Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 That sounds good to me. I'll try to make the switch over the weekend, and we'll go from there! Da "sweet!" H PS - Atlas, if you're around...let us know what you want to do about the JL site as far as moving it over there or keeping it where it is.
Atlas Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Yeah, moving it over sounds good. As long as I have FTP access to it, it's cool. It's only temporary anyhow, until Johnny gets the final site up and running (which we'd update through admin access on the site itself, I assume). And as far as the URL, it'd be theswf.net/sjl , correct?
Secret Agent Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 That would be the best for now, Atlas. (theswf.net/sjl). For the most part that server is completley empty so you can stick it where ever you want. I have all the new site stuff I'm working on locally and only logged onto it once to make sure my access worked. I'll set up the directories tonight.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 Ok....so let's just make sure we get it straight now. Atlas, when you port the JL stuff over, create a directory sjl and put it all in there. I will put the WF stuff in the root directory. Now, be sure to go in and change the links in the SJL site that point to the WF site to point to the new location. Yeah, this'll be good. And Johnny will create a new folder where he'll work on development for the new site. Sound good? Da "always tryin' to control shit" H

I'm just keeping the new stuff local. That way nobody can check up on me every three days or so and see if I have progressed any further... Seriously though, thats fine. Just don't break nothing! Da "much better than HVT" J EDIT by HVT: Forgot I could do that didn't you bitch! Edited May 2, 2003 by Secret Agent
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 ::points to editted post above:: Da "I can still do this for a few more days:: H
Atlas Posted May 2, 2003 Report Posted May 2, 2003 No problem. I'll change some of my directory structure during the port, and if I have time, clean up the code a little. And I'll change the site link to the SWF site before then anyhow. Sounds good here.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 Ok...I'm not sure how many of you have noticed yet, but both the SWF and SJL sites have moved to a new server and a new domain. The new website address for both are: SWF http://www.theswf.net SJL http://www.theswf.net/SJL Oh, and thanks to Johnny for adding the index.htm file, since it's very obvious that I didn't test after I moved everything to make sure it worked. So, it's up and running, and look for the site to be updated either in the next couple of hours or the next couple of days. We should be good to go with the site from here on out. To the people involved with the website, mainly Johnny and Atlas, if you make any updates to the site, try to post them either here (for the SWF) or on the JL Website Thread (for the JL). That way we're not stepping on each other's toes, so to speak. Atlas, I know that at least remotely follow the WF, and more so now that you've been bumped, so feel free to update the SWF site since it would seem that you have more time than me, and I'm a lazy bastard. And don't worry about giving me a chance to update it cause chances are, I'll be very happy that you did so. The only thing I ask is that you leave the rankings to me. If you see it needs updating, and you've got the time and/or desire, go right ahead. Da "but don't do it this time cause I'm about to update in about 45 minutes when my boss leaves" H

If you see it needs updating, and you've got the time and/or desire, go right ahead. Da "but don't do it this time cause I'm about to update in about 45 minutes when my boss leaves" H No problem. I'll actually end up focusing more on the SWF site now that I'm following that more. And with the JL's decreasing roster, it won't be difficult to take care of that site. I did notice some small things here and there that still need updating (Career Highlighs under peoples' names, SJL site link, etc). But that's stuff I implemented with the design and they're really minor. I'll update that stuff too, along with graphics for future PPVs and such.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 5, 2003 Report Posted May 5, 2003 You can update too Johnny...I just figured you'd want to spend your time working on the new site, as opposed to updating the old one. Atlas, yeah...I'm sure there's plenty that still needs to be implemented, as I haven't gotten around to doing all of it. I'm gonna update for the PPV and next shows sometime today, so you don't need to worry about that. But yeah...if you wanna do the career highlights and stuff like that that hasn't been implemented yet, that would be great. And yeah, I didn't check the links cause i just threw the site on there on my way out the door. Also, if you wanna add stats for the bumpees, that would be cool as well. Like I said earlier, just be sure to let me know somehow when you made changes... Just...you can do what i do here, which is.. UPDATE: - blah blah blah - fixed x, y, z - pissed in Jay Dawg's mouth etc... that way I'll know what's done and what's not...I don't know what experience you two have with file sharing and such, but it can really fuck things up if we don't have a check in/check out system in place. Unfortunately, we don't have one, nor do I wish to spend the energy to put one together, so the best we can do is to notify when you've made changes here on this thread. Yeah...only if my boss would leave so I can blatantly work on the site. Bastard! Da "sheesh" H
Guest Mr. Slim Citrus Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Uh, would it be considered complaining if I pointed out that my character is 5'11", and not 6'11"?
