Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 From wwe.com: World Wrestling Entertainment's June pay-per-view will now be known as WWE Bad Blood. This year, the extravaganza is scheduled for Sunday, June 15 at the Compaq Center in Houston -- the first WWE pay-per-view in the hometown of Booker T and the Undertaker since WrestleMania X-Seven
Zetterberg is God Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Not a bad name. At least the pointless KOTR PPV is gone.
Guest AndrewTS Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Does this mean HBK will be around for at least 3 more months?
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Well, it's apparently the first raw-only ppv, so we can all look forward to Kane vs Jeff Hardy being an upper midcard match.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 They did a Bad Blood back in the day no? Was there just one?
The Dames Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Yep, October 5, 1997 IIRC. Brian Pillman died that day and it was also the first HIAC match with HBK vs. Taker. Dames
Guest AndrewTS Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 They did a Bad Blood back in the day no? Was there just one? Yeah--In Your House: Badd Blood--where the first Hell in a Cell match took place.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 How are they going to keep people interested in Brand exclusive PPV's when the storylines in general are crap, the stepping stone for up and comers like the IC belt and the King of the Ring are gone and the recent rash of injuries have put a chunk of their more recognizable stars are on the shelf? After Mania, I don't think I'll be ordering another PPV for a long while.
Guest Choken One Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Don't order...Go to a bar with friends...It's 100xs better that way...Beer and Wings make up for Test and 3MW.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 99% of the time beer and wings WITHOUT Test and 3MW are better than beer and wings with them. I know I'd rather enjoy the two without having to answer the ever-present "why do you watch this shit?" question.
Guest converge241 Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 one of the best one time PPV names
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 It won't be as good as this Not to say they are stealing the name, since they had it first and it's really common, but Taker and Heyman are both big MMA fans (as is Bradshaw, and probably a host of others) so I can see how they could push for this name...
Guest LatinoHeat Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 I remember for the '97 ppv they spelt "bad" with 2 d's.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 They should have had 'blood' spelled as 'bludd' to complete the unnecessary tack-ons
Guest razazteca Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Will Booker T be champ or chump that month? HHH vs Austin again? Jazz vs Victoria for the love of Steven Richards? Rodney Mack vs Jeff Hardy the curtain jerker?
Guest Flyboy Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Will Booker T be champ or chump that month? Do you really have to ask?
Ultimo Dugas Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 I wonder if the WWE will blame the horrible buyrate Bad Blood is gonna get on the removal of the King of the Ring or the fact thats its RAW only.
Guest The Hamburglar Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Bad Blood...Waaaaait a minute.... OMG! THIS NAME DISCRIMINATES AGAINST PPL WITH AIDS!!!! HHHIV IS HHHOLDING THE VIRUS!!!!1111!!! WWE IS TEH OFFENSIVE!!!
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 ehh...doesn't do much for me, guess it was easier to call it that then to think up something new, eh? Badd Blood...the ppv where Vince annouced to the at home audiance that Pillman passed...THEN HE FOLLOWED IT UP with "It may have been druge related, we just don't know"...now why the hell would you mention that?
Guest JMTapes Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Cool, I like it. How about Booker defending his Raw title in his home town? www.jmtapes.com
Guest netslob Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 what happened to the other D? it got the F out.
Guest Retro Rob Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 It won't be as good as this Not to say they are stealing the name, since they had it first and it's really common, but Taker and Heyman are both big MMA fans (as is Bradshaw, and probably a host of others) so I can see how they could push for this name... The WWF used the name in the fall of 1997.

Well. he did say "Not to say they are stealing the name, since they had it first" But I doubt that any MMA event had anything to do with what WWE calls their shows.
Guest JDMattitudeV1 Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 I always liked the name Bad Blood so I'm glad they decided to bring it back. Last years KOTR was utter shit with one of the worst main events in WWE PPV history, and most of the other KOTR weren't much better (how they fucked up KOTR 2000 I'll never know.)
Guest The Czech Republic Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 I wish they'd keep the name retired, like with Over the Edge, but hey.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Hmmm, King of the Ring needs new name. War going on in the middle east. People are dying. Lots of Blood spilled. Rename the June PPV "Badd Blood. Yup, sounds about right for WWE.

Rename the June PPV "Badd Blood. Yup, sounds about right for WWE. Hey, it's a wrestling PPV. Usually violence-related names are the norm anyway: Summerslam, Armageddon, Capital Carnage, Insurrextion, Rebellion, Vengeance, etc. Should it be called WWE Happy Rays of Goodness Shining Through A Window on a Warm Spring Day? Plus they aren't creative enough to think of any more good names that wouldn't fall into either category.
