Guest EQ Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I don't really know too much about this, but I guess it's the original Japanese film that inspired the one that recently came out over here. I saw it on available on DVD the other day (way overpriced, BTW) but I was wondering if anyone on here has seen it and whether or not it's worth picking up considering I liked the one that came out here.
Guest El Satanico Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Way overpriced? It's not THAT high. You should be able to find it for $24.99 or less at most good stores. Most people who have seen both have said that you'll probably prefer whichever one you saw first. I bought both, but haven't watched Ringu yet.
Guest NoCalMike Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I think Ringu might have been the BETTER film if I saw it first. The whole story behind the tape/girl/girl's family is quite DIFFERENT, so you won't have to worry about sitting through the exact same movie(subtitles). Oh well, you be the judge.

I saw it at Best Buy (which to me usually has decent prices) and they had it for $27.99. FUCK THAT! I'll probably pick it up if I see it somewhere for around $20.
The Dames Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 25 bucks for that movie is still way too much. Dames
Guest areacode212 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 For NYC-area people, Entertainment Outlet on 40th St/5th Ave. supposedly has it for $19.99.
Guest Angle-plex Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 You can download it off of Kazza for free.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 The RINGU is incorrect grammar. The Japanese language has no articles (a, an, or the) and RINGU translates into English as "The Ring". So you just basically called it The The Ring. Sorry, I just learned that last Saturday and wanted to look like a bigshot. Anyhoo, SRP for Ringu is $29.99, way too high for a barebones DVD.
Guest Crucifixio Jones Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 In a rare instance of SUNCOAST beating ANYONE's prices, they have Ringu for $19.99.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Suncoast...new DVD...cheap? I am shocked and appalled.
