Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted February 25, 2003 Regarding the team I love to hate. If you have something positive to say about the Lakers, say it. Like how Phil coaches? Love Kobe? Think Rick Fox is a bitch? This is the thread to vent.

Guest Still Fly Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I love da Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy Dan, lets agree to disagree if Rick Fox is a bitch then Dough Chrisitie is a bitch. Agree? Yes Kobe is better than McGrady, for two reasons defense and his uncanny ability to perform in the clutch.

Yes Kobe is better than McGrady, for two reasons defense and his uncanny ability to perform in the clutch. Whoa, Whoa, and fucking whoa!!! Why is Doug Christie a bitch? Rick Fox is the bitch for instigating the shit. He fucking pie faced Christie and expected no retaliation for it. Then he got socked in the jaw and tried to pearl harbor Christie in the tunnel. That sounds like pure, 100% bitch on Fox's part if I ever saw it. The Lakers are still very formidable and could easily win a fourth title with no homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, but let's face facts. The Lakers can't fight for shit. Their pretty boy pussies (albeit ones with championship rings) who couldn't hit a target if it was right in front of them with the target's back turned. See Shaq attempting to hit Brad Miller and Kobe attempting to hit Reggie Miller. Both had clean shots FROM BEHIND AND MISSED!!! That screams bitch IMO. Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted February 26, 2003 I will agree that Kobe is better than T-Mac. He does play better defense. And I call Rick Fox a bitch, because for some reason he just annoys me to death. I can't explain, but he does. Christie is no where near my favorite King. My favorite Kings are Bobby Jackson, Peja, Bibby, and Webber. Christie was more of a pussy during the Confrence Finals, then bithcy. But that ismy opinion. And it was probably better that Shaq didn't connect with his right on Brad Miller, otherwise they still would be scraping his brain and face from the floor. Guest razazteca Report post Posted February 26, 2003 Can the Spurs defense beat the cripple Lakers in the 1st round if that happens? Its pay back time, as the Spurs have an enforcer in Kevin Willis who will go Tonya Harding on Shaq's quad.
Guest Still Fly Report post Posted February 27, 2003 I call Doug Chrisite a bitch cause hes my least favorite King. Christie just wants me to slug every time he makes a three and does that stupid hand gesture. Dangerous A, There would have been no fight if Christie hadnt thrown the ball in Fox's face. Then when Rick goes to his face, he cheap shots him with an upper cut. I admit Fox was wrong by chasing his down in the tunnel. If your gonna going to deal with mind games you walk away. Christie didnt he cheap shotted Fox. A cheap shot sure makes you a man, doesnt it. The two were both in the wrong not one. Okay? The Lakers pussies? They are same team from last year. The only new people on the lakers dont even play. So your Lakers=pussies attitude is so stupid it made me laugh. Three rings make you a pussy, yeah nice one there. They can't fight? Look at this year and last year. last year they fought from 3-2 with the Kings. In 2000 they beat the Blazers while they were down 14 going in the 4th. They dominated in 2001. This year they were the as low as the 11th seed. Now they have won 12 of 14 and on to the 7th seed quickly gaining on the 6th. They can fight alright. Shaq shouldnt have punched Miller, but if you endured the pushinment that Shaq gets night in and out then I doubt you would calm if someone fouled you especially hard. In case your memory is a little hazy from all your Laker hating, you might realize that Reggie Miller has a colorful past starting fights. IMO Reggie had it coming to him. Wow, you look at how a player fights and that measures their toughness then I am very sorry for you. I measure a players toughness at how they handle the pressue of championship moments, their competitive drive, their willingness to win and the rings on their finger all of which Kobe and Shaq have. I guess you would like a player with exactly the opposite like a Reggie Miller and players of his ilk.

