Guest Redhawk Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Ideally you could have both -- a group of women who wrestle and a group who's just there for eye candy -- but WWE can't help themselves about constantly mixing the two. So we get Jacqueline trying to get over as a serious wrestler one week by almost beating a guy, then she's tossing Torrie around a Gravy Bowl the next week. Or we get Stacy getting her ass squirted by Lawler one week, then getting destroyed by Victoria in a match the next week. I think they need to stick to one or the other. Either drop the whole female wrestling thing, meaning get rid of the Women's title and only have women around for storyline development and T & A -- or drop the girls who can't wrestle and be serious about the Women's division. I'm sick and tired of women being degraded to sex symbols, but that is probably because I am a girl. That is about the only thing that I think Raw does better than Smackdown; the portrayal of women. I would rather see Trish, Jazz and Victoria fight for the title than Dawn Marie, Torrie and Nidia fight for a spot in Playboy and then see Torrie acting like she just won a Nobel Prize when she is picked. In this day and age t'n'a is a lot more accesable so using girls for ratings this way isn't going to work like it did in the past. As far as the T&A bits, just keep them off of RAW so we don't have to listen to Lawler's pederass'd self cream his shorts every week. Taz handles the T&A stuff a lot better. Trish, Jazz and Jackie(not too bad) are good wrestlers, and well Lita isn't too bad but she seems to freeze when she's in the ring. The more popular ones are kinda like Trish with better wrestling skills: they look hot, but can get it done inside the ring. Of course, that's partly because Japan is decades behind even the U.S. in gender equality, so being used for T&A isn't shocking. Hell, they pose nude for magazines all the time, and Cutie Suzuki did porno--could you imagine if Trish did that? Er, well, probably some of you already have... The wrestling itself is terrible, and I hate it. I never watch it, and I don't even think the women should be used for T&A like that. I watch wrestling FOR WRESTLING, not T&A. Right now, I can turn to the girl to the right of me, and look at her, which I just did. I don't care for women in the wrestling business. And it isn't because I am sexist. If someone comes close to saying that, I'll get pissed. It isn't because I don't like women in a men's thing, I just don't like women's wrestling. If anything, women should be just straight up valets/managers. They can show some boobs, but they don't have to be having Bra and Panties matches. I think it is a disgrace to women. Basically, women's wrestling doesn't draw a dime either. You won't here a person say, "Wow, I can't wait for that Trish Stratus match. The reason why WWE T&A doesn't sell is because they don't go far enough. None of my friends believe it anymore, you must give the fans the bait occasionally. There is no reason to ever switch as T&A is the one thing guys can't ever get enough of. No one gives a shit about seeing Stacy wearing wet pants, or dawn in granny panties, or women in santa outfits you would find in a department store. Just have them come out and wrestle in crisco in thongs, thats what guys want. Have them lose their top occasionally, hell if HHH can drop if pants so can they.
