Facial astringent. It's cheap as hell. You go to the pharmacy, buy the generic-brand facial astringent and come cotton balls. It's the most effective (and cheapest) way I know of fighting acne. You'll be amazed at how much dirt it cleans out from your face.

Outside of going to a dermatologist--and even that isn't 100% effective--you can't really get rid of acne, you can only hope to get it under control. I was a late bloomer in this department--I didn't start getting zits regularly until I was 19--and though I kept them to a minimum, my face didn't start clearing up until about three years later. So, unless you have giant knots on your face, follow the advice in this thread and ride it out. There's little else you can do.

make sure you wash you sheets in bed a lot, because they can get oily without you realizing it.

Hmmm.. I never thought about that, but now that you mention it, it does make a lot of sense.

I use this ProActiv treatment. It works okay. Not great, but okay.

In the summer, when I drank a shitload of water and was always outside, my face was pretty clear. Ride it out and drink the H20.

For me personally, it just cleared up on it's own. Don't bother spending a shitload of money on perscribed creams and crap like that. It seemed like once I stopped caring about it it went away. Go figure.