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Quiet, Wildchild! You'll do a seven foot tall plancha and you'll LIKE IT! ::stunners WC through the piss in JD's mouth:: Continuity!
Atlas Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I think it'd be better if we did the update log in a test file stored on the server itself. Spamming this thread up with replies about minor updates and changes would get tedious, and people would know to take a look at the sites only when there's a reply here. Keeping the update log private would encourage people to visit on their own. Sean "Control Freak" Atlas.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Agreed Atlas...so do this...I'm about to make some changes right now. I'll put a file called update_log.txt in the wwwroot directory. Check that log file before making any updates to the WF site. I won't be doing anything with the JL site, so you don't really have to worry about that. Wildchild...if Atlas hasn't already fixed the problem, I'll do so momentarily. And no, it's not complaining...this is where we want people to tell us about mistakes they find...that way we can get it fixed. Da "glad he has help now" H
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 I need a banner for the 13th Hour PPV! Some one make one! Who's it gonna be? Da "needs it now" H
Atlas Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Mark's logo with a border around it, fitting right in to the site's background.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 6, 2003 Report Posted May 6, 2003 Ok..ignore my last comment...I'm dumb. UPDATES: - Rankings!! - Welcome to Dace Night and Sean Atlas - Welcome back to TBS and Nathan - New cycle schedule thru 13th Hour Da "enjoy" H
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 New rankings up bitches!! Go look at 'em or sumpin... Da "doesn't wanna hear it" h
Guest The Superstar Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 Quick, someone update the SJL Page! Or else I'll stunner u through 18 flaming tables!
Secret Agent Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 QUICK! One of these complainers learn something relatively simple, like HTML!
Guest HVilleThugg Posted May 24, 2003 Report Posted May 24, 2003 HAHAHAHAHAHA! You tell 'em Johnny! Da "not responsible for the JL site...Atlas will do it when he gets back from whereever he is" H
Guest HVilleThugg Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 For anyone who needs me for website stuff, I'm gonna be on vacation for the next week. Direct all your website questions and/or needs to Atlas or Johnny D, and I'll be back from Ft. Lauderdale in a week. Da "deserves this" H
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 ::stab:: Just wanted to say that I really dig the 13th Hour graphic. Haven't noticed it till now. Simple but classy.
Guest Longdogger_Pete Posted June 7, 2003 Report Posted June 7, 2003 Thugg. You're going to Ft. Lauderdale? And you aren't stopping by here on the way? Bitch.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted June 13, 2003 Report Posted June 13, 2003 Sorry Pete...I totally forgot you were in FLA. No offense though, but I doubt my friiends would wanted to take a trip to see a guy whom I've never met from a pretend wrestling thingy...etc... ...besides, wouldn't that be breaking the 5th wall or something? Oh, and we flew, so... Anyway...I"m back now...mad fun to be had...I'll be putting some pics up when I decide to stop being lazy! Oh, and I got a new...VERY WELL PAYING...job while I was on vacation, so how awesome is that! Da "lovin' life" H
Guest ShawnTybalt Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Do y'all need some help on the S. J. L. pages? I no some decent HTML so if you need to do anything like pretty little updates and such of the current pages just holler my way by PM or e-mail. Besides, I'm impatient to see my television championship victory posted!!!!
Guest Powerplay Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 Indeed. If you do, talk to Atlas. I'm sure he'd rather have an active JLer updating the page than a guy who is in the WF and doesn't concentrate as much on stuff down there.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted June 25, 2003 Report Posted June 25, 2003 Well, here's the thing Tybalt, we already have three people in charge of the website, which means that 3 people already have access to the server, which is a security risk that Johnny Dangerous was willing to take. I'm sure you're good at HTML, but we really don't need more people with their hands in the website pot, so to speak, and I doubt that Johnny wants to give out his password to anyone else. It's already somewhat difficult to coordinate the updating with 3 people working at it, adding a fourth could just create total chaos. However, I'll mention it to Johnny and Atlas, and we'll definitely keep you in mind if and when we need some help. Da "pornmasta (hee hee, remember that Jay Dawg?)" H
