Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Ottawa is in the driver's seat now though. I can not picture either of these teams being able to go through this series and still have anything left for round 2.

Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I think I woke up my entire neighbourhood when Green scored. It reminded me a lot of Kaberle's goal in game 3, but I marked out huge.

Guest starvenger Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Ottawa is in the driver's seat now though. I can not picture either of these teams being able to go through this series and still have anything left for round 2. Assuming game 1 is on Thursday, Ottawa should have the upper hand in the first two games. However both Toronto and Philly are tough, gritty teams, which history (as irrelevant as that is) has shown that Ottawa hasn't handled that kind of team that well, so it's imperative that the Sens get out to a good start. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 22, 2003 That was the greatest game ever. I ran back and forth screaming my head off. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Don't worry, you'll be tucked into bed when the game is basically over after 20 minutes. What's that?

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 22, 2003 You Leaf fans are clearly dellusional. Honestly, get your head out of your asses. Aside from game 3, which the Leafs showed some signs of life, the Flyers have COMPLETELY dominated the series. Ask Pat Quinn - he'd tell you the exact same thing. Know what else? and mark my words. If the Leafs do win this series; Banky, Rad, and all of my other TSM creations will leave the board forever. Thats right, forever. This isn't even a contest. Barring a major major choke, the Flyers have this series in the bag. then all of you useless Leafs fanboys can take your maple leaf pride and shove it straight up your clueless asses. Who's next? The fucking Senators. All of you Eastern Canadian motherfuckers are going down. Treble, Bob, and the rest of the Leafs fans - I'm not one to say I told you so BUT I told you so. I'm gonna miss you Banky. You were such a quality poster.

Forgotten that two-goal performance by Philly last year already? Ottawa should handle either of those teams in five games. Toronto doesn't have the speed or the defence to match up with the Sens, and Philly doesn't have the goaltending.

The fact is, Ottawa, on PAPER, was better than Toronto, and still lost. The only thing that's certain in the Stanley Cup playoffs is that nothing is certain. Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I have forgotten nothing, including the fact that the Sens lost their best defenceman and one of their top forwards in Game 5. They should have closed it out in Ottawa. They handled the Leafs just fine up to that point.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 If Robert Persson hadn't checked Domi and gotten color, TO was gone. As it was, that was the turning point in the series.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted April 22, 2003 If Robert Persson hadn't checked Domi and gotten color, TO was gone. As it was, that was the turning point in the series. Is that who it was? I thought it was Rachunek for some reason. No matter...that WAS the turning point. Ottawa up 2-0 early in their own building, with all the momentum, and then that. Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Nah, it was Persson. I remember only because when he left the team for whatever reason I was enthralled.

They should have closed it out in Ottawa. They handled the Leafs just fine up to that point. Just remember that Toronto was without their best defenceman and best forward as well. Again, it's all part of the playoffs and you can take (almost) nothing for granted. OK, there's the usual player cliches, vague injury assesments and a team winning 4 games in a series advancing etc., but ASIDE from that... Predictions for tonight: - I previously picked Vancouver over St. Louis. On a tangential note, does anyone know if the gold "Vee" sweaters are being rereleased this year? I'm trying to complete my Canucks sweater (aka ugliest series of NHL jerseys EVER) collection. Barron? - Colorado over Minnesota. I wouldn't cry if the Wild won, though. I suppose I SHOULD root for Minny, what with Houston having their minor league affiliate and all. Plus, as someone else noted, the Avs AND Wings out in round 1 would be huge. - Toronto over Philly. This shouldn't surprise you. I still pick Ottawa to win game 1 against whoever though. Anything other than a dominating performance from the Sens I'd consider disappointing.. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I honestly don't know about the jerseys starvenger. I agree with your picks. Toronto has tons of momentum going into Game 7 after their dominating OT performance. As much as I want the Wild to win I have a feeling Colorado is going to kick their ass tonight. If the Big 3 keeps it up- Vancouver should get the win.
