Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I like the idea. Hope it happens.
EL DANDY~! Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 It might help talent wise, but now, Hash and Mutoh have to find ways to integrate EVERYBODY into the mix, not just them and Tenryu. They have to get Kojima and Tanaka and Ohtani goin...
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Tenryu's practically on his way out.
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 what are they going to call it all japan 1 or zero japan pro wrestling
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 AJPW-1 most likely since Mutoh likes the number 1 alot.
Guest Jubuki Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Are you trying as hard as you can to look dumb? Or does this all come naturally for you?
Guest TheGame2705 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I don't see what's so dumb about this post honestly? Well sorta. I shoulda explained why I would like to see it happen.
Guest Black Tiger Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 It sounds like AJPW is trying to re-create the greatness of the AJPW/NJPW deal without the help of New Japan, at the time of the NJ/AJ merger, NJPW was number 1 and AJPW were a clear #3, with NOAH killing them. Now its three years later and NJPW and NOAH are still the top two feds, and AJPW is now at #4 with Zero-One at #3.\ This actually does more for Zero-One than it does for AJPW, Zero-One is now working with AJPW, and NOAH, so they'll always have a steady crop of talent for their shows, as well as the rumor of Nagata vs. Hashimoto for the 5/2 Dome show for Nagata's shot at being a V10 IWGP Champion. (Personally, I think it'll be Nagata vs. Takayama, but you never know)

(Personally, I think it'll be Nagata vs. Takayama, but you never know) I'd be inclined to agree with Nagata vs Takayama to be honest. Hashimoto's TC win changes the politics of this situation significantly. There's no way that AJPW is going to allow their champion to do the job to Nagata. If anything, Hashimoto would have to job the title back to Mutoh at 4/12 if they wanted Hash vs Nagata. Otherwise the safe bet is Takayama vs Nagata unification match (which makes the NWF Title Tournament pretty much useless).
Guest Sykotic2002 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 If they did do the merger, they would have to cut some talent because they would have to much with both rosters. So who would you let go?
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Are you trying as hard as you can to look dumb? Or does this all come naturally for you? ~ZING!~

So who would you let go? Are you serious? AJPW has about as many wrestlers as a local indy fed does and Z1 is pretty much some good juniors, Hash, Otani, and Tanaka.
Guest PlatypusFool Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Both companies bolster their rosters with meaningless gaijins, if they cut out those and then joined the native rosters, only bringing in important outsiders, they'd have about the right amount of wrestlers needed.