Ah, he's just jealous of the fact he couldn't do shit w/ the Lakers. See Shaq attempting to hit Brad Miller... He totally pulled that punch. Everybody knows it. Otherwise Miller wouldn't be feeding himself right now. In case your memory is a little hazy from all your Laker hating, you might realize that Reggie Miller has a colorful past starting fights. IMO Reggie had it coming to him. Yep. Reggie's a tough guy and acts real big but he's never made a clutch championship shot. That's why he starts shit. I guess you would like a player with exactly the opposite like a Reggie Miller and players of his ilk. My questioning the Lakers toughness and calling them pussies is about them fighting. Has nothing to do with them playing ball. In regards to playing ball, they are THE toughest team, mentally. Only Shaq really gets physically and the rest of them flop as much as Divac does on defense. I know my talking about the Lakers being fighters has nothing to do with their B-ball skills, but that's what I was referring to. I know on the hardwood the Lakers are the toughest team on the planet. But off the court they are pretty boy pansies and I'll leave it at that. Do I have a Laker hate bias? You bet. I am a Kings fan and felt they were the better team last year. I don't blame the refs for last year's flop in game 7 more than I do missed free throws. About Kobe/Reggie. I know Reggie had it coming to him. He started it. He always does. But Kobe had a clean shot FROM BEHIND AND MISSED! I have to call that. Kobe is the best player in the league right now, but he can't throw a punch. I respect game, I just don't respect his ability to defend himself or go on the offensive in a fight is all. I know where I am coming from and the Lakers are still the cream of the crop in the NBA, but that isn't going to stop me from calling them bitches in terms of fighting. That's my stance. Don't feel fucking sorry for me.

Guest Still Fly Report post Posted February 28, 2003 The Lakers are as much pretty boy pussies to you as the Kings are pussies to me. I don't remember Webber or Bibby winning any fights lately or ever. I think the Kings are bigger pussies against the Lakers. I dont think the Kings have ever gotten at least a 3-1 regular season advantage against the Lakers in their history! Call me biased (and i am) but thats the way i see it Id rather have Kobe miss the punch and not get suspended for 7 games. Hey but im sure that Webber can fight with the best of them. If the Kings were better than the Lakers last year, then they would have won the series. Period. No ifs ands or buts about. They would have won. i tired of all these whiny Kings fans that say the Kings were better! "we should be the champs". Boo fucking hoo. The Kings maybe would have beat the Lakers if all the Kings showed up for game 7 not just Bibby. Maybe if your star player had any type of backbone then maybe the Kings would have been the champs. If your done then Im done
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted February 28, 2003 I'm done. Let's agree to disagree and wait til the playoffs to begin this discussion again.
Guest GameCop Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Kobe is a reincarnation of Michael Jordan; in other words, he's the BEST player in the NBA. Shaquille O'Neal M.D. (Most Dominant) is starting to come into his own again as evidenced by his 35 points and 14 rebounds in the Lakers win over Detroit. Rick Fox, bitch or not, is a dependable shooter from the perimeter. Derek Fisher is the grittiest point guard in the NBA; he dives and tumbles for the ball like no one I've ever seen. Robert Horry has uncanny ability to perform down the stretch in the playoffs. Mark Madsen aka MAD DOGG is a modern day Kurt Rambis; he will work his ass off for the coach and players. As much as you people might detest the thought, the Lakers will win their 4th championship in a row (much to my delight). Sorry Sacramento Kings. Sorry San Antonio Spurs. At this year's NBA Finals, The Lakers will defeat the Detroit Pistons in five games.

Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Well with the Lakers charging back, it is still really up in the air. The thing is though, Every team knows how to approach the Lakers AT THEIR BEST. They have seen the same team for three years in a row now, however other teams like the Kings/Mavs(can't beat good teams, I know)/Spurs keep getting better. Right now I wouldn't be suprised for any of those four teams to come out on top.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I would find it funny if the T-Wolves meet the Lakers in the 1st round and beat them in 6 games. I still don't see the Lakers going past the 1st round if Shaq's big toe is still tender.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Will the mod use the MERGE powers and get all of these Lakers fanboy topics together? Spurs will win they have a better bench, that is all. Yes. I hope the Lakers crash and burn so we don't have to have any more of these threads started. It's bad enough there are 45903 Kurt Angle threads in the WWE folder, this folder doesn't get enough traffic to support twenty different threads on the same team. Just my two cents. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted March 5, 2003 We can all say they won't win it. We can hope and pray. But the fact is I've said that for three years. In a few months they'll be champions again and I'll be pissed off again. I don't think they'll win it but they probably will.
moral suasion 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Assuming the T-Wolves do not win it, I would almost rather have the Lakers win rather than the Spurs, Kings, Mavs, Trailbalzers, or any one-player team from the East. I don't like the Lakers one bit, but they are better champions than most good teams. Although this has been an interesting season, the state of the NBA is pretty crappy. And a dynasty would be pretty cool to see and good for the league. Plus, Kobe and Shaq are classy guys compared to most of the moron superstars out there. Teams I would rather have the Lakers win than: WEST Kings: Vlade Divac is annoying and a nuisance. He is bad for the league. Webber is in court inbetween games. Thier coach is by far the biggest cry-baby in the league. I do like Mike Bibby and former gopher Bobby Jackson however. Mavs: They're OK, but who wants to see the #1 team win it? Plus Nick Van Exel, Najera guy, and Michael Finley are stupid. I would like to see Dirk and Nash get more established before winning a championship. Spurs: Boring. Who cares. Trailbalzers: Legal problems. Drugs. Those qualitites make a good champ. Suns: I personally just don't like Stephon Maurbury. He admitted in the Star Tribune that he left Minnesota because he could not stand being the #2 guy. EAST (if they had a chance) 76ers: Allen Iverson is the worst role model in all sports. He uses such bad grammer that his sentences are confusing. The gun/wife thing. The "Practice!" thing. The ego. Horrible. Worst role model in sports. Magic: TMac is overrated. He comes off mare concerned about himself, the stats, and the cameras than his team. I would just rather see the Lakers win out until a good story team can win it. Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Plus, Kobe and Shaq are classy guys compared to most of the moron superstars out there. WHAT? David Robinson and Tim Duncan are 2 of the nicest gentlemen in the league..........oh I'm sorry if they are not THUG enough for you or noone of your favorite rappers are wearing their jerseys. Damn the Spurs and the Pistons are the Vanilla Midgets of the NBA. They produce but nobody wants to give them their due. And your assumption of the league you forgot to critique the CENTRAL division which the Pistons and Pacers are the leading contenders for the finals. But they got squashed by the Spurs and Lakers so who cares right? Ben Wallace is the defensive freak and Jermaine O'Neal and Al Harrington are finally productive. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Thank You APO. Anyone think Tim Duncan isn't giving enough consideration for MVP. Garnett, McGrady, and Bryant are worthy canidates. But Duncan's playing with basically role players. Parker is a future star, but he's not their yet.

Guest Lethargic Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Assuming the T-Wolves do not win it, I would almost rather have the Lakers win rather than the Spurs, Kings, Mavs, Trailbalzers, or any one-player team from the East. And a dynasty would be pretty cool to see and good for the league. Plus, Kobe and Shaq are classy guys compared to most of the moron superstars out there. What "one player team" from the east? I think of Philly and Orlando when you say that but neither one of those will get pass the first round most likely. The top contenders from the East are the Nets, Pacers and Pistons and those teams have nothing at all like a "one-player team" mentality. They're all the complete opposite. All three play a complete rounded good team game. Unlike your precious Lakers which come playoff time will all be Shaq charging into people and dunking or your T-Wolves which is COMPLETELY a one man team. Why do people claim that dynasties are good for sports? What is good about it? The Bulls dynasty was the most boring era of basketball I can think of. There was no point in watching the finals any year. Everybody knew the Bulls were going to win. How in the world is it fun to watch that? Has anybody noticed that the most popular sport is the NFL where there hasn't been a dynasty in 10 years? The league is setup to keep teams from running off 3 or 4 titles in a row now and it has made the NFL awesome to watch. The friggin Patriots won the Superbowl. That would never happen in the NBA. We're not gonna see a team like the Warriors sneak into the playoffs then shock the world by winning the whole thing. People wanna talk about a lot of bullshit reasons not to like the NBA, but that's really the only thing I don't like about it. I don't like the fact that when training camp opens, the Lakers are already considered the champions. I don't like going through this long season hoping to see something special in the playoffs and never getting it except for a few good moments in the first round. I don't wanna see another Laker sweep in the finals against some over-matched East team.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Ratings for the NFL where higher when Dallas and San Fran. dominated the league in the early to mid-nineties. It's so hard to compare the NFL with any other sport. Upsets and suprise champions are bound to happen alot more in the NFL. More likely than not when playing a best of 7 series, the better team will win. Really it's just a matter of what you prefer the possibility of cinderalla team, or one of the best teams.
