Guest raptor Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 I'm very partial to the Wolverine vs. Yoshada (sp?) battle at the end of the original Wolverine mini-series. I think it really showed what Wolverine can do without the berzerker hanging over him.

I agree with the Spider-Man v. Venom from Amazing #300. How about the Heroes last assault on Doom from Secret Wars?

I just love those big ass fights. - Batman vs Superman in The Dark Knight Returns. Probably one of the best examples of Batman cheating to win. - Approximately half the Marvel heroes vs Thanos in Infinity Gauntlet. The highlight was Cap schooling Thanos before the Eternal said 'fuck it' and used the gauntlet on him. - Superman vs Doomsday in Superman #75. Epic enough that you forget that the book is made up of 23 splash pages. - Crisis. Again, a big ass battle, this time across the DC multiverse. Fun fun fun. The X-Men vs Cameron Hodge (X-Tinction Agenda) Good story, but a HUGE discrepancy in art quality. Liefeld was fairly cohesive here, with the usual flaws, but Jan Bogdanove's art on X-Factor was really bad. And Jim Lee was Jim Lee in his prime,.

All the build-up and drama led to this final showdown between mentor and student. One had to die. That's my favorite fight right off the top of my head. I'm sure I'll have some more later.

That one was intense, I remember reading it and just being completely on edge because I loved Preacher so much back then and it was the last thing I expected. And, yeah, Batman vs. Superman from Dark Knight Returns.

Odinfrom Warlock and the Infinity Watch #25-a fantastic battle that almost singlehandedly made up for that awful Blood and Thunder storyline. 2.Thor vs. Mangog/Thanos from Thor 21-25-Thor really took a pounding here, but still managed to win. 3. Wolverine vs. Mauvis vs. the Wendigo from Wolverine 172(?)-an awesome three way slugfest. 4. Wolverine vs. Lady Deathstrike/Omega Red from Wolverine 174-A rare treat showing Wolverine as an underdog and using his brain instead of his claws. 5.Batman vs. Bane from Batman 500 and Batman 700-both were intense, brutal affairs that had Batman taken to the limit. 6.Avengers vs. the Shiar Imperial Guard Vs. the Kree Star Force-from the Operation Galatic Storm crossover.-not a single fight scene but a series of them throughout the crossover. Back before the X-books turned the Imperial Guard into a complete joke, it was a real treat to see three of the most powerful superteams in existence go at tooth and nail in a high stakes stroyline. The crossover itself is easily the best one that Marvel has ever put together and I would highly recommend the back issues that contributed to it.
