Guest whatitistoburn Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 http://www.zackdelarocha.com/index.html Go download. Zach + Dj Shadow = Awesomeness. I will admit that I am a hardcore RATM/Zach De La Rocha mark. I hope the rest of his solo stuff is this good, because me personally, I think this track is absolutly incredible.
Guest Incandenza Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Pros Dj Shadow = Da Man Nowhere near as embarassing lyrically as that Beastie Boys song. Cons Zack is still a shitty rapper. Just stop, man. Seriously.
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Zach sucks. Cornell's waaay better. Good decision Tom, Tim, and Brad...
B. Brian Brunzell Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Zach sucks. Cornell's waaay better. Good decision Tom, Tim, and Brad... Shit man, there aren't too many folks out there that can equal or surpass Cornell's vocal prowess. He rocks my world and everyone else's.
Guest whatitistoburn Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Bunch of savages on this board...
Guest converge241 Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 DJ Shadow is a god ENtroducing= one of the best albums ever
Guest Nevermortal Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 DJ Shadow is cool. But Zack De La Rocha sucks. And I cannot support this song. [puts on War Ensemble]
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 God bless Zach. Nice to hear from someone who actually at least knows what he's talking about on the whole thing. Oh I do so plan to take his vocals off that track and stick them over the top of the instrumental version of Cochise.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 what is with all of the zach hate???? admittedly, he's no ...um... skee lo? but seriously, within rage's sound, his voice fit perfectly and created a stream of sound that i personally thought couldn't be matched creatively. i didn't bother downloading this song. maybe, everything i just said gets thrown out the window after hearing it.
Guest Oaf Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 I personally liked Rage Against the Machine. I thought Zach de la Rocha had a lot to say and wasn't afraid to say it. He brought a whole lot of energy to the music... which is something that Chris Cornell lacks.
Guest Lethargic Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 That one song is better than the entire Audioslave CD on it's own. I'd actually listen to this CD and not want to take a box cutter to it.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Zach was a perfect fit for Rage. Actually comparing RATM and Audioslave is a little wacky, considering Audioslave sounds like Cornell's solo album meets Evil Empire. It's an idea that had so much potential and so much hype, but then immediately fell flat like a 3-day old Coke. Rage's s/t album alone totally destroys Audioslave.
Guest The Hamburglar Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Zach was a great fit for Rage, but here its just that his voice gets in the way of Shadow's greatness. DJ Shadow = God. Zach needs that Morello power to back him up.
Guest residueofsociety Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 The song wasn't that bad, I am very interested in hearing what comes out of the studio with Zach and Trent Reznor.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 I will agree with with the theory of RATM's ST absolutely butchering anything Audioslave could ever do. Tremendous album and I cannot stand Chris Cornell's vocals which remind me of Albert's random screams when he's going for an avalanche in the corner.
