I was going to order Mania (the first WWE ppv I would buy since SummerSlam) on the strength of 2 matches. Brock/Angle and Austin/Rock. I have zero interest in Vince/Hogan or HBK vs. Jericho or HHH/Booker (except for the possible ending of the match). And if Angle/Brock drops to Brock/Cena I won't be ordering. I would order for Brock/Benoit...and last I checked he was going to be in a three way tag title match with Rhyno as his partner because Edge is injured. It wouldn't be hard to pull him out of that and continue the "My dream is to be WWE champion" storyline that got him a STANDING OVATION only a few weeks back. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted March 4, 2003 I suggest a 4-Man Tournament at Wrestlemania XIX (Guerrero, Benoit, Rhyno and Brock) for the title. Have Benoit go over Rhyno, and Brock go over Eddie (where everyone besides Brock might wrestle twice in that night, in the tag title match against TA, who should retain). Brock goes over Benoit, and we have your new champion. The WWE Title tournament will hold its own with the other "big matches" that night (Vince/Hogan, Austin/Rock, etc.), as it'll be part of the "2nd Half Main Event". The only way I'd agree with that, is by this situation... ...TONIGHT on Smackdown, they have the tourny to see who faces Lesner at Wrestlemania. They then have Angle come up in the first segment of SD next week, to hand over the title to Steph in the middle of the ring while the fans finally cheer the guy louder than ever. It would give the fans a match they want and he would be a credible opponent for Lesnar. Why do people keep saying this? The tourny should be for who gets to face Lesner, and they should do it in either one or two shows, so they can have some specific buildup for the SD title match. It will add so much more credibility to the title as it will look like the title is so meaningful to Angle that the only he could give it up was through an injury. If he does the fairwell speech and hands over the title, to me, it will reek of the "Loses His Smile" promo by HBK. Angle has said he wants to go to the 2004 Olympics. Could this be a ploy to get time off to work on his mat-wrestling? Yeah, I know Kurt is a great guy backstage, but I'm only considering the possibility. As someone stated earlier, they won't push Rhyno to ME WM 3 weeks after returning. Cena/Lesnar has already been pushed for the past few weeks. Its the way to go.
