Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I already have a line of communication open with Brian Solomon (WWE.com columnist)- we've exchanged emails regarding certain subjects on a number of occasions. This isn't anything big, but it's something. We could easily send an email over to Dave Meltzer or post on the WrestlingClassics board (where Dave posts) and see if he has any suggestions or if he can help in any way, shape or form. There are plenty of messageboards on the net where support could be garnered - so that's definitely a way to spread the word.
Guest creativename Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Don't make me beg Creative Booyah~! Down with the establishment! Where's my guillotine!? Hey...this can be kind of fun. Maybe we should start the list of demands with a cool catchphrase? We are trying to convince wrestling fans, after all...it's all about the presentation
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 The WWE listens to the LAW every week (they say Howard Finkle monitors it along with some WWE workers), so that's certainly a place to spread the word.
syxx2001 Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 for every message board you post at, put it in your sig. "Don't like RAW? Don't watch on May 5th. Boycott RAW." or something how about we start this coming up Monday. that would own. a 3.4 to a 1.3
Guest bob_barron Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 The ratings won't go down by two points boycott or not
Guest Downhome Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 how about we start this coming up Monday. that would own. a 3.4 to a 1.3 I seriously hope you aren't serious.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 It's too early to do anything quite yet. We first must be ready here, on the smarksboard. Once we have everything in line here, once we are prepared, THEN we start.
Guest snuffbox Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Snuff, you in? I allready boycott the Raw product But to add one other thing...I am currently in college working on an English major as writing is my strong point. I would be inclined to write an in depth essay on this idea/issue...to post in forums or the main page if possible.
Guest Choken One Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I must say...I love you guys are acting as if you're starting a Revolution here...
Guest razazteca Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Are you going to spread the word on chatrooms? By doing this you could get instant feedback from marks.
syxx2001 Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 i just emailed the guy who runs wrestling information archive and mr. tito. lets see what they say.
Guest creativename Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Along with whatever demands we're making, we should post out arguments and counter-arguments as to why exactly people should do this. Probably with links to a thread detailing such on this board or something, because the actual post should be concise. I must say...I love you guys are acting as if you're starting a Revolution here... That is half the fun, you know...like I said, I have little confidence in this, but who knows? Good rhetoric that gets people excited can really help out "The Cause"
Guest Downhome Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 One of you needs to email Dave Scherer to see what he says. [email protected]
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Latino Heat Sakura MaxPower CreativeName RavishingRickRudo JDMattitude Lord of the Curry Brian (still assuming this - he started the thread after all) Snuffbox ShatteredDreams Downhome, I have disagreed with you on many-a-things, but you have introduced many-a-fine points in this thread and your contributions would be welcomed. You don't have to stop watching, but another head is always needed. Chatrooms was something I never even considered, but it would be a great way to spread the word.
Patty O'Green Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I don't watch RAW anyway, you might as well count me in.
Guest snuffbox Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I must say...I love you guys are acting as if you're starting a Revolution here... we shouldnt be so naive...trying to voice our ideas to correct the ills of the entertainment that we love to watch. speaking up in some, any, manner is the ONLY way something will ever happen.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Do I expect this to work? No. Do I HOPE this will work? YES. Is there a point in trying? YES.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Can I make a request to anyone who is interested? Keep it in this board for now. We aren't ready to spread the word beyond the walls of the smarkmarks forum - the better we are prepared, the more convincing our stance will be to others.
syxx2001 Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 oops. sorry then. i already posted it on the gamefaqs wrestling board and the LOP board. sorry, just trying to help
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Oh no problem, it will be interesting to get some 'preliminary data' I will say this: If this 'thing' can last a week, then it will last for a month. The first week is crucial - if we can all stay on board, and be serious about it (and that's not to say it won't be fun, because it should be, but we still must keep our eye on the ball) then there is great hopes for this 'revolution'.
Guest Downhome Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Every time we post this somewhere, please post the links to where it's posted at in this thread.
syxx2001 Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 i say one person watch and post about the show. in case sting and ted turner appear and the show deserves a 10.0 rating
Guest Downhome Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Man, post the links to where you posted this so far. I also say go ahead and post the concept everywhere, but that's just me. Just make sure to say that more details will come soon, and that for now we are just wanting to see who is interested.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 syxx, just for the record, you in?
Guest bob_barron Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Why would Ted Turner and a washed up former star being on the show make it deserve a 10.0 rating?
Guest snuffbox Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Why would Ted Turner and a washed up former star being on the show make it deserve a 10.0 rating? Im thinking there was some sarcasm in syxx's post.
syxx2001 Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 im just saying bob, geez. and ravishing, i hate vince mcmahon with a passion. anything to make him fail is ok with me. and downhome, i posted links in the threads i created.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Good point downhome, I just figure "let's keep it small" so it can be more controlled. When everything gets set here, THEN we go to other boards. BUT, with that said, getting more people interested will make this thing more powerful and that sort of confidence will give us more incentive to get this thing rolling.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Even though I'm not going along with this I give you guys credit for trying to make a difference. I wish you the best of luck
