They just traded some scrub I can't think of off the top of my head and a fourth round pick to St Louis for Trung Canidate. The scrub is OL David Loverne. The Bengals are either drafting Palmer, or are trading the rights to the pick. They know the value of Palmer, so if they consider going after a wideout or cornerback, they'll trade down to the double digits and let whomever draft Carson. EDIT: See San Diego two years ago for an example. Vick was far and away the best prospect in the draft, but they weren't really high on him, so they traded down and reaped the awards in return (Tim Dwight, a few draft picks, and they drafted Tomlinson with the pick they got in return) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It's an upgrade to their CB position, but I hope they grab someone in the 2nd to 4th round of the draft because I have my doubts about Bly. It seems like it could be a decent move though. You need to use Bear logic. Is that like WWF logic? It sure is. All the Bears have to do is sign a young up and comer like Jake Plummer or Kordell Stewart, and their spectacular pass defense and running game will lead them to the Super Bowl. They've been the most active team so far, but I don't think these two signings are as important as the two Guards they signed earlier. I've seen enough 1st round QB busts in my time. Get the shut down corner we've needed. There will be quality QBs in the 2nd round that can be developed. Stick with Kitna for the next two years and then the young guy will be ready to take over. The Lions overpaid for Bly (as has been pointed out here already) Matt Millen sucks as GM. Mornhinweg was released on Jan. 27 after compiling a 5-27 record in two seasons with Detroit. "We are pleased to add Marty to our already fine coaching staff," said Eagles coach Andy Reid, who worked with Mornhinweg both in college and on the staff of the Green Bay Packers. "He's a good football coach and his experience will help this team." Mornhinweg, 40, served as the offensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers for three seasons before going to Detroit. He and Reid coached together as offensive assistant coaches under Mike Holmgren in Green Bay from 1995-96. Reid took over as the Packers quarterbacks coach after Mornhinweg left for San Francisco. The two also coached together at Texas-El Paso in 1987 and at Missouri in 1991. Mornhinweg and Brad Childress, the Eagles' offensive coordinator, coached together at Northern Arizona in 1988. Mornhinweg took over the Lions after they went 9-7 and just missed the playoffs in 2000. But they were 2-14 in 2001, and 3-13 last season. And look-- Falcons deal Simoneau to Eagles for draft picks The Falcons traded linebacker Mark Simoneau to the Eagles Monday night for a sixth-round choice in the 2003 draft and fourth-round choice in the 2004 draft. The move followed the departure of Eagles outside linebacker Shawn Barber, who signed with the Chiefs. Middle linebackers Levon Kirkland and Barry Gardner remained unsigned. Simoneau asked to be traded Monday figuring that he didn't have a starting role in the Falcons' 3-4 defense. The timing couldn't be any more perfect for him because the Eagles inquired about his availability and got a deal quickly done. Simoneau signed a revised contract with the Eagles that will pay him $6.57 million over the next five years. He received a $1.5 million signing bonus. March 3, 2003 Who needes S. Barber or T.
