Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Brock was bad on the tribute to Curt Henning, poor Brock forgot his lines. JR is just terrible at being the main announcer with "what a move" and "high impact" explaining everything from a kick to a suplex now a days. I don't really like the new Goldust as the studdering idiot savant.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Everything JR says sounds like he is trying to sell us something. He is the used-car salesman of the WWE. All he brings is his sound, that's it. I have no idea why the WWE won't bring in capable, knowledgable announcers that would compliment the product.

I don't really like the new Goldust as the studdering idiot savant. Brock sucks beyond belief, but he plays a monster well otherwise. JR has 3 voice intonations: Owen-Hart-just-fell-to-his-death, shilling, and "STONE COLD!! STONE COLD!! STONE COLD!!" style bursts of excitement. Goldust's new gimmick sucks but he is able to pull most things off pretty well.

Okay, I wouldn't want Mark Madden back, but we don't need these boyband looking motherfuckers who don't know how to call a move like Coach and Cole running around. Even the marks hate them. Guest Brian Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Benoit's darkness promos are cool because it has that feel that he's pouring out all these emotions.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Cole has been getting better though. Smackdowns announcers are tolerable - they look at wrestling as fans, rather than dirty shills (though they do shill). I wish Tazz would focus more on the technical aspects of wrestling. Josh is a wrestling fan - I'd go as far as to call him a smark ( ) but he is too whitebread... Coach, Cat, Lita, JR, and King are just unacceptible.
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 4, 2003 That's because that style of interview fits Benoit's characer: a cold, calculating machine enveloped by the cleansing, all-revealing black. Brock doing it seems false and impersonal. And I'd like to change my overall vote from Steph to Stacy. Ms. Test is that much worse in all areas, and doesn't have the benefit of being related to the boss.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Dude, Stacy was the manager for Los Fabulosos... respect that shit, aight?
Guest DerangedHermit Report post Posted March 4, 2003 - Stacy Keibler (Listen to her "screaming" in the Walls of Jericho) - Test (at least if you're gonna cheat on someone, make us believe that you actually did!) - Stephanie as SD! GM (surely, I wasn't the only one that remembered Max Headroom during one of her shills) - Linda McMahon (hey, at least she played dead) - Jonathan Coachman (he can only act like an uncharismatic white boy) - Lita (like, you know, yeah, she, like, sucks, like, uh, really, like, you know, bad!) - everyone in the Dawn/Torrie feud (you know it's sad when the best actor was Al Wilson and his gigantic WANG~!) Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Brock is bar none the worst guy on the mic I've EVER seen. Even Matt and Jeff's old backyard videos as kids had them cutting far superior promos.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 4, 2003 Test is and has been for a long time. Brock is probably the worst mic worker in the company, but as an actor he's not as bad as test.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I can't choose between Test & Lita.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Girls: Torrie and Lita are the worst. Especially Torrie. Guys: Normal acting wise, I'd say Test is pretty bad. But when talking and acting at the same time (i.e backstage promos, interviews) is,for me, bar none, Brock.
Guest Bricks Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Overall, it's Test. Everything he's done has been bad. But, the worst acting job I saw was RVD "acting" mad when he saw Goldust on the TitanTron. I felt bad for him because he kept making these angry faces, but he just ended up looking silly.

