Guest kingkamala Report post Posted March 22, 2003 The worst one hit wonder of all time I believe is Jimmy Ray's "Are You Jimmy Ray?" what a god awful song. I don't even remember any resemblence of radio airplay or video for his second single, thank God. Some runner ups: Cocoa Jumbo by some Ace of Base rip-off which's name slips my mind. Maybe too soon to tell but Las Ketchup "The Ketchup Song", pure and utter shite. Butterfly by Crazy Town(Actually they're one and a half hit wonders)

Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 22, 2003 The graduation song, the one with the guy speaking in mono tone voice throughout the song. Or the Cha-Cha dance song which was nothing but a guy calling out dance steps.
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted March 22, 2003 That song "Shaniqua don't live here no mo' ". Pure and Utter crap, and thankfully you don't hear from that guy anymore Forgot that guy, a PG-13 rated Eminem that guy was. All these guys in this thread haven't had any resemblence of follow up with the exception of Chumba Whumba who had two unsuccessful follow ups (She's Got All The Friends Money Can Buy and some other terrible song). I gotta add Aqua, I think someone on this board liked Aqua( Probably Kotzenjunge.)
Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted March 22, 2003 New one...Macarena. Oh, and another one who offended me personally as a human being, the Vitamin C graduation song. DIE DIE DIE!
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted March 22, 2003 What about the Cherry Poppin' Daddies or anyone from when they tried to bring swing back? Though, you can't get much worse than Jimmy Ray. My mom actually paid a buck for his single. Oh yeah and I was the guy who liked Aqua, though I believe Kotz may like them as well.
Guest goodhelmet Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Tubthumper. 100% agreed. what the hell was I thinking when I picked up fucking Chumbawumba???? if you go back a few years, you would also find "they're going to take me away haha" and 'fly robin fly' and a slew of other disco and novelty trash songs on this list. Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Afroman's "Then I got high". Without a doubt the worst song i've ever heard, slightly humerous the first time, fucking annoying the other 20 million times you hear it. He gave an interview about his second single stating that 'He was determined to prove he was no one hit wonder'. Excuse me while i kill myself with laughter. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 23, 2003 That song "Shaniqua don't live here no mo' ". Pure and Utter crap, and thankfully you don't hear from that guy anymore Does that even constitute as a hit? I know it got a little airplay and all. Too many people confuse "singles" with "hits" I'm going with SR-71...they reminded me too much of the Goo Goo Dolls. The song was "Right Now" or something along those lines. My mom actually paid a buck for his single. Oh yeah and I was the guy who liked Aqua, though I believe Kotz may like them as well. I like the Cherry Poppin Daddies, but then again I like Swing music. I totally agree with "The Ketchup Song", that has to be one of the worse songs EVER!! I mean they aren't even usig real words. It's a song made up of entirely jibberish. I also want to throw in "Loving You" and "You Light up my Life". These are the two worse songs from the 70's, period. Macarena is also a crappy song. Worse, during my Frat days, a bunch of my bros. had gone down to Mexico for Spring Break, and when they came back, they brought that song, and I had the pleasur eof listning to it. Worse is when the song caught on with the rest of the US and world over. The Aqua song you are mentioning is "Barbie Girl" and that is in a whole class of bad, by itself. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted March 23, 2003 How about RuPaul's song? I think it was called "Cover Girl." "I Wish," by Skee-Lo "Ditty," by Paperboy (at least I think it was Paperboy) "Gangsta Lean," by D.R.S.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted March 23, 2003 man, what is up with all the aqua hate? 'barbie girl' is a fun little throwaway song that's got a cool video and a sense of humor.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Razazteca, are you talking about Chris Rock and "No Sex In The Champagne Room"? I actually found that one pretty funny. I nominate that song "Bizarre". It went something along the lines of "How Bizarre, how bizarre, oh how bizarre". What the fuck is up with that shit?? I think they were only around in Canada though.. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Afroman's "Then I got high". AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I Hate, hate, hate that song. That definately held the "number one worst song I've ever heard" title (Currently being held by "Sing for the Moment") for a good three months. I never got the appeal. And is anyone else alarmed my"WSIEH" can change so requently? Just goes to show the state of today's music.

No, he means Baz Luhrmann's Sunscreen song. Chris Rock's was a parody of it.

I think they were only around in Canada though.. Yay... "How Bizarre" by OMC. I remember liking that song... course, I was 9 at the time. I hated "Mouth" by Merril Bainbridge too... piece of ass, of course, but awful singer. Anyone else remember "I Love You, Always, Forever"? by some woman named Donna? That was OK, I guess, but I'm just asking. Of course, the worst of all is "MacArthur Park" by Richard Harris.

Guest iamsherm Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Maybe too soon to tell but Las Ketchup "The Ketchup Song", pure and utter shite. I think it's debatable that this song was even a hit. I never heard it until I just listened to a clip of it on Amazon out of curiosity. Seems like the record company wanted it to be a hit, but nobody bought it.
