Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 21, 2003 Just turn on CNN, Fox News, or any station that is showing news, and you'll see it. This is the first time, I believe, anything like this has has even been televised live on TV. I dunno, just wanted to share this, because even I am in shock and awe at the bombardment that I'm seeing now. All I have to say, is this... ...we warned him, we warned him. I wonder what the world will have to say about this, now. Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2003 The really scary part is that this is a CONTROLLED fury, not blind bomb dropping. We've hit his palaces while avoiding residential areas next door. Power plants have been left untouched so the residents are able to have lights. The way we as a military system are able to deliver such destruction in such a controlled way is amazing.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted March 21, 2003 Damn. The fact that hell has been unleashed on Baghdad and there will most likely be a limited amount of civilian casualties shocks and awes ME.

I was sitting here thinking the exact same thing. They keep saying that they hope that Kim Jong Il is watching this and realizing what could happen to him and his country, but I STILL say that there is no chance in hell we'd do anything even close to this in North Korea this quickly. North Korea is an entirely different beast than Iraq.

Guest Plushy Al Logan Report post Posted March 21, 2003 My prediction: After we waste our ammo on blowing up Iraq, N. Korea, and/or Iran attacks us for some reason, and terrorists will attack us again, forcing us into stage 5 alert.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 21, 2003 Damn. The fact that hell has been unleashed on Baghdad and there will most likely be a limited amount of civilian casualties shocks and awes ME. More than a few will die, but it will seem like it's much much more. I'm just sitting here waiting now for Iraqi TV to start showing pictures of children, the sick, women, and the elderly, just as they did in the GW.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 21, 2003 This could have all been avoided. I don't know where I stand on the war. But I do know that Saddam is an asshole that needed to get out of power. And he'd have better served his people by bailing when he could of.

Korea, and/or Iran attacks us for some reason, and terrorists will attack us again, forcing us into stage 5 alert. I wouldn't be surprised at all, and when you think about it, it would make perfect sense. What I fear, is that if we don't find the illegal weapons promptly, it will further fuel other countries to actually HELP Iraq and the such. I hate to think what would happen if we fail to find the weapons (either from being hidden so well, or being totally moved to another country).

Hell, to help his own personal cause, he will murder them himself, he's done it before. Saddam is a perfect example of a true to life narcissist. He cares about having his face everywhere, owning the middle east, and covering his own ass.

Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 21, 2003 I doubt anyone is going to help Iraq. Whether we find anything or not, it's a general consensus that Saddam is fucking insane and an oppressive madman. We haven't hurt any civillians, and it doesn't appear that we're going to with these controlled bombing runs. The world may disagree with us a great deal. But we're doing too many people in that area a favor for them to come after us anytime soon. Save for the Terrorists. But fuck the terrorists. I hope they see now that when they prod us enough we'll send them straight to hell.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 21, 2003 I'm a little suprised his own people haven't turned on him. I understand how he rules over them and they're frightened, but at this stage you'd think people know it's over. Like the burning oil and whatnot. You'd think his own guys would see that he's not going to be in power much longer and realize that it's better for the country if they don't.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 21, 2003 His people may not be able to see the information that we're able to. Hell, they've even distorted events we've already covered. Who knows what kind of false orders and reports his army is being given.

Who knows what kind of false orders and reports his army is being given. I'm not compairing this on the same scale as Hitler. But when Hitler knew he was done he ordered his men to kill the remaining Jews they had in their camps. But his men knew that they were done and decided to go against his word. I'd think the Iraqi fighters would be smart enough to know better. that's all really.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 21, 2003 I could VERY easilly see Iran and NK getting in on this. If not dirrectly going to Iraq to take part in action there, then other sorts of military action around the world. Right now would be the perfect time to do so, for their own twisted goals. Like it or not, there is still a number of people there which defend Saddam, and dislikes us for what we are doing. After 30 or so years of being in a certain type of enviroment, many are just simply used to what they know, it's all they know really. You also have to take into consideration the religious beliefs and other such things, this isn't all just cut and dry. I wish I could sit here and think like the average Iraqi, I'd love to know what's in their minds right now.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted March 21, 2003 Saddam and his high raninkng military officials and family aren't going to surrender. Saddam is going to make the U.S. kill him, so he ends up being a martyr and also so that the US has to violate the policy of no political assassinations. Saddam is going to make the U.S. kill him, so he ends up being a martyr and also so that the US has to violate that thing about no political assassinations. I've shared that opinion since this all began. By the way, we're at it again in Iraq, heh.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 21, 2003 I don't know if it would be assassination. At least not technically. If he's killed in war isn't that different? I ask because I honestly don't know.

Guest Kingpk Report post Posted March 21, 2003 The ban on political assasination is thrown out in war, since Saddam is the commander of the military, that makes him a legit target.

In a war, military leaders are looked at as a "military target", just like any other building or whatnot, since they are indeed the head of the government. This includes George W. Bush by the way. The problem, comes in the eyes of others. There are some around the world who do NOT look at this as a true war, and rather a sort of terrorist attack and the such, and in THESE crazy peoples view, killing Sadam would be assassination.
