They ruined his fucking surprise debut in a promo for the next fucking ppv. How fucking stupid.

'Fucking Stupid' and 'WWE' go hand in hand these days.

How did they ruin something, that most people on the net, already know? How many didn't know he was already signed? You already knew, so how can they surprise you. Every smark knows, but IMO most marks don't know.

Thats how they did the nWo...made us wait till No way Out, and they didn't even have a match.

That is my point. I already knew, but they ruined the surprise for everyone else. Only about 5-10% of people knew he was coming in at most.

They figure the most people will be watching the WWE tonight so what a better way to say "hey, watch next week" or whatever than show Goldberg?

Yeah, but that's very superficial logic.

The proper way to look at it is that wrestling fans watch for "markout" moments--and what bigger markout could there possibly be than seeing Goldberg coming out of nowhere at Wrestlemania?

That's how you get people watching--instead of, "hey dude Goldberg is showing up at Backlash!" Have them go "OMG OMG!~~!!11`11 @#%@# Goldberg came out of nowhere at Wrestlemania! It was so awesome I almost peed my pants! Now don't you feel like an ass for not spending $40!" Reply: "Aw yeah man I feel so dumb, I'm definitely gonna start paying attention and buying PPVs now!"

This is why they should've had Austin as a surprise Rumble entrant; no one would have forgotten that. It would have been one of the most memorable moments of all time. Instead, he comes back, they hype up No Way Out, and pop the ratings a lot for 3 weeks. Then, after 3 weeks, everything is back to normal. The nWo was the same way. Just a bad business move.

While the superficial logic says that promoting an appearance is the best way to pop a buyrate, and that a "shock" appearance is "wasting" the surprise, it's actually the opposite--the surprises are much better for the long-term health of the business. You have to give fans true markout moments--they get addicted to them.

My friends just called me from the Bar... they said the biggest pop of the night was the Goldberg Promo.

Hey marks, Goldberg is going to return. You want to see him come back? Well, he will...

AT BACKLASH!! Fork over the $29.99 please...

Fuck WWE and fuck Goldberg.

Creative, I completely agree. The WWE should worry about quality television rather than a quick buyrate/rating.

Right.

The WWE motto is "FUCK THE FANS, but take their money anyway."

He's going to be on RAW, tomorrow. That's when everyone will see him & mark out.

Bwahahahahahahahaha...

...yes, join me people, join me and my markdom for Goldberg.

All they have done is let the world know he's coming. Now people will tune into the shows waiting to see him come in, and all of that. I doubt he'll wrestle untill Backlash, but so what? I'm sure we'll see him on RAW tomorrow night, and if not then, sometime very soon.

They cheered for Steiner too btw.

WWE: We Hate our fans.

Why does this mean they hate the fans? By telling them that a big star is coming in?

Guest RavishingRickRudo

It's more like giving their fans a big surprise and quality television rather than wanting to get a quick buyrate.

Guest Will Scarlet

So more bait & switching until the PPV where he comes in, doesn't do much of anything, and quickly becomes just another guy on the roster? Well...they'll pop a buyrate, I guess.

ill be happy as long as goldberg beats HHH is less than 15 seconds

No.

Gee, Steiner got pops too, and Hogan consistently gets pops although his title run alienated many fans. They'll continually jerk the fans around until the PPV, and maybe deliver an appearance at most.

And Goldberg will not be on Raw. That will be Diesel's big night I think.

I certainly hope so, since it looks like I am going to be missing the second half of Raw tomorrow because people are idiots.

*Goldburg runs in during Rock/Austin WM match*

Smarks: Bwah! Damn you WWE, Why did you waste Goldburg's debuet without hyping it?? You should've just had a promo saying "he's coming..." Get the buzz started... Giving away his 1st appearence for free.. Fuck the WWE..No wonder business sucks...

_____

You all realize you bitch no matter what happens, and I find it hard to take any thing most of you say seriously, because none of you are hardly ever happy

what if Goldberg started a whole new streak.... a LOSING streak

think about it...signs that say-

0-121 AND COUNTING!

that would sell! MAD POPS!

Goldbeg will be on before Backlash to a build a feud with The Rock. If anything fans will tune into RAW for more info about Goldberg's return. The Rock's last PPV is Backlash and Goldberg was brought in primarily to fued with him. Don't worry kiddies.

PS. The show ruled tonight.

man, goldberg is gonna get a title shot at backlash, they wanna get the belt on him as quickly as possible

i know i do...

I dont understand how they ruined the G'berg surprise. It was a hype/debut video. It'll get people pumped up.

WWE: We Hate our fans.

I think it's more they hate Smarks. G'Berg is obviously being brought in for the casual or WCW fan. Smart Move that should have been done two years ago.

Guest RavishingRickRudo

No, goldberg is being brought in for $$$. The WWE has long stopped being fan-centric and has become $-focused and you get easy money angles that end up flopping. Vince is more interested in giving his shareholders a reason to keep their stock than the fans to keep interest.
