Terrible news concerning Kevin Nash

Recommended Posts

Guest Super Pissed Smark

Yeah, I was wondering about that as well. Should be interesting to see how J.R. first refers to him. "Ohmigod, it's former WWE champion Deisel, he hasn't wrestled here in years King!" or "Deisel, known better to some of you as Kevin Nash from the NWO, who has now changed his hair. Yes, the hair!"

I think I read somewhere that Nash thinks he'll get a bigger push as Deisel, one of Vince's creations, than as NWO-guy. If that's true then the smartest guy in wrestling seems to be cofirming that Vince is even more of an idiot than we thought.

Ok, wait...

People know who Kevin Nash is. He's been wrestling as Kevin Nash since 1996. Your average mark will look at him and go "Oh, that's Kevin Nash."

So what exactly is the point in saddling a gimmick on him that's literally almost 10 years old at this point (He started around '94 with it, didn't he? Something like that...) that no one, outside of a select few fans, will remember, especially seeing as how the Diesel gimmick is just Nash being Nash, except with "Diesel" written on his tights.

It seems so pointless...

Compared to everything else sucking in WWE at this point, that's very minor.

He thinks he'll have better luck as Diesel, BTW.

Diesel ... I remember him. Wait, wasn't he that guy that was champ during one of the worst years EVER? Weren't his main challengers Jeff Jarrett, Psycho Sid, Mabel, and a years-passed-washed-up King Kong Bundy?

SSSShhhhhssssshhhhh!

The smart marks only follow figures, not the circumstances surrounding them. They say Nash doesn't draw, so he doesn't draw. Face it.

Give me a break, the product was fucking SHITTY in 95. Everyone knows that was their worst year creatively. You can't blame Nash whatsoever. He was responsible for the resurgence of Barry Horowitz? The characters Jean-Pierre Lafitte, Thurman Sparky Plugg, The Bodydonnas, Techno Team 2000, and others? C'mon. You all have blind hatred towards the guy because of his perceived backstage pull. Big whoop. I didn't see him use any pull when he was left off the WM card last year. The guy didn't toil in WCW Main Events for 5 straight years...he was a team player. But no, he ended Goldberg's streak. Wow, the crowd was 50/50 during that match anyway. Vince has a hard-on for him, and it'll always stay that way. Since my boy Steiner has been left on the backburner, I want Nash to go straight to the top. I wanna see if any of you have the sack to finally stop watching when that happens. I'll love it.

As big a Diesel mark as I was (especially post SS 95), I fail to see the point of this. Just bring him back as Nash.

I agree 100%

I like him either way though.

I actually don't see the point in it either, it really will make little sense seeing Kevin Nash go back to a character type...well, character. I don't see how they can explain Kevin Nash being called just Diesel again, but I'll wait and see.

I'll love it however, untill it shows itself to be a mess, as I AM a huge mark for the character.

be honest, who else clicked on this expecting something about a bicep injury?

That wouldn't be terrible news for us.

Terrible news would be something like "Nash to get huge push when he returns."

Doesn't Gimmick repackaging mean "Huge Push"?

Vince, if your going to bring back another nostalgia act, at least bring one back that was actually successful (if he can find one he hasn't already brought back).

Why would you waste your time stating something EVERYONE says. Is there an echo in here? Jeepers. Baaah.

Probably something along the lines of "I lost my smile as Kevin Nash".

It's pretty dangerous for big Kev to be messin with his hair. I mean his body falling apart doesn't seem to affect him adversly, but the hair, he can't go on if something happens to it.

Conditioner Kev, Conditioner.

I'd laugh my ass off if dying it made him go bald temporarily.

Him and Hall both had graying in their beards, so possibly he opted to go blond after the graying started to get more noticable in his hair.

I think it was naturally brown, though.

You know i may get killed for this.....But, when the guy is motivated he's not that bad. He brings a lot of intensity and charisma. He had a very good WMXIV match with Taker.....he's had some great matches with Hart. A very good match with Owen Hart on the first Action zone show in 95 (remember that). The guy can be ok if he can stay healthy.......then again he'll probably break his neck trying to take an over the top rope bump the same night he returns....oh well

You know, they could always have him come back as Nash, take a sick looking bump and revert back to his Diesel character...or they could go the Chainsaw Charlie route (everybody knows it's Terry, but he insists on doing the stupid gimmick).

Coach-"Kevin Na...."

'Don't call me Big Kev' Diesel-"Kevin...who is Kevin? I am Diesel!"

Or...

Hogan-"Hey big guy."

Diesel-"Do I know you? Weren't you that guy how worked here in 93?"

That'd be really funny, because it'd suck on a WrestleCrap proportion.

As for Nash, again (like Goldberg) I see the reasons for hating him but I don't really care. If he entertains for a while, who really cares? I'm not gonna follow the rest of the sheep and say he sucks...I don't need to say it just to try and be popular amongst fellow Smarks. (No offense of course) :P

Didn't Vince learn the first time Diesel nearly killed his company?

I think the only time Vince learned a damn thing was when Pillman died.

I'm not sure why this is terrible news. "Diesel" was a bit more entertaining than Kevin Nash for me since he was doing a more serious character in the WWF and didn't go for laughs as much. I think a return to the harder edge would be good for him.

I don't have a problem with Nash really, since I really can't see really getting up in arms over who Vince hires since he can't get the writers to make any of them interesting anyway. There's not going to be one personality that just sweeps out of nowhere and charges wrestling up again for a while anyway.

Fear not, fans. While Big Kev may have lost that is-it-grey-is-it-blond-we-just-don't-know marvel, he still retains the ability to flop his hair around. That'll be enough for me to watch his matches. Maybe. As long as he doesn't try and get motivated, 'cos lazy Nash is hilarious.

Finally some said it.

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I read that. In turn, I also echo the sentiments that it's a needless reversion. But then again, not for Nash if Vince is a TRUE DUMBASS!

Coach-"Kevin Na...."

'Don't call me Big Kev' Diesel-"Kevin...who is Kevin? I am Diesel!"

Or...

Hogan-"Hey big guy."

Diesel-"Do I know you? Weren't you that guy how worked here in 93?"

That was/would be great. You are awesome, my friend. But maybe not, you just may've been lucky.

What did he learn?

He decided after Pillman's death that maybe the old formulas had become dated and things needed to change. Pillmans death was really just a final piece of the puzzle. They are real humans, not gimmicks. They aren't all stable and yes, they can die from what he demands of them.
