Shaq didn't show up tonight. This game also shows how much better the Bulls should be.

Don't the Lakers have somebody by the name of Kobe that can pick up the slack. Poor excuse considering they are the defending champs.

There's no excuse for games like that. Shaq does that way to often in the regular season. As for Kobe...he's stuck shouldering the entire load when Shaq isn't out or not interested. The rest of the team is useless if Shaq doesn't come to play.

The lost against the Pistons are another reason the Lakers should be concerned... they now have lost two in a row in the road... against the Eastren Confrence. The Lakers are not the best road team this year.

It will be interesting how the Lakers finish the season. Especially since they play a good amount of games on the road. Something like the nine out of their next thirteen (correct this if I am off the mark). It will also be interesting if the Lakers do in fact run out of juice, which means no repeat for the Lakers.

I'm willing to bet the Lakers lost on purpose. That's right, by moving up to the 6th spot they'll have to play the San Antonio Spurs in the first round, which won't be good for the Lakers. Phil Jackson and the rest of the crew rather play either Sacramento or Dallas.

San Antonio is currently the BEST team in the league. They've beaten the Lakers in each of their regular season games. Sacramento and Dallas, on the other hand, are still mentally "afflicted" by the Lakers. The Lakers made that miraculous 28-point comeback against Dallas, and they defeated Sacramento in the west-finals last year.

It just shows that the Lakers are just a 2 person team and the 3rd person of the Phil Jackson Zen Triangle Offense always forgets to show up. The Lakers have no bench.

I see like this. If Im the Spurs I dont wanna see the Lakers until at least the WCF. People seem to forget that the Lakers pretty much bent over the Spurs the last 2 years. Nobody on the Spurs can stop Kobe and Shaq is Shaq. The Spurs have always given the Lakers trouble in the regular season. In the first title run the Spurs won the season series 3-1.

The Laker bench is the same Laker bench from all 3 championship years. I dont get how bad they are if the same people on the bench for all 3 years.

Once the playoffs start its a different season and I can assure all of you once the playoffs start Shaq and Kobe arent going to lose in the first round.

The only thing team that is realistically going to have a chance at dethroning the Lakers is the Kings. The matchups dictate it. Dallas has no balls or inside prescence and the Spurs just don't match up great against the Lakers in a seven game series. The Kings have problems too because Divac can't matchup with Shaq(no one in the league can) and Kobe 0wns Christie. However, the Kings have a better matchup at power forward and point guard. Small forward is a toss up to me, depending on if Stojakavic can get hot or if Fox gets the better of him. In 2001, Fox owned Stojakovic and last year Peja didn't come back until game 5 from a severely sprained ankle and we didn't see him at full strength. I call that matchup pretty much even and could go any way. These matchup issues are why they went 7 games last year and why, if they meet again, it'll probrably go another 7 game stretch. It is, without a doubt, the hottest ticket in the NBA.

Yes I know the Spurs always lose to the Lakers in the Playoffs in the past but this year is different. The Lakers have a big toe issue and the Spurs have new talent that can come off the bench to solve whatever problems they had in the past with the Lakers. Now Parker has something to prove to make all of the Jason Kidd threats quite, the bench of Ginobli, Stephen Jackson, Rose and Willis can be smack around the Lakers bench in offensive and defensive stats.

Lakers win!!! Lakers win!!! OH HELL YEAH. They beat the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight, 106 to 99. Shaq had 26 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks. Kobe had 30 points and 6 rebounds.

Minnesota is exceedingly difficult to beat at home; however, the Lakers did it!!!!!!

TAKE THAT Laker haters.

Shaqs big toe has healed for your information. This years Spurs role players are not better than the 99 ones. the 99 team had a heart and determination. Also 99 was the lockout year and thats why the Spurs peaked the way they did. Its was kind of like the middle of the season for them. Duncan has yet to prove to me he has a backbone and wont dissapear when he plays the Lakers.

This years Spurs team reminds me a lot of the one in 2001. They blow everyone away in the regular season but when its playoff time they fold.

The Lakers bench is also much more seasoned and playoff ready than the Spurs bench. Experience is a HUGE key in the playoffs and guys like Parker and Ginobli are not playoff harded either. Even Duncan lost some confidence in the playoffs the last two years!

Kevin Willis will be this years Mario Ellie and Malik Rose will once again be a difference maker in the playoffs. Tim Duncan is the main man for the Spurs, just because he has a quiet demenor does not mean that is not a contender for the MVP, which he is. Tim does not have to carry the team by himself in every game he just does what is needed for the win. Some times he goes for 20 rebounds and 20 points while other times he just play the decoy for Tony Parker or whoever is hot to win the game. Tim Duncan is also the #1 option as the go to guy in the clutch be it making the final shot or as a decoy.

THE LAKERS WIN AGAIN!!! YESSS!!!!

They rallied from an 18 point deficit and emerged with a victory, 98 to 94.

Shaq had 24 points, 12 boards, and 4 blocks. Kobe had 20 points and 9 boards, including a miraculous shot over Gary Payton in crunch time.

THE THREE TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS ARE BACK, BAYBEE!!

Yeah, how are they going to make the playoffs and win the Championship if they keep winning?

You could tell Kobe was trying to miss his shot -- in the closing minutes-- on purpose, but for some reason the damn thing went in. Kobe was really pissed. His teammates were really angry, too -- especially Mark Madsen, who tried to use his chest as a weapon. Kobe was OK, even though he wasn't wearing a chest protector like D-LO would in these circumstances.

Kobe Bryant had a 103 temperature against Minnesota and scored 30 points. It all looked so easy.

I hope to God you never become a basetball analyst on TV.

If Kenyon Martin scores 20 points today I'm disowning him

The Kings won tonight against the Lakers. Both teams were healthy. The Kings depth really was evident. Also, Phil admitted that the Kings think that they can beat the Lakers. So any chance of the Kings being scared against the Lakers in a playoff series, will be very low.

I think this might be the year where Shaq and Kobe might not be enough. Of course, things can change. But every Championship run, regardless of length, eventually comes to an end.

I laughed my ass off at Mark Madsen attempting to play basketball. GREAT hustle and energy but my God, he is HORRIBLE.

Rick Fox and Robert Horry continue to be 2 of the more useless guys in the league. Fisher is the only guy givin them anything other than Shaq and Kobe and as seen tonight, the Kings won't have much trouble beating them if it comes down to that every game.

yeah, i'm starting to get dissapointed in Fox and Horry, more so with Fox, because come playoff time Horry = God. Madsen has been playing excellent ball in his first year at actually getting playing time, but he needs to take more shots, he had a few wide open shots but instead passed the ball

 At this rate, if the Celtics take care of business tonight like I know they can, and the Rockets and Suns win some games, the Kings won't even have the Lakers to worry about.

The Lakers are 7th in the playoff hunt and there is nothing more that I would like than to see the Lakers miss the playoffs!

It was funny in the 3rd quarter when Madson had the ball and did not know what to do with it.

After the Lakers/Kings game somebody from the Kings (maybe somebody that works for the team but probably a crazy fan) stole Shaq's 20,000th point game ball and scribbled something "offensive" on it.
