I don't know about being worse. Just keeping the same coach for once can help them.

They did solidfy their o-line a bit, so that's an improvement.

I guess we'll just have to see how their D performs without Marvin Lewis.

The Redskins signed a Safety. I don't even remember who it was. EDIT: Packers S Matt Bowen. Yeah...anyone even know who that is...? The Redskins are also looking at Chad Morton (KR - Jets) but that position is pretty well covered already.

As far as them signing Rob Johnson, it pretty much goes like this -

Any QB with an arm thats not falling off > Danny Wuerffel and Shane Matthews.

In a backup role to Ramsey, I wouldn't have a problem with R. Johnson. This obviously means that one of the two (Wuerffel or Matthews) will have to go...hopefully its Wuerffel. Shane Matthews is decent enough to keep as a 3rd string QB. Wuerffel should just retire. I don't think theres a team in the league that would take a chance on him even being a 3rd string QB.

The Ravens signed Corey Fuller and are meeting with David Boston today. Signing Boston would be huge, but Im willing to bet that they won't pull it off.

Panthers sign Jake Delhomme

Seems like a decent enough deal. It's only for two years, for around 2 million dollars a year. I doubt he will make much of an impact though. It also looks like they are bringing Rodney Peete back. *marks out*

Oh give me a break...

Other than Jamir Miller and Earl Holmes everyone Cleveland got rid of were overpriced underacheivers. They cut Jamir Miller because he was due to make something like 14 million this year and also there's no way to know how healthy he'll be after shredding his achilles. Holmes was the only person they cut that contributed much last year and was the only surprise cut.

The high priced vets we cut didn't do anything our young guys can't do so how are we dismantling the team. In these salary cap times cutting high priced vets in favor of young guys is normal business.

Pittsburg lets 3 or 4 starters go in fa every year. Do you go around talking about them dismantling the team?

1 LB(Jamir Miller) would've been paid 14 million this year and was coming off an ruptured achilles.

1 LB(Dwayne Rudd) didn't do anything a cheaper younger guy can't do.

1 LB(Earl Holmes) was solid but unspectacular in the 2nd half of the season. Also he has bad knees and had some injury problems last year.

Out of those three ONLY Jamir Miller has been a star for us and if he comes back 100% he'd be the only LB we'll truly miss. However no team is going to play a linebacker 14 million for one season.

The center(Dave Wholabough) was making good money and he doesn't fit the mold of physical offensive linemen the head coach wants. Also there's a young guy who was groomed last year and is ready to take the spot.

The CB(Corey Fuller) would've been nice to keep around for the young secondary, but sooner or later they had to take the training wheels off the young secondary.

So 5 well paid starters were released and only 2 of them would've been a fulltime starter as Holmes would've likely split time. So once again where's the dismantling.

I wasn't just referring to the Steelers this year. Ever since the salary cap starter the Steelers have "lost" more players to FA than any other team.

So when the Steelers do it, it's called purging the roster of high paid dead weight. When another team does it, it's called dismantling. Alrighty then...

Well...I am a huge Peerless Price fan and after watching all the games last season I think he's going to have a very good career in Atlanta.

However, I knew the chances of getting him back were at about 0 anyway. I'm just impressed that we were able to get something back for him...especially when you think that Arizona let a better WR in David Boston and their QB go without getting shit.

And...The Bengals have just announced that they will officially not match the Bills contract on Takeo Spikes. Spikes and a #1 pick. not a bad week so far.

Well the Bengals have been busy so far.

Lost:

Takeo Spikes (LB) (Defensive leader)

Lorenzo Neal (FB) (Only Pro Bowler from last year)

Nick Luchey (FB)

Signed:

Carl Powell (DE)

Kevin Hardy (LB)

John Thornton (DT)

Tory James (CB)

Reggie Kelly (TE) (probably)

I don't like losing Spikes at all, he was our best player, and leader. But, if he didn't want to stay then I guess it was better that we let him go instead of having a disgruntled player. Hardy will be an adequate replacement (not Spikes level though). James could really help our weak secondary if he stays healthy. Thornton and Powell will hopefully shore up our porous D-line, and Reggie Kelly can provide much needed blocking from the TE position. Neal and Luchey are big losses, but I don't think it will be too hard to pick up a blocking FB.

I like the moves that the Bengals have made. But I still say it doesn't matter until they get a QB to work out for them.

Add a QB to their lineup today and even the Bungles have to win 8

Well Blake won't be guaranteed a starting job in Arizona either. I guess the coaches like the young QB that backed up Plummer last year. Chances are Blake will serve as veteren backup QB that helps the young QB out.

Carolina has had a great Offseason. They needed help on offense and have signed the top FA rb and signed a good #1 Wr when he's healthy.

Whenever Carolina gets a real QB it could be the toughest division from first palce to last place in the NFL.

The Steelers signed TE Jay Riemersma.

He can still catch some...but don't expect him to block.
