None of the above. Jumbo Motherfucking Tsuruta is the answer.

How did the Rock and Magnum TA make this list?

Workrate only it is DK, but others (like Flair or Steamboat) are better overall packages.

Dynamite, my favourite wrestler ever. Makes you proud to be English.

Minus Benoit, none of those guys go above:

Toshiaki Kawada

Mitsuharu Misawa

Kenta Kobashi

Akira Taue (1995-1997)

On the list, it is Benoit, then Flair. But I would put Windham right up there.

And if you need a Japanese Junior, Liger is 10000000x the worker TM was.

Here's my Top 10:

1. Jumbo Tsuruta

2. Akira Hokuto

3. Toshiaki Kawada

4. Jushin Liger

5. Volk Han

6. Mitsuharu Misawa

7. Kenta Kobashi

8. Chris Benoit

9. Shinjiro Ohtani

10. Kiyoshi Tamura

Note: I haven't seen enough of Jaguar Yokota and The Destroyer (both of whom are regarded as Top 10 picks), nor have I seen enough Lucha to put in people like El Hijo Del Santo and Blue Panther.

Best that I know of, which are in North America, in no order.

Bret Hart

Ric Flair

Steve Austin

Shawn Michaels

Ted DiBiase

Where is Toshiaki Kawada?

This poll is useless without that name.

Yah, if you go by NA workers, on pure workrate, Flair, Benoit, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, and in my opinion, Arn Anderson are my top 5.

Worldwide, you have to look at Tsuruta, Kawada, Misawa, Taue, Kobashi, Hokuto, and Lyger...

What are you talking about? How do I "not understand?" I have a lot of puro, and a lot of his matches that people consider some of the greatest matches of all-time like Misawa and Kobashi vs. Kawada and Taue (6/9/95) & Mitsuharu Misawa/Jun Akiyama vs. Toshiaki Kawada/Akira Taue. Just a difference of opinion. I think he's a big, slow freak and it makes my stomach uneasy to look at him. I'm sorry.

Dude, ease up on the Angle love, the guy has worked one style in one promotion for three years.

I'd like to give the nod to Jumbo, Hokuto, Misawa etc. but I gotta keep it Canadian and give it to Benoit. I also haven't seen enough of the above listed Puro wrestlers but have basically seen all of Benoits career so I can safely list him.

My picks would be

1) Benoit of course 2) Dynamite Kid - There's not one person that could've had the matchups he did in Stampede 3)Liger 4)Bret Hart- He really stood out from the pack in the WWF 5)Manami Toyota- I'm a fan of workrate 6)Kobashi 7)Ricky Steamboat- Consistently great over a long period of time. I've never seen him take a night off in the ring. 8)Akira Hokuto 9)Aja Kong

There are others as well but I really need to see more of their work.

Wow, ya sure thought this one through.

"Best in-ring worker ever" = highest workrate? Uh, what?

Care to describe this a little more fully? Or explain how you came to your (erroneous) conclusion? Or did you just want everyone to jump in and wank off to their own personal favorites? I bet you are (or would be) a fan of Molinaro's top 100 wrestlers book.

Lyger revolutionized the junior style, always remained relevant and over, while maintaining top form throughout his career (brain tumor aside, of course). Just look at his early 90's work with Sano, the 93 match with Sammy, the J-cups in 94 and 95, vs. Ohtani in 96, Sammy again in 97. Before that, he had some damn fine stuff with Owen Hart. Hell, at WCW Superbrawl II, he got over with a largely unfamiliar American crowd in a matter of about 3 minutes. He can fly, throw stirkes, work the mat, and sell like a god. I've never seen anyone better.

had it not been for the accident, I think Magnum would definitly be getting a few votes

Jubuki, I'm guessing you're mad at my Toyota pick. For the record if this was a list of my favourites the list would be somewhat different.

There are lots of different variables in deciding how good a worker someone is. Such as knowing what to do and when to do it, selling, how hard someone's working, charisma and so on. There are no set laws on how important one factor is compared to another. In particular, I have workrate very high on the list. I assume other factors are higher on your list.

First off, I just put 10 people on the list. I couldn't put a choice of 75988562123 wrestlers because it only allows 10. Lets see you put together a list of wrestlers. I didn't put foreign wresters on the list because there are a lot of people (unlike myself) that have access to footage of puro and many other feds. So there you go Einstein......

Well it was stupid to try to even list only 10 wrestlers in a thread entitled 'Best in ring worker ever'. You should of just asked people who they thought of as the best.

In my case, Mitsuharu Misawa is the greatest wrestler I've ever seen, along side Jumbo.

Outside of Japan, Bret 'Hitman' Hart and Ric Flair.
