Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 29, 2003 BoboBrazil asked for some WWE news and rumors from the Observer and since I have times, I'll provide in note form. -The plan for the Backlash Main event is Rock vs Goldberg. -Austin did and interview with Alex Marvez. He said his contract expires in June and not September like originally thought. He is working on a renewal right now, much of that to be in a NON-WRESTLING CAPACITY. -Austin also said in the interview that he backs up every word of the RAW magazine interview and named a lot more names of people he thought were problems that didn't make the article. He said one of the reasons he left last year that never came out was he's got major back and neck problems. He said he has never been the same since Booker T broke his back in 2001 at KOTR. -MRI on Kidman revealed that his neck problems aren't as bad as originally feared. -Rock's next movie "Helldorado" is being renamed "Welcome to the Jungle" and is scheduled for release on 9/26. He starts filming "Walking Tall" on 6/26. "Walking Tall" is loosely based on the 70's movie, but Rock doesn't look like a Southern Redneck, he is not playing Buford Pusser and it's not based in the South. Instead, he's playing a guy named Tom and it's based in the state of Washington, where, working as a logger he discovers all kinds of corruption. -The SD marriages (feuds) post Mania are Lesnar/Cena for the title, Taker and Jones vs Show and A-Train, Rikishi/Kanyon most likely with Jackie Gayda, Mysterio/Hardy, Team Angle/Los Guerreros, and O'Haire and Kendrick/FBI. That's all there is worth mentioning as far as news and rumors. Source:Observer Newsletter

Guest Rob Van Dam Report post Posted March 29, 2003 those smackdown feuds sound decent i can't wait for cena/lesnar and Fbi/o'haire and kendrick
Guest Banky Report post Posted March 29, 2003 If Cena just gets squashed without any sort of momentum, I'll be pissed. They have raised his stock over the past few weeks, they shouldn't shunt it back down.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I read that Jackie has been playing Kanyon's valet at house shows and such. So hopefully that's all she'll be doing, and not stepping into the ring.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted March 29, 2003 So since i dont see any other possibilities I guess Rhyno and Benoit are going to break up and feud.
Bored 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2003 -The SD marriages (feuds) post Mania are Lesnar/Cena for the title, Taker and Jones vs Show and A-Train, Rikishi/Kanyon most likely with Jackie Gayda, Mysterio/Hardy, Team Angle/Los Guerreros, and O'Haire and Kendrick/FBI. Source:Observer Newsletter Obviously this is all speculation but Metlz is the most reliable. Cena/Lesnar- obviously we all know this is happening Taker/Jones vs. Show/A-Train- omg I can't believe they are gonna continue this crap. My guess is they'll break off into singles action, Taker/A-Train and Jones/Show. Of course if Jones completely embarasses himself (even more) at WM I'm sure he'll be kept out of singles action...I think. Rikishi/Kanyon & Jackie Gayda- First off thrilled Kanyon will be on t.v. but every midcard fued Rikishi gets it is VERY one sided so I have a bad feeling about this. I would hope they learned their lesson with Jackie and will keep her out of the ring but even as eye candy she isn't that great. Does anyone actually find her all that atractive? Mysterio/Hardy- I'd take this as Matt will retain the title at WM as I thought he would...*edit* err I mean as I feel they should do with Rey winning the title at Backlash. Up to now I've felt Rey would win at WM. Team Angle/Los Guerreros- well we knew Rhyno/Benoit wouldn't be winning the titles and with the results of Smackdown with both Guerreros going over you have to assume Team Angle will retain with Los Guerreros winning the titles at Backlash. O'Haire/Kendrick vs. FBI- hmmmm I'm intrigued...at least O'Haire finally shows up on t.v. beyond the occasional backstage appearance. Wis there was some insight on what will be going on Raw but I'm guessing creative doesn't even know yet.

Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Sorry Bob, no word on Regal's status. However, there was a section of WWE news I forgot about.(although it may have already been mentioned in these forums) -Nash will be returning using the name Diesel. There were two ways they were talking about going as mentioned last week with the favorite being to come back babyface and aligned with HBK since they were tag champs back in 94. Few of today's audience is even aware of that and the percentage of people who know Diesel as compared to Kevin Nash is very small. However, Diesel is a Vince creation and Nash is a WCW creation adn playing the political game, you can see Nash making that decision. Either way in the long run it's exactly the same.

