Guest Downhome Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Yes, a lot of crap is going on right now that many hate, despise, and every other word in the great big book o' cliche. I just want to ask you guys to do one thing, for this one thread at least, heh, and that's it... ...name off everything that you DO like and enjoy at the moment. I'm not saying to try to make a positive out everything. I just want to know what you do enjoy, why you still even watch. Hell, if there isn't ANYTHING positive that you can mention, then just say that also. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like Rob Van Dam. Not how they use him...or anything like that...just him. Also...I like that it's so easy to forget that Smackdown is on every week.
Guest Sakura Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I seriously cannot think of one thing that is positive. There's people I like, like RVD, but the way he is used...
Guest CanadianChick Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like wrestlers who entertain me, especially RVD, Jericho and Benoit.
Guest art_vandelay Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like the video packages that they show on the Heats before PPV's. If more people saw those, more people would want to watch the show. I like Goldust's tourettes gimmick. I think Dustin does it pretty well. I love watching Spanky wrestle.
Guest Downhome Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 *Waits for someone to say "Nash's Hair!"*
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like the fact that it sucks, it will continue to suck, and I don't have to suffer no more cause I am not watching it and couldn't be more happy. Meanwhile, I *do* get to watch Downhome try to justify/convince himself why he is watching it with lil posts like this. FUN! Hmm, anyone want to place bets to see how long it will take him to crack? I give him 7 months. He will realize certain things about 5 months in, then 2 months to come to terms with it and get off.
Guest caboose Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Matt Hardy is fast becoming a true Superstar
Guest Memphis Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 The Rock is why I watch RAW. He's a genius and remarkably original and talented. I'm with bps on the RVD love too. Honestly, that's it though. M
Guest Lightning Flik Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like the fact that it sucks, it will continue to suck, and I don't have to suffer no more cause I am not watching it and couldn't be more happy. When his pet peeve gets squashed over and over and over again in a row.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like that they are bringing back vignettes for people debuting. I like several wrestlers that entertain me like Goldust, Goldberg, Booker T, and Jericho, John Cena, Eddy Guerrero, Benoit, and Rhyno. The Piper's Pit coming back is entertaining.
Patty O'Green Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like Christian. If Christian was to retire, I'd never have to watch wrestling again.
Guest Sakura Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 That reminds me. I do like laughing at all their blunders. It's fun to like mock Nash and Crips. I also enjoy watching apologists. "you just have to take this match(Hogan/Vince) for what it is" "take off your smart goggles and just enjoy the show" That stuff rules.
Guest Memphis Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 The Piper's Pit coming back is entertaining. .... *leaves thread*
Guest bob_barron Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I would usually say my three favourite wrestlers but- Goldust- Has Tourettes. Regal- Is injured. Booker- His booked so I everytime he's on screen I have to put up with HBK. It just isn't fair
Guest Downhome Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Why must this resort to, once again, just bashing me in one way or another? I'm not even CLOSE to writing off WWE, even though I understand that we have many problems. I DO however think that many, if not all, could be solved with correct booking, that's all. The only time I even came CLOSE to cracking was the night that I saw HHH simulate sex with a dead person. That night I sent emails to EVERYONE. I found every WWE address and sent it to them all, I sent it to every major news site on the net, and I made a huge ass post bithing about it here. If that event did not cause me to stop watching WWE, or to write it off, nothing ever will. Well... ...unless they bring in Jammie Kennedy to join the Brock Lesner/John Cean angle, in an in ring role for the title. I might start thinking about it at that time.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 i like the fact that even though I sit on here and chat it up I can still act like a fan for four hours a week... I notice the bad things...I hate the way people are used... but before I was introduced to the net I had no clue about why Bret got screwed...I saw WwS before I saw TSM or TheSmarks When I didn't know everything....I had so much more fun.... I watched religiously during all of the horrendous of 95 and such...and I didn't care... Gang wars....didn't bother me... Diesel vs. Mabel .... didn't bother me... King Mabel ...didn't really care... Remember the "In Your House" contest.....I cared more about THAT then I did the actual pay per view.... don't ask me why...but i did... now that i sit and listen to everything...i hear the news and the rumors... it bums me about a bit... but I marked out for Piper. but I marked out for Nash. but I marked out for the nWo. but I marked out for Goldberg. All I am is a mark with smart benefits...
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 A wise man* once said that "Letting go is the hardest and most beautiful thing a person can do." *Marc Johnson, Pro Skateboarder
Guest Downhome Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 but I marked out for Piper. but I marked out for Nash. but I marked out for the nWo. but I marked out for Goldberg. All I am is a mark with smart benefits... Same here, but damnit, even I had a problem with that Nash/Diesel shit, that was just horrid. Was this not the worst main event of all time?
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Mattitude, John Cena (Word life!), Benoit, Guerrero (both of them), Jericho, Angle, Lesnar, Kendrick, Tajiri, Funaki, Noble, Piper's Pit, O'Haire, Mysterio, Booker T (when he's not being buried), RVD (ditto), Dreamer (when he actually gets on tv), and the Rock (of course)
Guest Zero_Cool Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Hardy is a reason for me to watch Smackdown, and Spanky might be my new favorite wrestler, as his theme is original and he's brought back the foley "over the steel steps" bump. (Y)
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 oh ... and did I mention that my Nostradamus-side is pretty much seeing "The Rock Concert II" as "Goldberg MAD...Goldberg SMASH GUITAR!"

Geez...
Guest Sakura Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Why are people like proud of the fact that they watch shows as marks? You always see like "I mark out for NASH~!" like it's some kind of wonderful thing.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 oh...and I see the splitting up of the PPVs to actually be a good thing.... because back in the day feuds were given 2-3 months time to build up... now if the writers can learn to work 2 months of material in so that people don't lose interest....that'll be the tough part...
Guest CanadianChick Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I also like the fact that I can find something entertaining about every show. I'm not a hard person to entertain, so every single show has something positive about it.
Guest Space_Cowboy Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I like Rock, Jericho, Mattitude, Cena and the WWE's video packages and production in general. That's about it really.
Guest Memphis Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Why are people like proud of the fact that they watch shows as marks? You always see like "I mark out for NASH~!" like it's some kind of wonderful thing. Chances are when they began watching wrestling, or were highly invovled in it as a mark, Nash was one of their fave's. I'm sure you can relate to that. When your a mark and you have a favourite, no matter how much he or she blows you'll always back them relentlessly. Besides, Nash sets a good example of maintaining healthy hair.
