Guest ConchairtoHead Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 Im just curious what kinda tables have been used in WWF(E)/WCW/ECW/XPW? Have they all used chipboard tables or have any used the real (heavyweight) tables? Because at an Aussie Wrestling Supershow they werent using that chipboard crap but the different kind.. i cant explain but its made of layers and layers of wood. They weight a tonne aswell! (i know, i got half of one in my room that i took from the Supershow) So who used what kinda tables?
Guest Eagan469 Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 I remember when HHH faced Cactus Jack on RAW at MSG in 1997, they used a balsa wood table (according to the sheets at the time)
Guest ConchairtoHead Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 yeah thats right. I remember that one. lol it looked soooo crappy.
Guest TheGame2705 Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 LOL yeah it would have been funnier if it was hard wood and it really hurt HHH and Cactus
Guest NoCalMike Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Remember when Sabu was on RAW and he wrestled 2 Cold Scorpio(Flash Funk) and that damn table wouldn't break, even after 2 attempts. There were all sorts of rumors that Vince used a stiff table on purpose.
Guest treble charged Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 In terms of comedy value, nothing beats Tori bouncing off of Bubba Ray and them having to repeat the spot with Road Dogg giving her an extra push.
Guest HellSpawn Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 I think they are called "Cocktail Tables", made of fake wood or something, recently I used one, they are heavy.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 And aren't they usually pre-cut?
Guest ConchairtoHead Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 the one i got from the Aussie Supershow wasnt pre cut.. but they dont need to be precut anyway. The center of the table is the weakest part, take a person off the top rope (someone who weighs upwards of 200 lbs) and drop em i the center and it will break with no problems.. unless Angle is trying to put you through it.. lol
Guest snuffbox Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 balsa wood table... I remember at Bash at the Beach 96, Nasty Boys vs. Public Enemy, there was a real bitch table that wouldnt break despite some hardass bumps on it. That might not have been gimmicked too well.
Guest mickberna Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 The tables are just cheap particle board. They break like twigs and generally don't require any prep. Anyone who is using real wood tables is not only paying too much, but is endangering their workers.
Guest T®ITEC Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 (edited) What kind of table were they using when Grandmasta Sexay broke one with his damn foot? It was around Survivor Series 2000, I think. EDIT: Nevermind. Edited March 22, 2003 by superfluousT®ITEC
Guest Sturgis Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 I remember when HHH faced Cactus Jack on RAW at MSG in 1997, they used a balsa wood table (according to the sheets at the time) If it was Balsa Wood how were they able to stand on it for 10 seconds(give or take) to do the piledriver spot?
Guest Nevermortal Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Ever seen tables they use in Japan? Someone obviously hasn't clued them in to the fact that they need to use pre-cut tables. Those things are so fucking sturdy that they can withstand a goddamn nuclear bomb strike.
Guest ConchairtoHead Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 It depends on the kind of bump someone takes. My table was set up on the outside and a guy came off the top rope and tumbled through it.