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I'm reading Meltz's preview and got some ?s- What did he say about Hennig's death and the TNA buyrate estimates? Thanks DA
Guest Dangerous A Report post Posted March 30, 2003 On Hennig's death: The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed on 3/25 that the death of Curt Hennig was due to acute cocaine intoxication. Dr Jacqueline Lee, and Assistant Medical Examiner who performed the autopsy was quick to note THIS WAS NOT A COCAINE OVERDOSE. It was her belief that the cocaine Hennig had ingested that showed up in the toxicology reports caused the heart to beat faster while at the same time contricting the blood vessels, basically causing the heart to work against itself and overload, causing death. There is potential for even a small dose of cocaine to cause the problems that killed Hennig. There has been a police investigation into Hennig's death centering on the belief that the scene of the crime was tampered with before police were called as well as based on attempting to find who supplied the cocaine for his death. I'll get to the TNA buyrate estimates later tonight in the TNA folder.
Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Thanks for posting this. THere isn't really anything interesting this week it seems. It is a shame Kanyon is getting stuck with a valet and in a feud with Rikishi. Everyone they bring in as a heel always starts off vs Rikishi and they always job over and over again. Plus Kanyon is good on the mic and doesn't need Jackie Gayda.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Team Angle/Los Guerreros - Los Guerreros need more backstage skits, dammit! Or at least mic time! O'Haire and Kendrick/FBI - Hmmm...I'm torn on this one. Personally, I think Kendrick works better with cruiserweights like Shannon Moore, but on the other hand, he and O'Haire would make a great team.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Team Angle/Los Guerreros - Los Guerreros need more backstage skits, dammit! Or at least mic time! Just as long as it any of those god awful "Lie, Cheat & steal" sitcoms. I liked them MUCH better when they would cause mayhem with Angle and Benoit.

The first one was pretty damn funny, in my opinion. Second one.....okay. Third one...also funny. But, yeah, I agree with you. They were much more interesting during the Smackdown 6 era. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 30, 2003 JACKIE GAYDA!? WHAT THE FUCK!? Gayda has been Kanyon's valet for dark matches. Cena already main eventing? Well, I guess there isn't really any hot heels for Cena to face... Taker and Jones vs. Show and A-Train? Oh shit. Otherwise looks good. Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Rikishi/Kanyon feud? Oh, Jeebus. Why not pair up Kanyon w/ somebody with whom can work? And who won't squash him in every match? Vince: "Hey, Kanyon, you almost died getting back in shape from your knee injury. As a display of our appreciation for your dedication, we'll re-debut you on TV singing Boy George, and then get destroyed by Taker. Then we'll pair you up w/ the worst TE winner, and feud you w/ Rikishi." Kanyon: "Ummm, thanks?"
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted March 30, 2003 If Cena just gets squashed without any sort of momentum, I'll be pissed. They have raised his stock over the past few weeks, they shouldn't shunt it back down. Relax, he's WWE home-grown. The worst they'd do is make him look a little foolish. And that's at worst. I don't think he should even be made to look foolish. He needs to take his gimmick, allow it to mature, and look to be a serious threat. Not only to Brock, but to ANYONE in WWE. I knew he would be a great heel, I know he will be a great heel, and they can not allow this to get screwed up. I wouldn't give the title to him this soon, I do NOT want the title changing every month this year as it did last year after Wrestlemania. I simply want them to solidify John Cena once and for all. He has all it takes to do so, and all he needs now is a feud in which he at least, at LEAST, is made to look strong as hell.

Angle has a hell of a lot more talent than John Cena also, his work in the ring makes up for his being made to look like a fool in my eyes most of the time. I wish he wasn't like that, but eh, it's how things are for now at least. John Cena is the type of guy that needs to just look extremely strong, NOT to be made to look like an ass. He needs to be the type of guy that is a badass outside of the ring and on the mic, and in the ring he pulls off the "natural" heelish tatics.
