Guest Dynamite Kido Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 Last night on Raw something really bothered me. They put HHH Vs. a man that the WWE has been pushing the best they can lately and that man is The Hurricane. Now, just because The Rock lost to The Hurricane I do not or did not expect HHH to do the job to him as well. My problem with this is that the match happened at all. Just look at the basics, like the fact that HHH beating Hurricane does absolutely nothing to futher HHH or Hurricane. I think that it would have been in everyone's best interest to not have that match at all!!! There was no reason to have HHH fight last night considering that he successfully(yea, i didn't like it either) defended his title at Wrestlemania. I think it would have been in everybodys best interest to have the Hurricane get the W over another WWE superstar this week on Raw. HHH is constantly jobbing out the entire Raw roster. Hopefully the Rock and Goldberg won't fall in this category though. And that is just the way I feel........
Guest humongous2002 Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 Hurricane is nothing but a jobber and his push was nothing but a waste of time.HHH beating Hurricane last night was just a slap in the face to Rocky(who lost to Hurricane a few weeks ago).
Enigma Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 Last night's match was weird though. It wasn't a typical HHH squash. Half of the match's offense belonged to The Hurricane. Hell, Hurricane even got his Hurri-Chokeslam in that he never hits. I'm really hoping WrestleMania made something snap in HHH's head that will make him actually try to be the worker he was in 2000.
Guest Luke Cage Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 From the looks of him, preparing to explode in a haze of swollen muscle, gristle and bottled water.

Guest Suicide King Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 What is Trips doing? What the writers and road agents tell him to.

I don't want you to think that i don't want Shane Helms getting a push, but when is a "fake" push that won't get him nowhere then that's a waste of valuable time, either push the guy or don't, Hurricane has been a jobber ever since he joined WWE, getting a fluke pin on a big star once in after 2 years and the bookers don't followthrough then that's a waste of time.On another note HHH selling to the Hurricane is another example of him selling to a guy who's not a threat to him.
Mrnoitaull Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 The only thing I can think of is that there trying to build HHH for Goldberg seeing as how he has no one else to squash. This will be his only plausible fall.(And like the only one that's big enough for HHH will pbbly fall for) That way Goldberg wil amost immediately get the title and Vince wikll get his ratings back. but het thats just my thought
Guest Memoirs of an Invisible Chevy Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 Saturn looks absolutely wicked in that sig. I fail to see the problem. Triple H actually gave the Hurricane a fair bit of offense. What he did was no different than how the Rock treated the Hurricane in his match. I am not a big fan of Satan, but c'mon, this is a tad nit picky.
Guest notJames Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 …Goldberg will almost immediately get the title and Vince will get his ratings back… These two statements are mutually exclusive. No way is that idiot (or any other desperation signee) the answer to the ratings woe. They should be throwing money at a talented writing staff instead of an over-the-hill hoss who lucked in on a gimmick.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 Hurricane is TAKA 2k3. HHH wanted to show he would "Take one for the team" by selling for the lil cruiserweight and giving him more offense than the Rock. Trying to make up for not jobbing to Booker T.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 Yeah. I didn't realize this, but I think HHH actually gave Helms more offense than Rock did, and he won the match only semi-cleanly because Flair kept interfering. Damn, Flair put his heeling boots on last night...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 It was a good match, and if they actually DID something with Hurricane after it, HHH selling for him would actually MEAN something. HHH's celebration afterwards (posing instead of crawling) and no focus on Hurricane (they should have had him stand up after the match so the crowd can show their appreciation) made the match ultimately meaningless.
Guest Downhome Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I personally thought Helms looked stronger than he ever has, and yes, even more so than pinning Rocky on a fluke pin. In reality, Helms almost virtually squashed Helms, I loved it and it was one of my favorite moments of the night.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 It was HHH trying to fuck with Rock and do HHH v. TAKa again. In September he did the same thing with Spike Dudley
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 What does looking strong for one night matter if you don't do anything in the weeks after? It was a charity match from HHH to Hurricane making up for beating booker.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 He did the same thing with Test and Dvon Dudley - where are they now?
Mecha Mummy Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I'll admit, Hurricane hitting the chokeslam on HHH had me marking out like a Jeff Hardy fangirl when he takes off his shirt. Ewww, bad mental place.
Guest Brian Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 The thing is, Rock took a whole lot of heat away from Hurricane by focusing on Austin. They pulled everything away from that win and it failed to put him over. HHH selling that much for him did just as much for Hurricane.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 ..Which, in the end, is nothing. Hurricane is a cruiserweight whose ultimate purpose on RAW to bump for hosses.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 ..Which, in the end, is nothing. Hurricane is a cruiserweight whose ultimate purpose on RAW to bump for hosses. You are a very depressing person, you know that?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I have a Cold...maybe that's why. Do you actually see them doing anything with Hurricane? HHH has done this time and time and time again - it's merely charity - he's trying to look good for the boys-in-the-back. Hurricane will be jobbing to 3MW in a tag with Maven next week.
Guest NoCalMike Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 The match as decent, but what really made me mad and annoyed, was that everytime Hurricane would get some offense in on HHH, Jim Ross would have to keep repeating that Triple H is not at 100% and that is why Hurricane is able to even give him a decent fight. There was no need for that shit. It just makes Hurricane look even worse when he gets beat by Triple H at "60%"
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 ^^^^ He's right. JR made sure that we knew that Booker T was the sole reason that HHH was having trouble beating Hurricane clean quicker.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 And HHH still won. Which sends two messages. 1)Hurricane can't beat a wore down HHH, and 2)Booker can't beat HHH bad enough for him to lose to a cruiserweight the next night.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I wish one night JR would decide "you know what fuck Hunter" and didn't give him verbal blowjobs.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I actually am amused by JR's commentary. I love how Jericho can outsmart someone and he's a bastard...and HHH can hit people with a weapon and he's a genius.
Guest Downhome Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 This is what I'm talking about, people analyzing EVERYTHING. It was a fucking good match which had plenty of mark out moments for everyone to enjoy, PLUS it made Helms look stronger than he ever has looked in his career. Helms showed that he CAN go with the big boys, and HHH did a supurb job for making Helms look like a pro. It was also cool in my eyes they they played up HHH being worn down after that great ass bout with Booker T. In the end, it isn't even believable for Helms to beat HHH at this point of their respective careers, I don't think anyone actually thought Helms would win, meaning the marks not the smarks... ...but it was just fun rooting for the guy, hoping against hope, that he would climb that mountain. There is no use consuming yourselves with crap like, sure it was an ok match but it was all a plot of the evil HHH! Yes, even though he did a great job and help Helms look good the REAL meaning was to make everyone else in the world look like crap, OMG~! I mean, really, this is getting old rather quickly. Why can't you just enjoy the great match, and it was a great match, instead of allowing your atrocious hate for HHH to just consume you and take a lot of the fun out of it for you? Are you that obsessed with him that you are not able to allow yourselves to do so?
Guest NoCalMike Posted April 1, 2003 Report Posted April 1, 2003 I am not over-analyzing anything. I even said the match was decent. I knew Triple H would win and I didn't care. I had no problem with it. All I said was Jim Ross could have kept his mouth shut and stopped explaining to people why Hurricane was even "worthy" of getting offense in on Triple H. The commentary was the only destractor.
