Guest LaParkaMarka Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 I hope the fans don't riot. I HATE when fans do that. Hey, this is VANCOUVER we're talking about. They probably just went out and toked up on some B.C. bud... Vancouver had a huge riot after they lost Game 7 to the Rangers in 1994. Riot Update: Everyone was too sad to riot. Plus there was massive police presence downtown. Geez, it's like the town is in mourning now. Anyways, here's hoping for a Sens/Ducks final. And here's half-expecting a Devils/Wild final.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 I wouldn't mind either team coming out of the West. Both are good, exciting teams.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted May 9, 2003 Report Posted May 9, 2003 I agree with MaxPower, I like both teams in the West. I admire Minnesota's never quit attitude and I enjoyed the games of theirs that I have seen. As for Anaheim, they are an enjoyable team, and, as a Red Wings hater, I love any team that swept them out of the playoffs. As for the East, I am firmly behind Ottawa. Especially since, I believe, this would be the first time in awhile that neither of the Big Four(Colorado, Detroit, Dallas, and New Jersey) would be in the Stanley Cup Final.
Urban Warfare Posted May 10, 2003 Author Report Posted May 10, 2003 Any predictions for round 3? Ottawa over Jersey in 7 Anaheim Over Minnesota in 6
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Ottawa over Jersey in 6 Minnesota over Anaheim in 7
Guest Will Scarlet Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 I am going to go out on the limb, and say that the Ottawa-Jersey series will be a real downer, and Ottawa takes it in 5. Minnesota-Anaheim should be a good series. Minnesota will make the comeback and stretch it to 7 games, but, in Game 7, Giguere stands on his head, and leads Anaheim into the Stanley Cup Finals.
Urban Warfare Posted May 10, 2003 Author Report Posted May 10, 2003 (edited) why is anaheim hosting the wild? I thought the wild were 6th place and the ducks were 7th? Edited May 10, 2003 by hockey_fan
Guest the pinjockey Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Anaheim is the 7th seed. Detroit was the 2 seed.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Minnesota has home ice because they are #6, and Anaheim is #7
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 If the rest of the series is as good as the first period was, we're in for a classic Western Conference Final.
Urban Warfare Posted May 10, 2003 Author Report Posted May 10, 2003 zholtok had a couple of good chances, but it is 0-0 after 1 in minnesota.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 (edited) Game is picking up. Giguere robbed Gaborik......holy shit,my jaw dropped on that stick save. still scoreless after 2 periods. Edited May 10, 2003 by Slingshot Suplex
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 That Giguere save was better than his robbery of Modano with the skate. Gaborik had a goal there.
Urban Warfare Posted May 10, 2003 Author Report Posted May 10, 2003 im predicting a 1-0 triple over time win for the ducks.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Your prediction might be true at this rate? Have the Ducks had a powerplay? I've been watching since late 1st and I remember 4 Minnesota pps but no Ducks
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 This series is going to be great. The Ducks got the first PP of the game.
Gert T Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Gotta get my picks in before this game ends. New Jersey in 7 Anaheim in 6
Urban Warfare Posted May 10, 2003 Author Report Posted May 10, 2003 GOAL!!! Sykora wins the game on a beautiful goal.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Leclerc executed the perfect pass to get him that goal. I've already said it, but it bears repeating: This is going to be a great series. Oh, and GO SENS!!
Paul Stanley Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 We lost, but what a game! I congraluate both teams.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Why. The Wild lost, teams that lose don't deserve praise. The Wild better not have that kind of attitude. Be pissed about losing, be mad at yourselves. Go back and look at missed opportunites. What you did wrong on that goal. How do you win more faceoffs.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 Because they've played 4 games in less than a week would be one reason, traveling back and forth to Vancouver. Also, they outplayed Anaheim for most of the game, but the tank just ran out of gas. The problem on the goal? Kuba pushed forward to keep it in the zone, which left Sekaras alone with Leclerc and Sykora. Bingo. Game over. It's a mental error, caused by exhaustion most likely.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 10, 2003 Report Posted May 10, 2003 That's a bullshit call. Obviously, nobody informed Chara that he'd been penalized. Other than that, 2-0 Sens after 1!!
Agent_Bond34 Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 I got a funny feeling this one might go into overtime.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted May 11, 2003 Report Posted May 11, 2003 YEAH!!! I hope Neidermeyer is OK though. That looked pretty bad, he was in bad shape.
Guest CanadianChris Posted May 12, 2003 Report Posted May 12, 2003 This is ridiculous. Six periods and ONE goal?? This is really helping the NHL's image.