Josh Matthews is pretty good at doing what he's doing, and I'd bang him much sooner than Cole or Coach (eeew.) It's just A Vince Thing to give the mic to anybody (see also: Dumas, Amy.) Guest Kid Kablam Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Personally I think Benoit is a good actor. True, his promos aren't the best, but his in ring acting is excellent. I really feel myself believing his silent killer persona when I watch him and I really enjoy it. He also does little things with his face when Angle was cutting promos with him that I really enjoyed. Just because he doesn't act like the Rock doesn't mean he isn't a good actor.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Michael Cole! - not a single word he has spoken has ever sounded convincing Have you ever heard him pretending to laugh his ass off at some Edge wisecrack? Or trying to sound real mad at some heel's antics? There is NOBODY worse, folks. One thing he can do, he did sell the beating from Austin in 2001 well. that1870sguy 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I agree about Stacy Keibler. She lost me after she delivered a holiday greeting that was obviously off of a cue card. And those Shawn and Stacy segments back in WCW were hell to sit through for many reasons, aside from bad acting. I also have to say the Big Show. Once Jericho told the ref Show hit him with a chair, causing a DQ. Show went into a big, fat rage where he kept yelling "IT WASN'T ME!" He sounded like a big fat incompetent fool. Who am I kidding. He is a big fat incompetent fool.

Yes, and he's channeling a bit of JR as well, what with his "Damning to hell" he always loves to shout. That Michael Cole beating is one of my fondest wrestling memories. Damn, did I ever enjoy that. Guest notJames Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Cole tried to be a heel announcer on Velocity when he worked with the guy that does the PPV Free-For-Alls, Mark something, I think. He didn't sound like a heel; he just sounded like a dick, making fun of the guy, not even paying attention to the matches. He's horrible, although he's not as bad anymore on SD! Guest The_Radical Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Test is pretty bad but even he's nowhere near as bad as Brock is. Brock sounds like a stupid hick in all of his promos and the only thing that he can muster up in terms of portraying a "character" is that stupid idiot grin of his. I agree about Benoit not being so great in the promo department, but in the ring he plays his character to perfection. I have to give a few honourable mentions here to Ultimate Warrior (what the hell were those promos about anyways?), Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie and Al Wilson (just because of that horrible angle) and HHH from the Katie Vick angle. Guest The_Radical Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Yep, I would say that he sounds most like Sid. He's even got that stupid Sid "country-bumpkin" like twang.
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I liked Brock when he was all psychotic and messing with the Rock and Taker. Now it just sucks. But watching him smile as he wiped the blood.
Guest Crux Report post Posted March 5, 2003 Jeff Hardy strikes me as pretty damn bad...his promos are cringe-worthy. And Test...even when he's not talking he annoys me, so I dont think I can give an impartial judgment there.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted March 5, 2003 My favorite Brock Lesnar "acting" moment: At the RAW X special, when Brock came out to present an award. Brock was wearing a suit, yet still felt he needed to do the hop-around dance. I mean, is your character THAT simple? Big Show is pretty bad, too, especially when he tries to act all menacing. He just looks goofy. Like when he would start slobbering in the ring.
Guest ViciousFish Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I actually still joke with my friends about Brock in a suit doin' his little dance which spawned teh awful saying "Do the Brock" to which you then hum the Mario Brother's song
Guest The Hamburglar Report post Posted March 5, 2003 I liked Brock when he was all psychotic and messing with the Rock and Taker. Now it just sucks. But watching him smile as he wiped the blood. Brock was great in this period because he was just so damn depraved in an incredibly pedophilic manner. I swear he sexually assaulted Hogan at one point, and tried to interfere with Taker's unborn child. Its the grin I tells ya, its greatness. And did I see someone diss the Happy Dance? What maniac could say bad things about the Happy Dance, and the Happy Dance in a Suit even more so? That's the sign of an unwell mind. RVD is a bit crap these days, but his stuff with Austin was really funny. Like when Austin was interrogating him with the light shining in his face. Rob's reactions were just so innocently provocative. Big Show is actually really crisp and fluid on the mic, its just the BigManKill stuff he's given to say is so crap its funny. Comedy Big Show ruled all. Lita and Jeff Hardy are the worst, though. And Matt was really bad before his heel turn. Wait, has anyone mentioned Billy Kidman yet? How can he not be top of the bad acting pile?
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 6, 2003 Kidman is near the top, but he doesn't get nearly as many chances as the other horrible actors so it doesn't seem as bad. Meanwhile, Test & Jeff Hardy get to show their non-expertise every week.
