Guest bravesfan Report post Posted March 24, 2003 One-Hit Wonder, overall: Who Let The Dogs Out? by the Baha Men. One-Hit Wonder via a cover: Just A Friend by Mario. Hopefully, I won't have to hear THAT again.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 24, 2003 one song I dislike = I dislike the band Is Dynamite Hack better than Bloodhound Gang? I dunno...I don't know enough about the Bloodhound Gang. D Hack is just a good rock band. Some people would throw out the word "punk," but who knows what that even is anymore. But they do rock harder then today's so called "punk" bands
Guest EricMM Report post Posted March 24, 2003 That LFO song is the utter drizzling shits. It is exactly what is wrong with America's youth today. But Baha Men are still worse....
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I actually marked out for that shitty LFO song, cos I knew they weren't going anywhere. Here in the UK some idiots paid for a satellite linkup just to interview them, and it was painful to watch. Those guys were THICK.
Guest Nanks Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Kotzenjunge Posted: Mar 23 2003, 12:49 AM My question is, if this had been asked before 2002, how many of you would have said "Locomotion?" I'm going to assume you know this, but just in case, you do realise that Kylie released countless hits between Locomotion and last year don't you???

Guest notJames Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Since I hate both Top 40 radio and eMpTy-V, I'd have to say that I hate the entire mainstream music industry for constantly churning out these talentless fuckwads while ignoring the countless talentless artists and bands who struggle on the road playing tiny gigs and can outperform any of those retarded assholes on American Idol et al. by virtue of a) writing their own songs and b) not relying on gimmicky TV shows to showcase their talent. The music biz is overflowing with these dime-a-dozen wedding singers who lay down mediocre vocals on shitty over-produced ditties written by faceless studio hacks, and I for one am glad I gave up mainstream music a long time ago. Fuck them all.

I know just as well as anyone outside the US how INCREDIBLE Kylie's been for her entire 15 year musical career. However, before last year, pretty much everyone had forgotten her. And at last count, NASA calculated approximately 1,573,852,963,756 awesome things she's done since she was born.
Guest Nanks Report post Posted March 25, 2003 It's very hard to break into the US Music Industry. Her management was happy sweeping the British and Australian markets for all those year, and they decided, fuck it, let's go for it when she went on a mad #1 streak in both countries with her last album

Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted March 25, 2003 I've read that before and it's hysterical. Good thing they didn't invite Mongo McMichael to the sessions... Obligatory content: a bad one-hit wonder would have to be Da Da Da.

Guest godthedog Report post Posted March 26, 2003 Push th' little daisies by Ween. whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, WHOA! tell me you did NOT just diss motherfuckin' WEEN on this board. first, they're not a one-hit wonder: "voodoo lady" got quite a bit of airplay, & ended up being a bigger hit than "push the little daisies." second, ween was the most consistently inventive band of the 90s. the range of sounds they covered in 'the pod' alone makes radiohead seem like nsync. third, if you hated the song, you apparently didn't get the joke. it's supposed to be stupid and not taken seriously. Guest AlwaysPissedOff Report post Posted March 27, 2003 He, Baha Men's "Who Let the Dogs Out" is kind of a cover as well because a Southern rap group released a similar song like 3 years before they did.
Guest thetrendsetter Report post Posted March 27, 2003 Snow is a one-hit wonder in the states... But he's had a few #1's in Canada since Informer... Funnily enough, he's more legit crime badass than 2/3rds the rappers
Guest Slingshot Suplex Report post Posted March 27, 2003 I Know What Boys Like by the Waitresses They may have been one-hit wonders (although I think Christmas Wrapping may have charted,I don't know) but the Waitresses own. Funnily enough, he's more legit crime badass than 2/3rds the rappers That's kinda the funny thing though - he's not really a rapper. It's more of a dancehall/reggae style that he has. Funnily enough, he's more legit crime badass than 2/3rds the rappers He wasn't a one hit wonder here either... Girl I've Been Hurt was released as the second single and got tons of airplay. The followup (and a damn good song), Runway, didn't get much play, and then he faded out. And Turtle Power fucking ownz. I just listened to it yesterday, no lie. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2003 "Somebody's Watching Me" by ... um... that guy. Rockwell? Only reason anyone cared was because Michael Jackson did the chorus as a favor to the record producer. Oh, and "I Know What Boys Like" is awesome. So there. Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted March 28, 2003 "Somebody's Watching Me" by ... um... that guy. Rockwell? Only reason anyone cared was because Michael Jackson did the chorus as a favor to the record producer. Rockwell is Barry Gordy's son, so that's why he was calling in favors for him. I actually like the song, the chorus is good with Michael on it and the rest is quirky and catchy.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2003 I suppose the chorus is good enough to catapult it over "Who Let The Dogs Out?" Which I had actually managed to forget until now.
