Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted May 16, 2003 There's no reason for players coming off 3 titles to cry about it. They are crying about not winning a fourth ring. I'm sorry but that is not going to gain anyones sympathy and you do come out looking like a spoiled kid who gets mad when someone dares to beat them. They can show whatever emotion they want. What is wrong with being upset about not getting another ring? Correction the people who don't like the Lakers will feel this way. This "I'm more happy one team lost, than that another team actually won". Really bothers me. It happens with the Yankees. The only people who should be happy and even care are fans of the Spurs. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 16, 2003 The NBA has shoved the Kings and the Lakers down my throat for 3 or 4 years now. If they both lost tonight back to back to get knocked out of the playoffs I will as happy as a pig in shit.

If this happens then it will truely be over.
Guest Snappy Nappy Dugout Report post Posted May 16, 2003 (edited) Finally the Lakers Dynasty is over. I wouldn't go that far.If the Lakers return their key components and add some players, they'll be a serious contenders next year. Yeah, I agree. It's rumor that Pippen, Malone, and Terry Jason might come to the lakers next year. The only reason why I'm happy the Lakers lost is because it might open Jerry Buss eyes to get some young fresh talent to help Shaq out, and stop depending on old players. Oh, and were the hell is Polish Rifile at? Edited May 16, 2003 by Unwritten Religion

Guest godthedog Report post Posted May 16, 2003 I am sorry but I can't watch The NBA Finals unless Tim Duncan gains a fucking personality... cause god forbid you be entertained by great basketball players actually playing great basketball. anyway...kobe needs to start stepping up and working harder when his team is down so much. i shouldn't be able to see the look of idle disappointment in his face when his team misses another shot. god bless shaq for not giving up. horry being a total nonfactor in the whole series really hurt the team as well. and i'm personally very happy for the spurs' big win. i hoped they would win in LA to shake off the choker label, & having a total blowout makes it that much better. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Phil Jackson said this week that he's not retiring and that he's so rejuvenated from the heart surgery that he might coach longer than his current contract which wasn't expected as soon as last week. You know, I do feel sorry for Kobe. I mean now instead of playing an extra month of basketball this year he has to spend an extra month getting blow jobs from his beautiful wife in his multil-million dollar summer estate. Life sucks when you're Kobe Bryant.

Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Report post Posted May 16, 2003 All right, let me have it. I can handle it and if they'd won I'd do the same to you guys. I took it all the way through the 90's, so this is nothing new. But seriously, the reason Kobe and Fisher were crying is because this fourth ring meant something to them and they actually played like it. Shaq played his ass off, but the same intensity wasn't there. I'd cry to if I'd played my ass off for something and get it taken away and there wasn't shit I could do about it. I've played basketball and competitive sports in my life and I doubt some of you people could even imagine what they were feeling. So call them pussies if it makes you feel better, but it really just makes you look like a big ass because you'll never know how bad of a feeling that is. I doubt Phil will retire, I saw that he said he'd go awhile longer. If they get rid of Horry and a few others and pick up Malone, then they would still be good to go. Even if that doesn't go they can always make some key trades and come back strong next year. It won't be four in a row, but we can still dominate this decade like we did in the 80's! Oh, and GO NETS! Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Looks like the Kings are gonna win. Side thought: Can you imagine the sheer and utter indifference for a Detroit vs San Antonio final? *crickets chirping* And yet thats a matchup of the best team in the east vs the best team in the west. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 16, 2003 *Vlade Divac look like crap in Game 6. He was like a clumsy version of Dikembe Mutombo out there. Every time I looked up he was falling down, stumbling, tripping over someone's foot or fumbling passes. He made some nice dishes, but overall he looks like a clumsy old man on the floor. Anyone else notice this? *Jimmy Jackson believes he was blackballed from the League after Don Nelson said Dallas' 3 Js (Jimmy, Jason Kidd and Jamal Mashburn) were all "crybabies." It sounds like someone is in denial AND a conspiracy theorist. Now if Jimmy was blackballed because Nellie said all three were crybabies, wouldn't that mean the other two would get blackballed too? Well, the last time I checked, Jason Kidd and Jamal Mashburn were in the All-Star Game this year. Jimmy just wasn't as good as he thought he was. *I'm tired of everyone saying the Lakers' dynasty is over when the real story is that the STREAK is over. If they come back and win the title next year, isn't 4 chmapionships in 5 years still a dynasty? People did the same thing when the Yankees lost to Arizona in the World Series. But if New York wins it all this year, wouldn't 5 championships in 7-8 years (or whatever it would be) still be a dynasty? *I really think Dallas would have won Game 6 if Michael Finely was more aggressive. There were at least two occasions late in the game when he droveto the hoop, but instead of trying for a dunk or a strong layuip, he stopped and looked to pass. *I don't know the guy or anything, but I have this feeling that whichever team Karl Malone goes to next year (if the Dallas or LA rumors are true) is doomed to fail. Something about him just tells me he will destroy that team chemistry, since he was The Man in Utah and he wouldn't be the man there, so he'd pull the Bitter Old Man thing. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted May 16, 2003 I'd really to like see a Dallas vs Detroit finals. I think it'd be awesome to see the best offense go against the best defense and see if the old saying of defense wins championships is true or not.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 16, 2003 I am sorry but I can't watch The NBA Finals unless Tim Duncan gains a fucking personality... cause god forbid you be entertained by great basketball players actually playing great basketball. And I do apprciate his talent...It's just his bland personality doesn't entice me and nation of others to care about him because he never shows emotion... That's why today's fan love or love to hate people Iverson because he has a personality and that sells... Duncan is playing in the wrong era...

Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 16, 2003 Everyone keeps saying that the Lakers can revamp...the Spurs will be adding another all-star in the off season.. A jermaine O'neal or a Elton Brand or (While not a all-star a damn good player) Michael Oli..uh...Olawakandi...something like that. The ENTIRE core of the team is young as shit AND they are going to get better. The Spurs(and Suns...mark my words) will be the team to beat the next few years. The Lakers need 6-7 players to be among the best again and that will take more than a year. Jim Jackson went from a starter, all-star, 26 Pt. a game scorer. Nellie made his JJ comments, traded him and no one ever wanted to give the guy a real chance again. He played great in Portland but besides that he was basically avoided in the league. He might actually have a point. The Lakers should be crying after losing in the playoffs. I expect that from most sports teams after over 10 months of training and pain to reach the championship and coming up short. These guys care about the game and were hurt in losing. Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted May 16, 2003 With no Lakers in it, I might actually watch a game. I like both Detroit and San Antonio because I'd rather watch a player who is good at his chosen sport rather than a crazy personality bouncing off the walls and causing havoc. Personally, I'd rather watch Tim Duncan over Allen Iverson because at least with Duncan, you KNOW what you're getting. Iverson is so unpredictable that you don't know who is going to show up. I'd rather watch a good defensive game like a 83-78 game than the Mavricks winning 130-115, because it shows that the Mavs can play one side of the ball, but when they are required to play defense, most of them choke and aren't able to do it. Guest Spicy McHaggis Report post Posted May 16, 2003 With the exception of Ripper (no matter how much we disagree, you know your b-ball) and a few others, it's sad to see a bunch of sore winners. I won't sink to that... The Spurs deserve all the credit in the world. They took it to the Lakers and took it from them. And the Lakers' 8-deep system finally caught up with them. The Spurs played better defense, made all their shots, and simply wanted it more. I can root for the Nets or Dallas but it's the Spurs' title for the taking. We lost and all, but dude, don't show your ignorance by saying Kobe sucks. He is still one of the three best players in the league. ..and I still say if any of you people making fun of Kobe and Fisher for crying have never been in any type of competitive sports with the opportunity to win a championship you'd cry to. Or if you have you were just a bad player on on a bad team with no hope of winning a championship so you have bo clue what your tslking about.

Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 16, 2003 There's no crying in basketball. You go out and play your best and win or lose, you know you gave it your all and there's no shame in that. Buy crying? WTF, this isn't figure skating. I'm not Shaq's biggest fan but at least he has the decency and the humility to admit that the Spurs were the better team and won fair and sqaure.
