And once you can learn to accept criticisms of your arguments, you will forever be the whinier child. My argument was being misinterpreted, so I had to explain myself further. I can accept critisism just fine. But if what I am saying is being turned around by a bunch of idiots then I feel as though I should make myself clear. You are making so sense here boy, so please stop trying and go "get it out of your head!"
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Look! Someone disagreed with Johnson!! The only people crying in this thread are the right wing holier then thou prudes that had no problem with D Lo and Teddy making fun of the white man. But as soon as a black man is the BUTT of the jokes they get on their soap box. When you, as a grown man (I think) stop being obsessed with a shitty pop singer you can tell me I am wrong. Moron. See, this is why no one likes arguing with you, Johnson. Anyone who disagrees with your opinion is a "moron". Now that shit may fly at DDT, it doesn't here. Guest BRUCE Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Just because Johnson doesn't agree with ya'll, you people have to turn on him and say he's a baby. Grow the fuck up people. He was just standing up for his argument. And by the way, he's right. The angle is really funny. I can't wait to see if they get Booker T to put on the drivers hat! Guest papacita Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I agree with those who say that they shouldn't have played "the race card" in the Booker/HHH program, because one, the WWE's writers aren't strong enough to handle such a serious storyline, and two, the majority of the audience is white, making it harder for them to identify with and get behind Booker. I personally wouldn't mind seeing the angle if it's done properly, but realistically it's stupid to run a white-on-black storyline because it does nothing but alienate the target audience. But as soon as a black man is the BUTT of the jokes they get on their soap box. I'm posting again! This can be equated to more rope. You just keep tossing it around your neck, kiddo, everytime to call the people responding holier than thou. It's fun seeing you completely discredit yourself on that front. I'm not too sure I ever posted about the D'Lo angle, though it's possible. I'm leaning towards never having done so mostly for the same reason I AM posting on this topic: it's not too entertaining. It was nice to see D'lo get some TV time and a shot, but we all knew the angle was shit and it was ultimately going to get lost. When you, as a grown man (I think) stop being obsessed with a shitty pop singer you can tell me I am wrong. While Kotz can certainly defend himself, I figured I'd pop in and say that's a laughable offense coming from a guy defending a racism angle. Moron. OH TAG~! THAT DIDN'T BURN ANYONE AT ALL! MORON! Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted March 12, 2003 The angle won't be successful. DLo/Mack/Teddy Long are perceived by some as comedy characters (at least by me), and aren't in a World Title program. Therefore, it's OK to have generic "Back the Mack" and "Down with the Brown" because it is a completely different realm then HHH/Booker who are feuding over a World Title. DLo (when he was still with the company) got good heat because the crowd liked the way that he portrayed the character of a disgruntled black guy. That's the difference between Booker and DLo. Booker has charisma and promo skills out the ass, but when it comes to effectively getting his character across, he doesn't do as well, IMO. The main event angle should generally be an attention grabber, but this is being overshadowed by the excellent Austin/Rock program so far. Not to mention, Booker just completely pissed away his credibility on Raw, what with basically admitting that he's a thug. Now I'm not a WWE writer, but I'm relatively sure that having Booker come out and basically agree with HHH calling him one of "those people" doesn't do wonders for him character-wise. HHH, instead of getting the "You can't say that about black people, you son of a bitch" heat continues to get apathy and a generalized "get off my TV heat" instead of heat that is necessary for this program to be worthwhile. It's not entertaining either. It's simply random black jokes tossed out, in a feeble attempt to garner heat for a dead heel champion. I mean, what does calling Booker "one of those people", telling him to "dance for me Book", and telling him that he has "nappy hair" and that "people like you are meant to entertain people like me, not to win World Titles" accomplish? After the way that the program has been written the last few weeks, nothing much. You also brought up Chappelle's Show and All in the Family, but DrTom shot those down as being comedies. Not only that, but they are a completely different genre. Shows like that were meant to entertain in a different light. Chappelle's Show is a comedic venture into race, politics, and parody. All in the Family is a look into a close-minded lout, who never says the right thing, but is loved for it anyways. Raw is a paranoid World Champion, desparately clinging to what he holds dear, and trying to distract the man who has the best shot at taking it away. Yes, they have some simularities, but Raw is not like these shows because it is an action-drama with comedy mixed in, while AITF and CS are comedies with mock-drama. Comedy should not be used to sell tickets to a World Title program. Drama should. Right now, the HHH/Booker storyline is neither.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 13, 2003 That would explain your negative post count You do have a valid point which just flys over the head of some here. I would call this a Super Negative Angle just like the other ones done to Jericho (Steph as manager) and Kane (Katie Vick)

Bottom line, the angle is misdirected and inappropriate to its environment, but most of all, it's not entertaining. I still can't wrap my head around your negative post count. How is that possible?
