Matt's shit one day.

Good call Zack. I can see Matt coming out with the CW belt on, Kidman comes out wanting his rematch. Matt says, "Sure, but you gotta beat my MF'er first!" Billy, thinking it's Shannon, quickly agrees. But, Rhyno comes out of the crowd, gores him through the ringpost and first several rows of the crowd, and pind him in 30 seconds. Good television right there.

The problem is in 2 months or less, Rhyno will turn on Hardy, demolish him, and be put in the upper card after that. I have no problem with Rhyno in the upper card, but we all know that is the path he will take.

That's the same thing I was thinking. That could be hilarious. Shannon Moore loses a hard fought match gets up and Rhyno promptly gores him. The way Shannon Moore sells it will look like he just got ran over by a freight train.

If Heyman was writing Rhyno would get a mega push that he wouldn't be ready for. This way they can try to get Rhyno over first before pushing him to the moon

Folks, where was Rhyno when he went out? I may be hazy but hadn't he just get finished in the Hardcore belt chase with (among others) Raven, Test, and Big Show? Then the Invasion where he played Heyman and Steph's attack dog until the injury. He had some high profile matches (Y2J/Rock vs. Booker and Rhyno, for example) but he didn't seem to be an upper card, main eventer wrestler. On the cusp, but not quite there. Now, the main event scene is a bit clogged with guys that have come in since his injury (Brock, Hogan, maybe Rock in the short term). This will be a nice little upper midcard placeholder for him until someone leaves. Then he can go either face or heel and get the push to the upper card. Until then, enjoy watching Rhyno destroy cruisers and probably Shannon.

 

I would like to see Rhyno/Brock though. Don't let either one talk, just go out there and beat the shit out of each other.

He was on the verge of breaking through to upper midcard given his high profile matches with The Rock and Chris Jericho, respectively. It looked like they were pulling the trigger on a push, before he got hurt.

I think that if he was brought back in a big way, he could have been Main. He's a recognizable, over guy who just got over a huge injury. Did you hear the pops the few times he's been onscreen since the injury? They were pretty massive for a career heel.

 

I like both guys, so I'll probably enjoy their pairing, but I would rather have Rhyno back getting a big singles push.
